I actually do care about framerates, but not to the extent that I'd go nuts over what was seen in the video, unless I actually expected it to play like Quake. I won't be playing it on the console anyway, but even if I was, I'd probably rely on VATS more simply because playing any kind of shooter with a controller is almost always awful anyway, unless it's a mostly single-player TPS.

It would be illogical at this point to claim that the Xbox One version is superior to the PS4 version. All we have right now are some video clips that cherrypick choppy sections of PS4 gameplay and smooth sections of Xbox One gameplay. An Xbox One streamer was complaining about framerate issues on his stream yesterday, so it's not like the Xbox One is completely free of these issues.

Hopefully tomorrow Digital Foundry releases their analysis, because unless someone owns both versions, a fair test cannot be made and thus no logical conclusion can be achieved.

I actually just popped in Fallout 3 on the 360 and it looks surprisingly sharp and runs very stable. Seems like my memory of its performance was a lot worse than it actually was. I mean, it's ugly as sin, but it was ugly as sin on the PC as well.

I've had the game on Xbox One since Thursday. 5 hours in and yes, the frame rate is pretty bad. I hope they provide a patch really soon. Other than that, the game is totally awesome!

Yet the XBox One and the PS4 are more closely related in hardware tech (x86) to each other, than the 360 (Power PC) and the Xbox One.

Now tool environment can be an issue, however the general consensus with what is out there in cross platform games heavily favoring the PS4 in not only better resolutions, but performance puts a strike in that theory as well. Especially when every developer even early on said it was super easy porting PC games to the PS4, and getting great performance before optimizations.

This has been par for the course with Bethesda. It is 2015, this is not the complex PS3, no excuses anymore.
