Not putting much stock in it, but they're likely close just by default given it's supposed to be out early 2016.

Probably want it out of the way of March at least since Square's Hitman releases then, not to mention Uncharted and The Division, and the latter half of February is kind of packed too. I can see April, but if they want to get it out sooner rather than later, I could see late Jan or early Feb.

Too early, maybe wait and release on March 18th.

Wonder how much it's sold in a month worldwide. We know US 200k, UK was 44k first week, then read after a few weeks was said to be 70-80k. I'd expect around 500-600k worldwide.

Ahead of schedule, it seems.

But with the abysmal sales of the XBone version, makes total sense.

I'm looking forward to trying it on the PC.

They said "early 2016" AFAIK.

Edit:

How much did it sell?

What's exactly wrong and bad with these numbers? These look good to me, idk.

Ah, Amazon France, the website that brought us listings for Killzone Shadowfall PC, Sunset Overdrive PC, Forza Horizon 2 PC, Bloodbourne PC and the entire Xbox One console as PC software.

Not that ROTR PC isn't gonna happen but yeah Amazon France is anything but a reliable source. :p

I believe any game made before 1997 is "essentially cave man art."
Well shit, I was planning on buying it this week. But having that framerate fluctuate in the 20's sounds a lot less appealing to playing it on the PC.

Truth to be told, these pages are usually barebone with no informations. This one seems to feature a lot more informations.

Those are incredibly low sales for an heavily marketed AAA release.
200.000 in a whole month ? Woah.

"Heavily marketed" ?? lol

The huge drop in both US and UK from Tomb Raider (2013) to Rise of the Tomb Raider look good to you?

Comparing multi-platform reboot release with Xbox exclusive. (Both PS3 and 360 were huge when reboot was released, and Xbox One is not)
But nice try.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
Not only that but Sunset Overdrive PC and the actual PS4 console itself listed as coming out for Windows.

Sure -- "e.g." does mean "for example", after all. ;) What I'm saying is that while Amazon FR employees seem almost incapable of tagging a product correctly, I'm not aware of similar shenanigans with release dates (placeholders aside).

There is no way that the rest of the world nearly doubled sales.

UK must be on close to 100k after 4 weeks. We know US is 200k so I don't think another 100k for the rest of Europe is stretch even if the XB1 is not selling to well. Perhaps 50 k for rest of world, so that's 450k, I said 500k as a generous estimate. Around 400k is not crazy talk, please.

If they release it in January, they'll definitely charge $60 AND charge for DLC. I'm pretty sure most PC users will tell them to fuck off and wait for the price to dramatically drop a month later.

What's really a shame and just shows how much of a disaster sales are for Rise of the Tomb Raider is that the reboot sold over 3.4 million copies in the first month.

Rise of the Tomb Raider probably hasn't even sold 10% of that yet.

You didn't say that, you said you would "expect" 500-600k.

Yes, that is crazy talk.

That would require MS to know the game actually existed in the first place

There's around 2 weeks of December to add onto those US numbers too. I don't think ~400k is completely out of the picture but it's gonna depend a lot on how well it's done in December which we don't have the numbers for yet.

But they bundled it. And put it in their E3 video. And. And. And.

The deal must have gone sour somewhere along the way. It's the only thing that makes sense unless you want to think Microsoft was super incompetent.

It was, unless you are simply trying to damage control those pathetic numbers. Multiple trailers, ads everywhere and the game was not going into market as unknown IP. I mean surely you were expecting much higher numbers than this, it was supposed to be a big title for Microsoft and thus far I would not label it as a box office hit.

Amazon France will be bound to be right some day
Yeah, you know what they say about broken clocks.

Be great if it's true but it seems a bit too early to be likely.

I'm expecting it to release around March/April and PS4 end of the year when they're "allowed" to release it.

That soon, huh?

Is there a chance for a PS4 release earlier than 1 year of wait?
I doubt in a year i will still be interested on buying it, or at least until i find it months later for 20 bucks.

It was marketed but far from heavily and you know that! Just look at the other AAA games and all the promo they got, ROTTR got like 30-40% of that. Far from heavily.

I imagine piss poor sales get them out of their timed exclusivity contract. only way January makes sense.

It's the PC release so not really. When the launch windows for the non-Xbox versions was confirmed it should have been evident that it was the PS4 version that MS most wanted out of the picture.

Edit: Essentially what I'm saying is that this is inline with what was previously announced so I don't think it's indicative of a clause that would allow an earlier release for the PS4 as well.

No, they wanted the pc version out the way as well, otherwise it would already be out.
