Dragon Quest Heroes 2 screenshots

I saw a lot of complaining about the PC port of DQH1, so I decided not to get it. Is there any hope that a potential PC port of this will be any better?
There was? I thought it was considered a solid port that at worst was on par with what was offered on the PS4?

Given recent KT ports, I'd keep my expectations tempered.

Damn. That really sucks to hear. I saw them getting lumped in with Namco when people were railing against them for that awful Symphonia port, I can't recall seeing specific complaints about KT ports, just that DQH1 wasn't good.

Hope they shape up, because I'd love to give them money for good products.

Keyart revealed last year is now updated with the new protagonists

It was very lacking in options, plenty of users reported odd stuttering and performance dips with hardware that should be superior to the console.

It was easily their best PC port to date, but it's still a very middling effort.

I get the feeling Toriyama wasn't involved in these character designs...

Totally agree. They look like they were created with some kind of face generator, their proportions don't look very Toriyama-like either.

Still looking forward to it.

wait, is there official confirmation this has local co-op or is this like toukiden where its mon hun co-op aka 4 ps4s/vitas/whatevers*
I'm betting on the mon hun style over the local co-op.

Bought DQH1 at launch and played about an hour. Think I'll give this a miss and just wait for them to release the proper DQ games.

Hopefully it gets localized at all. DQH1 didn't exactly sell like gangbusters.
Localized games do not always need to sell gangbusters. They can consider the extra sales from the west as a bonus on top of the brunt of sales in Japan and what not.

Of course, I am not saying that is without a doubt the case here but it is something to consider.

Still trying to platinum the first game (that 3 final post-game battles are pretty damn hard to me), but I'm already waiting for this one

I thought the main character from the first game looked like a dork and actually was a dork. At least the MC male here isn't so plain.

Wow those are awful, awful character designs. Cesare is OK, the rest is terrible.

And wow, a Red Sonja rip-off, very creative. *eye-roll*

"He's the Slime Commander."
"Ha! That's Major Healix to goo... and don't goo forget it! *slurp*"
Fixed ;)

4 player co-op. so yup (i'm still not sure about Local co-op (via splitscreen) but iirc Cross-play is a thing with vita/ps4/ps3(i think its for this system in japan)

Wow, really? I'm extremely excited now!

No US release date announced, right? Can we expect it this year?

Really like the designs for this one, but I'm gonna keep an eye on what changes are being made to the gameplay for it. I kind of got sick of the first one by the end and immediately deleted it once I finished it. Hopefully there are some tweaks made for this one to be more enjoyable.

Still playing through the first one, wish I had picked the girl though. The male lead is so annoying with his dorky overthinking personality.

Just started it though so hopefully it gets better and I'll buy the second one. favorite so far is the chick that uses her fists.

Does this game have a single-player mode?

I recall SE saying during the initial reveal that there will be a heavy emphasis on MP for this sequel.

According to an older interview, it will not be a Warriors-style game.

Really?

What kind of game will this be then?

I ended up getting the Plat and really enjoying (and becoming addicted) to DQ Heroes.

But that's not to say there isn't HUGE room for improvement. So I hope this is more than just a reskin or simply new levels.

They said that about the first game too, but in the end it was definitely more Warriors than not.

Not digging the designs of the two heroes, but I enjoy the other two party members! Guy with a big sword and gal with a big axe! Good enough for me!

I spy a couple of DQ characters on the side of that big promo art piece. If anything, Alena and Kiryl are back. I can't remember who the other two DQ characters are.

The dude with the purple mohawk is Carver from DQVI, while the redhead is Maribel from DQVII.

And I agree. The designs for the lead "male" & female protagonists look awful, but I'm digging the designs for Cesare & Orneze.

why are action games afraid of better move sets/Inputs?

I am pretty certain that this is just an Omega Force thing rather than a character action games thing. The vast majority of their games consist of mostly simple Square-Triangle combinations for attacking actions, so this game probably would not be any different.

Thanos acquires the fully powered Infinity Gauntlet in The Avengers: Infinity War, but loses when all the superheroes team up together to stop him.
LOVING those character designs.
