LEGO Avengers on Vita/3DS has exclusive content, open world, no loading screens

I wonder how it will compare with Driver Renegade. That had a pretty big open city, there was just nothing in it, apparently unlike LEGO Avengers. Maybe the catch will be an awful framerate?

Wel, in the screenshots it does look a bit empty. So maybe like Lego City Undercover, pop-in could be apparent with cars and characters just loading right in front of you.

Something that maybe in such small screen and for the general audience (which I include myself :p) won't be a huge issue, as the overall focus would still be on you flying or driving around the city on the 3DS (and Vita :p).

I have every single one of these Lego games for my Vita. Let's just hope that the didn't got over ambitious, because the previous iterations always had the perfect balance between fun factor and replay value. I don't want my favorite pass time to become a chore, like some Lego games on home consoles.

Batman 3 on Vita was fantastic and ran a LOT better than Batman 2 so I'm a little worried about framerate/resolution for this now.

Batman 3 and Marvel Super Heroes are, by far, the best ones.

If the Vita version's any good I'll be keeping that thing just a little longer. For pretty much the entirety of the console's lifespan I've wanted actual ports of the console games on Vita, not the downgraded (then top-down beat-em-up for some reason) 3DS ports.

Enjoyed the PS4 version of Marvel Super Heroes. Will probably buy this on Vita for the first time since Chima was I found supremely disappointing.

Nice to see them going the extra mile.

Now I wonder if those screenshots aren't taken from a New 3DS. It's kinda strange that they could totally get rid of LCU's fog.
Well, Chase Begins is nearly 3 years old and started development even before. So maybe they managed to squeeze some more stuff out of it.

Plus while Chase Begins did had fog, it wasn't as prominent in some situations and screenshots...
But was in others...
So..who knows. :p

They've actually done a bit of pre-release promo work for the handheld versions. Interviews and dev blogs with screenshots below:

Will There Be Any PS Vita Specific Features?

Rather than being a port of the console experience, the handheld version acts more like a companion to the console game, exploring alternative scenes and different aspects of the Marvel Universe and iconic movie moments. In the main game, both the handheld and console versions cover the same MCU storyline from the films, but there’s so much going on in the film sequences that there are a dozen ways you could approach adapting them into a level, and in many places we have deviated to focus on different characters or set pieces

Bummer.

Well looks like there some fog effect here.

The Director of the Vita and 3DS versions is pretty chatty on Twitter (@_SteveThornton), might be worth asking him if you have questions about the game.

(Disclaimer: I work on the game but Steve is the one to talk to about it, not me.)

Vita owners have been fooled before by sweet-talking developers. They're always talking about pushing the Vita to the limits, but let's be honest: it's all code language for pushing the 3DS to the limit because that is what the Vita version is handcuffed to.

Make me a Lego game that's on par with the PSP versions from back in the day and then we'll talk.

Lego Batman PSP still stomps on both Batman games on Vita.

First Vita Lego game was a direct ps3 port.

Last few lego games; batman3 and jurassic world were enormous fun. Fun is what it's all about.

No it wasn't. First Lego Vita game was Lego harry Potter Years 5-7 and it was a direct port of 3DS version, which was in turn a up-port o the DS version.

Lego Batman 3 and Lego Jurassic park returned to classic 3D gameplay but still were lacking content and gameplay of the console versions. Best handheld Lego game was Lego Pirates of the Caribbean 3DS, which was a direct port of Wii version.

This game is a slaphazard reskin of an original DS title called COP: The Recruit and was made by VD-Dev, the same two-man studio that made Ironfall Invasion and a bunch of other technically advanced handheld games dating back to GBC. I don't think there's any comparing the two, really.
