New Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes trailer

This is really making me itch to return to Nintendo directs earlier this year these kind of trailers would be released in those

Oh, I wasn't aware that this could be played alone. I always thought it was multiplayer-exclusive.

I'm still really unsure about it. I love Zelda, but the gameplay just look subpar. Looks like the worst Zelda in many years. I'm sure it's great fun in multiplayer but as the only guy in Sweden with a 3DS I won't have anyone to play with, lol. It's most probably a pass for me.

Looks like Internet play is supported for multiplayer.

There's a lobby in the game in which you can connect with other players online. You can also use download play or play it locally with multiple cartridges.

You can also play it alone.

I like how the gloves make the Mario fireball sound.

Download play? Please don't be just the coliseum mode.

Also the creepy shyguy links (which are the players you are not controlling in single player) feel like a good avatar theme (if people still change their avatars for games).

This looks way better than I expected.

Too bad I don't have any friends.
Could give online a go or just play solo.

Funny how the messages scroll across the screen like on nico nico.

Looks fun it's the four sword game but this time more than 12 people will experience it the way it should :D

Looks like ALBW meets 4 Swords... minus 1. So far, this is a good thing.

Still weird that there's no 2 player co-op.

That's a fantastic trailer that really makes me want to play the game. Had no interest in it prior to this. Well done, Nintendo.

This is the first Zelda game in a very long time I'm not really hyped for. I mean, I'm sure it'll be fun, but I think I've had enough 3DS Zelda games. That, and the multiplayer nature of it is kind of off-putting. I know I can play it alone, but I'm not sure how fun it'll be. I might still buy it, but it's not something I'm itching to play.

Players 1-3 has to be a typo, right? I was under the impression it was 1,3.

Download play:
With Download Play**, three friends can play together using just one copy of the game, and they can even carry some of their progress over to the full game.

Also the creepy shy guy things are called Doppels.

Replay value
For even rarer loot, work together with other players to revisit levels and take on new challenges
But what does rarer loot entail. Is it like you need 20 of each rare drop to make the Gold Dynamo suit?

Miiverse stamps live again?
Finally, to share your great acts of teamwork and skill with others, secure a camera from the Photo Bro character managing the in-game Miiverse Gallery and snap away whilst out exploring the wilds of the Drablands. As well as posting these snaps to Miiverse, you can even unlock Miiverse stamps for each outfit you unlock in-game, which you can apply exclusively to your hand-drawn creations.
Miiverse stamps are horribly under ultilised (only being able to use them in the game you unlocked them for community, no miiverse stamp collection anywhere. many key games missing stamps completely) and I'd never have expected them to return in a 3DS game of all things.

If each costume has a special perk, I wonder what the Dio costume does.

That being said, this game actually looks more interesting than it did back during E3.

Mario Maker has them.

Man I just cannot get excited for this game. Multiplayer Zelda has never appealed to me and swapping back forth sounds like such a pain, especially after playing 4 Swords.

Correct, there is no 2-player. It's either solo or a full set of three human players. If one drops out, you either find a replacement or get booted.

I like how they label communication as a feature, but there's no voice chat of any kind.

And there doesn't need to be. Voice chat is only one possible form of communication, one limited by language capabilities of your fellow players. I get why everyone wants it but let's not pretend it's some holy grail without which the world will fall into chaos.

If this game were more action-oriented then I might have been able to get excited about it, but it just looks like a puzzle game with some action elements thrown in. The sorry state of modern Zelda, I guess. :(

It's always been a puzzle series with action elements thrown in. The first Zelda game was based on exploration, the puzzle of working out where to go.

I think you're confused because none of this makes sense. All Zelda games had a mix of puzzles and action. Just like this one. Difference being, this has an entire mode dedicated to bashing each other's head in. Can't get more actiony than that. It even drops the whole world exploration aspect and throws you right into the dungeons where you get down to business. But somehow this is less action focused for you? Now I'm confused.
