I don't even know what to say that. Jeff pretty much summed it up. Not necessarily the guys I trust for Fallout news and notes, even though I disagree with Jeff's review of the console version of F4. It's an opinion.

Halo machinima series. The first few seasons started out as jokes and all which was great, then it decided to get into some big overarching plot and It lost me.

It's extra crazy because he specifically gave the game 3 stars directly on account of console performance, the presence of a simultaneous 4 star review for the PC version seems to automatically invalidate their assertion that Gerstmann was being harsh for "da clickz"
If anything, it would be negligent for Gerstmann to just stick with the 4 star review and say "fuck it, it's probabbly fine on consoles" He actually went to extra effort to check out all versions, and he reflected this by having two scores.
You wonder if these clowns even went to check the site the review was hosted on...but seeing as they were doing pre release endorsements for F4, I doubt fact checking would get in the way of shitting on people who stick to their guns.

I go to Rooster Teeth for their original shows. Not for their opinion on anything gaming.

But yeah gaming review sites like to shit on each other and call each other out all the time. I don't think there is any actual hate or bad intentions
This instance is particulary funny though, since they are not a review site. They are a company that is paid to make ads and videos for video game companies. They make all those Gamestop in-game ads that play on the TVs at Gamestops. This company has many different branches though, sure, but the people on this podcast make money from the games they are defending. They are "in bed" (if that is not too strong a term) with Microsoft VERY heavily. They show up in promotional material for the XBO and everything. They aren't a group that shouldn't be taken seriously when it comes to their critical opinions on games, due to how connected they are to many of the companies on a business level.
The problem I have with them going on a rant like this is that they have millions of fans, and their fans are absolutely going to favor their opinions over anyone else's even if they really probably shouldn't.

GB doesn't have to do reviews to get clicks, they have a sub service and review what they feel drawn to so their whole argument is invalid.

I enjoy the RT podcast too but The Patch was always garbage even before this. Rooster Teeth is at its best when it's not about video games.

I let a hearty laugh fly when I read Gerstmann's reply to the guy who pointed it out. Honestly, as someone who enjoys FO4, I have no issues with his review of it; he honestly points out flaws with the game that make sense. I still find the game fun, even if he gave it a 3/5.
Nuanced criticism is a good thing. Making fun of someone for it (even if it's a light jab about sipping wine and eating cheese) is probably better said off-air.

Yes, pretty sure they are connected to RWBY as well which is the only reason I know anything about them at all...well that is the only thing I know. I didn't even know they were connected to Red v Blue.
I used to like Rooster Teeth when they were still basically just Red versus Blue. Stopped watching after a couple seasons, but it seems like they turned into corporate puppets/fanboys.

Why is it that people excuse bugs and glitches in a game like Fallout because it's "expected" but any other game with game breaking glitches gets torn apart?
What's even worse is that Jeff gave the game a 4/5 (PC score), and then docked a point on consoles for the performance. He liked the game overall, so they just look like fools

Non issues like this makes me glad I'm not into the giant bomb "fandom" like some other people.
The regular podcast that is about anything and everything can be fun to listen to, depending on who is on it. But I agree that most gaming stuff they do is pretty bad. A lot of misinformation being spouted in The Patch.
I like some of their let's play videos though.
And I see nothing wrong with that, game shouldn't get a free pass because it's Fallout. If the performance is crappy and there's a lot of bugs, it doesn't deserve a great score. That shit needs to be called out and not ignored.
The fact that she knows about the Mixlr makes me think she listens to it.
