15 minutes into the GB quick look and I'm bailing. It's shown me enough to be confident about a purchase, and I'm scared Brad will let something slip (although the game seems complex enough that one slip of the tongue should be ok)

Looks great too. PC or PS4.... I think maybe PC, if the game has decent 21:9 support - the landscape should suit that wide aspect ratio.

I watched the entire QL, and he doesn't spoil anything at all. He actually ends it early to avoid that.

The Giant Bomb quick look was exactly what I wanted! Wow, this game is so gorgeous to walk around in. I am going to enjoy the hell out of being in those environments. I am nothing but pumped about getting into this game myself and exploring. I really appreciate Brad being careful not to show too much, as much of the joy of playing the game will be to make your own discoveries and have your own revelations.

Well... they do kind of spoil one "quirk" about the puzzles that we weren't aware of previously. And another "quirk" of the user interface that has not been obvious in other videos. So, be advised.

That said, they do take care to not show any puzzle solutions that haven't been seen in other preview footage.

I'm actually listening to the Quick Look but not watching, so I can hear their impressions without seeing all of the early puzzles.

(I actually watched for 10 minutes, but am averting my eyes for the rest)

e: a ways into the QL, Jeff reacts to something with "fffffffffuck" and Brad says "This only scratches the surface" (paraphrased)

listening but not watching the QL is recommended if you want to go in as blind as possible.

Yeah i did the same and that totally the way to do it!

Something that struck me today...

The very beginning of the game.

You stand in a tunnel, with a panel a certain distance ahead of you.

You must walk in a straight line to get to the panel and interact with it.

The only thing you can do on the panel is draw a straight line. Thus mimicking the action that you (the player) just took in walking up to the panel.

I really wonder in what ways this idea will grow throughout the game. I keep having vague thoughts about how the contents of the panels could be abstractions of reality. My mind keeps coming back to the panels we've seen in many previews where you must separate the white cubes from the black cubes. That concept of separation could mean a LOT of things once you start considering the panel as allegory or even social commentary.

I can't help but think that we're meant to think about the puzzles on this level!

Does anyone know what time the DRM free version goes live on the Humble Store? That's the one I ended up purchasing, both to get more money to Blow and for the charity

I started doing the same thing but began to worry that they would give away one of the solutions by the way they spoke about it.

Are you guys sure that it's 100% spoiler free to listen to?

Blow's said the Steam version and DRM-free version should go live at the same time but he's not sure.

I watched the whole thing and yes, Brad very specifically avoids talking about anything mechanically that you couldn't discover in the first 20 minutes with the game

There's one very minor mechanical thing Jeff stumbles on towards the end that I guess if you really truly wanted to be completely spoiler free might teach you a concept, but its also because he found the tutorial puzzle for that concept so I don't think its too bad

Which of the biomes are you guys most interested in exploring first?

I want to explore
the mountain
first, but I feel that my time would be more productive elsewhere, like
the beach caves

6pm GMT while the US isn't observing DST, but Blow is going to try and move up the unlock time to midnight PT, which is a touch over 12 hours from now. If that doesn't happen, then the wait is a further 10 hours.

No preload on PC/Steam? :/

The switch may be flicked later today.

For some weird reason my wireless gold PS headset isn't working on my PS4, but it's working on my laptop. This may be a deciding factor in getting it on PC instead of console, despite maybe having to crank settings down/play at sub 60fps

Agreed. It's much better.

BTW, so glad to see the sales figures you mentioned above. That's terrific. Glad my concerns about the price were misplaced.
And now it just passed The Division to take the #2 Top Seller spot.

And now I think JaseC's the better OT title. It's mysterious and yet is also a perfect reflection of the game. And just really fitting because that particular puzzle and the opening of the game has been around forever.

Yeah, it's not a 'small thing' at all, haha. That, wow... I'm pretty speechless. Great catch.

I would recommend anyone who didn't see it already not look at it, but I'd guess if you're like me and the other poster, there'll be quite a few who see it right away. And it made me want the game even more. What an amazing game and I haven't even played it.

Yep... Thought it would be like those small "visual easter eggs" like the praying woman, but that... Uh, that post should probably be deleted.

Are there browsers where spoilers don't work? If so i will remove that picture.
