Any ideas on what if any additional info/blogs/videos we'll get running up to release?

BTB will be after launch so nothing on that.

Forge . . . ?

More REQ packs, probably.

Maps blowout, probably.

Nothing more on the campaign, probably.

I need moooaaaarrr Halo 5 goodness :)

They already said they will discuss Forge before launch.

I honestly don't mind this tiered game mode release. No more half baked modes. Like, we all want a quality product and don't want the game delayed a month or two just so we can stop pouting about BTB and maybe Forge not hitting Oct 27 launch, right? No wants the game delayed just so BTB can be included at launch, right?

I can see the fantastic thread titles about Forge being added a month after release already. (I'm assuming it'll be ready mid November)

I'm curious to see what "significant" improvements can be made. File sharing is a must, and I'd like to think that stuff like AI is probably the most requested feature I've seen for Forge.

I'm wondering if the forge maps we saw in the beta are made using the significant improvements (I enjoyed them a lot) or if there is further stuff since then.

Seriously, none of you want the game delayed so don't act upset over this. Some fake ass concern if I've ever seen it.

I almost never use Forge for anything serious, so I don't care. It does kinda irk me that games aren't the complete package nowadays, with day 1 patches and everything.

I'm just being an ass. Forge has produced maybe 5 good maps over 4 games, I don't care one way or the other, personally.

that'd be about the same number for dev maps but that's kinda beside the point.

playing on maps that can be changed instantly with people who aren't sweating their balls off and complaining makes the multiplayer more consistently enjoyable and less stressful. part of the reason I didn't like the beta is because the people I played it with whined if they died more than 3 times.

customs are chill and forge is a creative outlet above all else. if it's as good as Frankie is implying, there will be many more good maps this time around.

Some kind of terrain tool? Wishful thinking I know, but that's something I've fantasised about since Halo 3.

Maybe I'm just viewing this with some logic.

Like okay, you're a BTB fan and the game launches without it. You get to play an ENTIRE Halo game minus BTB for a month. One month later it is added to the game. If this upsets you that the game is launching without the mode then just wait a month to buy the "complete package" if it makes you feel better.

Same thing for forge.

To be fair, Halo is the last game that should be put on that list. The game has a big SP, cooperative gameplay, Arena MP, Warzone MP, Forge and free MP maps.....This aint no Rainbow six that has 10 maps no campaign , no coop through campaign, no map editor and still costs you the same price.

BTB Is not Forge though; one is a gametype, the other is an entire feature. Again, not a big deal, but it definitely irks me.

That's true and part of the reason why it isn't a big deal. Still annoying for some reason. Maybe I'm still a bit sour after MCC.

Well, nevermind, you will "see it" this month is not the same as you will "play it" this month.

Edit: fuckkkkkk, Jc seeing the error of my ways before I did

Well the game launches the 27th, if it's coming this month it's safe to say it's coming with the game at launch.

Except Frank says we will "see" it this month.
Also, Josh Holmes said a couple days ago "when released, Forge is going to be...". I insist, "when released". Wording isn't reassuring.

Edit : as long as it's available just a few weeks later, I'll be ok with it, though. But clarifications would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure they are releasing modes this way to ensure an excellent level of quality. This seems like a response to the MCC more than anything.

Good point. I know it's a pipe dream, but I wonder if split screen is something they can add post release. Unless there are technical limitations? 30FPS splitscreen is better than no splitscreen.

I am too, but i still appreciate that 343 havent gone the "lets strip the game down and still sell it 70$" route like Ubi have done with R6, EA have done with Battlefront or Activision are doing with BO3 last gen.

Just to point out something, R6 ain't all bad. For example, DLC maps will be free, too, according to what they said.

I believe the gameplay systems are now built around 60fps so I assume a drop to 30fps (outside of loading areas and cutscenes) would literally break the game in some ways.

I certainly am. I still am not able to join parties consistently and I've lost count of how many times I've hard reset the game.

If Forge is delayed to make sure it works, then good. I'll pick it up then, assuming it's a November release and not Q1 or something.

I don't mind some things not shipping with the game day one. I'm going to be busy with finishing the campaign and re-learning the ropes for the first month or so anyway.

However, if Forge doesn't see very significant overhauls I won't bother with it once again. Sure, the simple object scripting in H2A was pretty cool and all, but the available blocks, pieces, and laughable terrain slabs really turned me off. If we were to finally get heightmap editing (like Far Cry has been doing for a decade), proper lighting options, and a robust geometry creating and scaling system maybe I would consider forging. I'm not really into struggling with the lego based system anymore.

I know that this sounds horribly negative, but I truly feel like Forge hasn't really changed much at all since Reach. The block re-usage certainly doesn't help. Impress me 343, please!

That's not negative, it's true. Forge has been iterative for 5 years. H2A forge would have been good if it didn't have framerate problems that rendered most of its pallete unusable.

I'm not expecting wireframes, folders, and copy + paste. Hell, I don't even expect an undo button. But if last year's Halo 5 forge maps foreshadow a leap in quality of the pieces along with a greatly enhanced toolset for manipulating them, then it'll be worth it.

It'll be cool if forges performance meter is now a resolution counter. Would be good to see what kind of dynamic res scaling your map is causing.

I am ok waiting for Forge if it is actually damn good. The downside to a late Forge is that I will probably buy Halo 5 later because of the delay...

Hey dudes and dudettes, I wasn't ragging on the game or 343. I'm just excited about finally getting my hands on the gane in a few weeks, yet there still seems a lot to reveal (or maybe not, keep it a surprise).

I'm still amazed they didn't do an IGN First with it - drip fed the info every few days up until release.
