I thought he was getting better? I'm literally going to start bawling right now, like end of an ERA!!!

No more Nintendo Directs with Iwata...unbelievable, RIP... :-(

My friend just text me this (though he said he thought it was the Mario guy which was even scarier). :(

I loved Nintendo under Iwata even though many did not. May be rest in peace.

Terrible news. I have a great deal of respect for Iwata, and for someone in charge of a company he always seemed to be having fun doing it. Rest in Peace.

Dammit, I just saw this. I'm crushed. I loved Iwata as the CEO. Felt he very much humanized the corporate aspect of the company.

RIP Mr. Iwata.

I cannot even function right now. I was hoping he'd be there to see the industry he helped develop evolve with his continued guidance well into his old age. Life just isn't fair.

The most I can say is rest in peace. I have no more words...

I am just... in total shock. I don't even really know what to say. Find this out while cooking dinner and that was a blind side on my FB feed. I don't neccessarily like the direcction as of late, but damn.... Iwata-san will be horribly missed. No more Nintendo Directs with him. I guess it makes sense with him having, obviously, lost so much weight and missing E3 and all, but god damn.

Arrow. Straight through my Nintendo heart. ;_;

RIP Iwata-san.

Kimishima is my guess. He spearheaded Pokemon in the US and oversaw the Wii boom in the west.

He was moved to NCL when Iwata became CEO of NOA. I wonder if he was doing that knowing he was getting sick.

That's an interesting guess, but it'd still only be temporary at best.

I'd rather not think about that right now. This is just...this is the worst.

This is really sad news. RIP good man. We will miss you.

One thing I really hate about the gaming media is how they don't give importance to such news. I remember when Hiroshi Yamauchi passed away and the mainstream media outlets gave the news more coverage than the likes of Gamespot. It's sickening how the games media just makes this into lesser news. Today IGN hasn't even made this among the top news. It's lower down on their homepage. It's a disgrace.

These creators are the life and soul of the games and their lives are more important than the games.
