That photo isn't even of the new studio team. We have no confirmation of who is or isn't with Kojima other than a couple of people who have confirmed on Twitter. That photo was taken in October 2009: http://ameblo.jp/kp-blogcast/page-370.html
This ain't Dramafever man. Get a degree in computer science focusing on video game design and/or digital art, work your way through the industry and develop a resume as a hard working, intelligent employee with great ideas, get some quality references and some great games under your belt, follow Kojima on twitter and express your taste of global esoteric design and giant robots and then maybe, just maybe he'll let you handle the Estonian launch of his next title.
Just kidding bro. Just answering silly with silly 😜
Someone set the timer for 5 years and wake me up when it's finished.
Could someone explain to me why PC isn't a competition to PS4? In every one of these Console Exclusive threads you'll see one or two posters going "Fuck this, what's the point in my PS4 when I can play this on PC? I'm selling mah shit!" Isn't that competition right there?

It is competition and they probably do see it that way too but the cost of locking something as a full exclusive as opposed to a late port to PC must not be worth it. SCE builds a good relationship with developers and that means listening to their requests and demands.

They aren't really competing though. Sony knows this. The two platforms aren't direct competitors, and they are barely in-direct competitors.
The truth is, there is a subset of PC users who will not purchase consoles, because the natural feature-set of a console is not the same as the natural feature set of the PC. The two markets, and the games that do well on these separate platforms are very different. Not just that, but the genres that do overlap between the two, usually have very different conditions that determine how successful any release could potentially be.

I'm saying that the natural appeal of consoles & PC are very different, which means that the reasons someone would invest in a PC versus a PS4, and vice versa, are also different. They aren't really competing with one another, as much as we think they are.

Because Sony need to weigh up the amount of people who would do that, compare it to the amount of money a full exclusive would cost, and then weigh that against what their primary objective is.
As it stands you can't play Uncharted on PC, you can't play Kingdom Hearts on PC etc. Look how late they are got the FFXIII games after everyone who wanted the console version has the console version, same with the old school FF games. It's competition but not really because their's no primary backer for it. It's just there for a few extra dollars for consumers after they've got what they can from console gamers.

I knew Kojima was popular due to MGS but I don't think I've seen someone gaming related in the industry (not streamers/youtubers) with over 1 million followers on twitter.
Shu one of the most loved people in the industry only has 210K followers.
Quite crazy to me tbh, considering he doesn't put out games that often as well

Legacy goes a long way. Kojima games, because of infrequent releases, are events. I think there's been a lot of support because of what happened as well. He's a designer with fantastic pedigree to the point they attached his name to Castlevania, despite limited involvement (think "Quentin Tarantino presents Hostel"). Kojima's name on a game may not sell it, but it certainly generates interest.
Also another 418, 000 followers on his Japanese account!

PS4 is where the short-term day 1 sales are at. The ones that foster recognition. PC is the long tail of sales that keeps on making serious dough with every Steam-sale. Developers need both in order to sustain themselves. Sony listens to this and allows developers to get their games out there. Microsoft is slowly getting there but they're still very touchy about it. Hence why more people partner with Sony.
