I'm as big a Bethesda fan as anyone yet even I can see the subpar quality of these leaked shots. I'm a bit surprised that people are defending them...especially considering the game isn't even designed to run at 60fps. I'm a bit saddened by this. The Elder Scrolls games always wowed me graphically when they came out but the Fallout games always came off as looking like an extravagant total conversion mod of the closest Elder Scrolls game with less colors and some pretty rough edges.
I was looking forward to at least decent looking visuals for this round considering it was a generation leap but it seriously looks like it was already finished on last gen hardware. In an age where even shitty budget games can still look pretty damn good, this AAA title stands out as looking straight up poor.
I'm still confident that the content in this game will still be enjoyable and massive...but I also think more than a little bit of it's life can be sucked out if the image quality is this jarring. At least they never showed us any bullshots! Good on them for waiting for the game to be more or less finished before showing it to the world.

"It's Bethesda" as a defence in a thread discussing the technical side of Fallout 4 doesn't work so well when you consider their last game on consoles was Skyrim PS3 and the huge disaster that was.

Bethesda needs to try harder or launch their graphics engine into space. Because it's needs to die and they need to hire good artist and modelers.

Opinions not shrieking DAY 1 or HYPE TRAIN TICKET PLS are considered toxic by an astounding amount of people on Gaf. Wait until the OT when people post some critical stuff and watch that place melt down screaming for bans.
On topic, these shots don't wow but it's basically what you'd expect. I would at least hope this would run at 60fps if it's lacking so many bells and whistles. I wish people would hold these games to a higher technical standard. The idea of playing something that feels as terrible as FO3 in 2015 is horrifying.

The greatest looking game of all time atm is Star Citizen, technically an indie game. Frankly I find "even indie games look better" to be an insulting statement towards indie devs since it implies that they're supposed and/or to look bad.

I was planning on getting this on ps4 and these didn't sway my opinion. Fun world to explore with lots of stuff to do? That's all I need from this series and why I became a fan in the first place.

Even though the screens are compressed to hell and back you can tell that the foliage assets and materials look a shit ton better in fallout 4.

Not that you should pre-order, but the PS4 version is the version that is being sent out for reviews for general purpose review sites.

The funny thing here is that I don't know if it's supposed to be a real baby but because technology limitation it looks like a plastic baby doll, or it's supposed to be a real plastic baby doll in the first place.
To be fair, we expected that Fallout 4 was going to have the same kinds of problems that plague other Bethesda games: poor graphics, glitches, weak writing, questionable design, and so on. The reason that they're worth getting is that they're home to all sorts of great mods that fix all of those problems.
