Believe.
If Tantakus is behind this you have no worries there.
I've never played it. Has anyone played that version for tablets, if there is one? Surely that must be pretty intuitive.Funny thing is, it's probably going the best version of the game because of the gamepad.

That release date, though. Wow.
Somebody is always fantasising Nintendo buys ______ company. How did we go from "It should have been on WiiU sooner" to "they should have bought them"??
With MS owning Minecraft, you're going to have to pay for most skins, texture packs and mash-up packs. They might have people vote for platform specific mash-up pack like they did for Playstation consoles, but those won't be free. The game updates have slowed to a crawl too since MS bought them, with only 1 small content update since December.I would hope it uses at least some unique features of the Wii U.
amiibo support would be awesome. And I don't mean a Minecraft line of amiibo, I mean unlocking skins for every existing amiibo I have.
Do it do it.
Who/What is Tantakus?
3 years too late.
I'm gonna go with The theory that Miyamoto just heard of this game last week. There must be a really funny story about why this took so long.

That's true. I do notice that we seem to no longer get any free skins with the skin packs though. You are of course correct but highlighting MS as the reason you have to pay is wrong. We have always had to pay for most content on the console version. They're not the villain here.
I'm actually hopeful a deal can be reached to enable Amiibo unlocking of skins as an optional extra to outright buying. Its the texture packs where they will make the money. Classic Mario is crying out to be made!!!!
They are also known as Straight Right, who did the Wii U ports of Mass Effect 3 and Deus Ex: Human Revolution DC!
Tantalus have been around for 20 years and made numerous games on Nintendo systems, last gen they worked on many DS versions of games with THQ, Vivendi, etc.
This is going to sell a lot. Minecraft with the gamepad will be huge.
I don't see how this would sell a lot, it is waaaaay too late.
I don't know yet if I should be excited. I own Minecraft since the end of the Alpha on PC and have yet to really dig into it..
Is there something on the consoles that's missing on the PC version? Is PC still Java based and doesn't have Splitscreen? If so, then I might look into this version..
I would hope it uses at least some unique features of the Wii U.

A minecraft clone launched on the eShop this June and it's still in the Wii U's eShop top 20 and on the all time eShop charts on spot 15 (at least in Germany). Minecraft is successful with kids. How many kids do you think own a Vita compared to a Wii U?I don't see how this would sell a lot, it is waaaaay too late.
I don't see the gamepad as an advantage, you can already play Minecraft on Vita with a better resolution/screen.
it's never too late. vita got minecraft later than all the other platforms as well, but it was instantly a bestseller (I think)
The Windows 10 version is the new non-Java port to Windows, but the Java one is still updated as the main one as far as I know. The Win 10 one allows multiplayer with players on mobile, though.
Microsoft funded their console ports (pre-buyout) and bought temporary exclusivity. The moment the exclusivity ended Sony pushed hard to get the PS3 and Vita versions out. Both companies got Minecraft because they wanted it, not because they lucked out and Mojang smiled upon them. If Nintendo wanted Minecraft on their hardware, they could have gotten it ages ago, just like MS and Sony. You all blame Nintendo, but it's not Nintendo who develop the game. It's entirely up to Mojang who they sell the rights to the game to.

Having to take your eyes off of the world to craft is something I prefer. It adds to the survival horror aspects of the game for me.Wii U has two screens....
Every other verison you have to switch between inventory and gameplay screens. Wii u should let you have both open. Like in wind waker.

So yes, it is on Nintendo.
That's Gex (enter the Gekko), not Yoshi, silly.Ones on the right look nasty. Yoshis should be a customised horse variant.

Imagine Amiibos giving you some random material every day.
That would be fucking awesome
I'm frustrated because I don't get the reference. Help. There's already a Minecraft stage in Smash, so it was inevitable.
