I think when 9 was revealed it was action-oriented, but they retreated on that.

I don't see a reason not to as 3DS games still sell quite decently. This is presumably that Sony don't help to localize the game

They haven't brought out ANY of the Dragon Quest games on 3DS to the West though.

It's a mainline game and rumours of DQ7 and 8 localization also give me hope if the game is really coming to 3DS.
I feel like they would've done it already if they were going to, but they keep saying 'oh, it'd be nice if we did' instead of saying 'we're doing it.' They just refuse to pick up the ball on the series in the west and run with it.
DQ7 is understandable. That game is quite the undertaking to retranslate (since the original PSone's translation is prety average *at best*), DQ8, on the other hand, came out for mobiles and had a prety good translation back in the day, so that one's a maybe. SQEX won't talk about localization before the game comes out in Japan though

I wonder if they'll do it like Ni No Kuni and make it the same game but with tweaks on 3DS and PS4, or like Sonic Boom where they're the same characters and world, but their own games.
Also would Level 5 be on it? Would make perfect sense. Imagine what they can do on 3DS with all of their experience on it. Seriously, how many dozen games have they put on it?

There are other DQ games on 3DS than just 7 and 8 though. Theatrhythm, for one. The DQM games being others as well.

DQ7 is pretty much the only game in the series I haven't played, so I don't have first hand experience, but I almost always hear that the translation is not good.

Only thing I forgot was MSX.
The Wii U would be a decent place to put XI since X did okay but I don't see it happening. But I do see NX definitely happening even though I don't expect any news of it until after the NX is formally announced.

DQ heroes did a pretty great job of capturing the graphical look / feel of the DQ series in general on "next gen" platforms.

DQ Heroes does look very nice and fit the visual aesthetics of the Dragon Quest series, but honestly I'm hoping for more, since this will probably be a 2017 title and it's a mainline title with bigger production value I reckon.
they only block livestreams coming from outside of germany. don't ask me why.
