In general I've maintained that I believe Half-Life 3 is in development, but that I doubt that it's in full production or will ever necessarily come out.

Something based heavily around procedural generation does seem more realistic relative to the number of resources Valve would be likely to put on this project versus the AAA game expectations of 2015 and beyond.

Half-Life: Minecraft Survival Edition or whatever would be a service game I could see Valve making.

The last credible rumour that was bouncing around about the game before "LOL its dead" became the norm was it was open world and a bit RPG-ish but that was a YEARS ago when I last heard it.

Could just be a left over from that iteration from the game that somehow found its way into some SE2 files.
