So, who's buying Mad Max next week?

So wahts the deal with all these places making deals on a game that has not even come out. Some people worried about the game not being any good.

thoughts?

I'm interested but not 60 dollars interested, and metal gear and forza 6 already own September for me, plus with text books and school payments, no way I could fit this into septembers budget.

Is stealth an option in this when fighting on foot? Guessing not

During one of the live streams the PR guy from WB Games got ask an question about stealth and said something along the lines that " if an enemy has their back turn to you, then Max can start attacking them, but it isn't necessary an stealth move."

Having watch all the live streams/demos in recent days. I don't think Max can even crouch or take cover, witch neither seems necessary to have.

Published by WB. I can get it for under 20 on PC but after the MKX and more relevantly the Batman: AK shit show WB isn't getting a penny from me until I know it's not a completely shit port.

If it was a summer release maybe but I have no room in the schedule between MGS, TTK, and FO4. In fact , I have completed about 70% of the Witcher 3 and its GOTY for me so far. I may never finish it. Looking at those 3 games alone I don't see me finishing any of them by the time summer rolls around next year... Sucks to be this busy. Making money though so I can toss it at games I will never finish.

Is there going to be a midnight release at best buy for this?

I doubt it. But with it coming out on the same day as metal gear maybe?

Pre-ordered on PSN due to a pricing error. $30 was too good a price for a game that I was already really looking forward to since the first behind closed doors demo I saw in 2013. Good stuff.

Hey, how different has the color's changed since then if you can remember? I've heard that the game has had a big shift in it's color palette since it was originally shown.

The game looks way more colorful nowadays, and a lot better in general. I'd be willing to bet that Fury Road played a part in this.

I haven't pre-ordered or even bought a brand new game in years. I usually wait for prices to get pretty low. For some reason though this game intrigued me and I pre-ordered it. I hope I don't regret it, but it seems like my kind of game. It also helped that I picked it up on PC for ~$27.00.

I hope that this and Arkham Knight (also bought super cheap a couple weeks ago) keep me busy until Fallout 4 comes out.

Yeah, I agree seems to have been a wise choice. I've watched Fury Road now at least 4 times and am very excited to play Mad Max as a result. I really hope it is as good as it looks and that they give the PC version some love. I'd love to see a comparison if anyone knows where one may be floating around.

Generic, not inspired and empty open world with tons of generic and repetitive side activities (just like in almost any other open world game these days), lack of interesting and meaningful story and absolutely awful hand-to-hand combat. In other words, there nothing about this game that I really like and I am not interested in playing and buying this game at all even for a $1. I'd rather buy and play something else and A LOT more interesting (MGSV TPP) than this quick cash grab which was sent to die next week.

You have a lot of hard-criticism for a game that's not even released. Especially the fact that you're criticizing the story. You remind me of my sister when she hated the new backstreet boys cd(for existing), because an Nsync cd hadn't come out yet. She was 11. I'm all for criticism especially when it's warranted, but to make a snap judgement on what I"m assuming you know next to actually anything about is kinda funny. And sad. Mostly sad.

PC Footage if anyone's interested. Quality is shit though so it's hard to make a judgement of the port, but it looks like it runs well even though they apparently are playing on an overheating PC. Still likes like is has that annoying pop-in, but not nearly to the same degree as it's console brethren.

There has only been 1 complete story mission shown in all the streams and footage up to this point so it's kind of hard to make that determination on the story yet. The combat system pulls from the batman games and most people seem to enjoy that style. Plus max adds a few more features on top of the combat to make it unique.

A user who already has the game just posted his very early impressions. It's the Xbox One version. If true, im even more hyped than I was before.

http://www.operationsports.com/forums/non-sports-gaming/840585-mad-max-2.html

Took about 30 minutes for the game to load but I was able to complete the 1st mission with ease. The controller button layout is a little odd for me and will take a little getting use to but the gameplay is really smooth almost to smooth which is a good thing.

Game has a Capture Mode for those that are into that type of thing.

I've had only 1 encounter where I had to fight some clowns and I punched 1 guy and everything slowed down and the guys head bounced off the wreckage. A sick moment that I enjoyed. If there is a concern I would have it would be that I hope the enemies get stronger as the game goes on

The game has the new feel but I can tell you with 1 hour in I can't wait to see what's in store next.

I will say this game isn't a money grab.

The explosions are awesome!!

I think I'm gonna crash now so I can get a few hours in before work tomorrow and at that point I should have a better feel

Is it true that this is available in Europe on September 1st as well? Amazon is listing it as that, so l guess it is but it's unusual for anything outside of mega fuckton AAA release.

Generic, not inspired and empty open world .

Well, it's obvious;y inspired by MadMax movies

with tons of generic and repetitive side activities (just like in almost any other open world game these days),

Probably repetitive, yeah.

lack of interesting and meaningful story
That's a guess, right?

[absolutely awful hand-to-hand combat.
Aweful? Or actually pretty decent?

Oh, you have to choose? Well, i guess i'd go for MGSV too in that case.

You're overreacting a bit. But ofcourse you're free to actually form an opinion based on the stuff you watched. You watched quite a lot for a game you have no interest in, by the way.

I'll be busy playing MGSV, and then I'll probably be busy playing through the Nathan Drake Collection, so not in a good while, no.
