That's definitely a YMMV thing, but really ebgames.ca is usually delivered to my house on launch day (via Purolator).

Yeah, I e-mailed them about getting the 20% on my Fire Emblem SE, and their reply was just a copy-paste of their price matching policy. I wonder if someone even read my message.

How have peoples experiences been with best buy delivering collectors editions? If my collectors edition box is damaged I'm gonna be pissed.
80% chance it'll be damaged. Majority of the time they'll send stuff in a bubble mailer or one of those flat boxes for books. It's kinda funny when you order something large and they use a comically large bubble mailer. They do use boxes once in a blue moon, though.

I hope this doesn't mean the store copies will be delayed, I already made accommodations for it on Friday.
Stores should already have their stock of games in their backrooms (I know the BB I work at received a shipment of Birthright & Conquest today).
I find Best Buy hit and miss. I've ordered multiple blu-ray steelbooks (most recently, Better Call Saul) and they have arrived in perfect condition. Last year I bought Bayonetta 2 and it came with a crack in the plastic case.

I must resist the urge to go to the store tomorrow because I know they won't let me have it.
While I'm at it, how does your BB handles in store preorders? Do you hold one of them in your back room like regular reserve and pick ups? What I used to do is that I'd reserve a copy of a game I want during the midnight of the release day (since the website would update itself) and pick it up in store.
EB is pretty good with me. I always get the big box with lots large bubble bags treatment from them. Amazon seems to depend on how you get it shipped it out. Lot of bubble envelopes.

Out of stock on mobile. And I hate that checker. it's so freakin' slow and often hangs.
12 of each version (so 24 total).
Um, to my understanding (as I don't deal with that stuff) if someone pre-orders, once we have them the pre-orders are collected and kept behind customer service until picked up (or until a certain period of time has passed if the person is a no show and they've been contacted).
I guess it would be similar to doing an online reserve, but technically it's two different teams that handle those things.

Yep. I grabbed those $65 CAD roundtrip tickets when they were up. Pokemon SoCal Regionals as primary reason for trip. Also gonna go for League of Legends Championship Series (My favourite team Cloud 9 vs least favourite team TSM this weekend!) and try to check out the Hearthstone Winter Preliminaries.
None. AFAIK, supply of that is limited to the online pre-orders.

That I'm not sure. It seems to be a thing that BB does with online is shortly before something releases they seem to list it as out of stock. I don't know why, unless it is to ensure they suddenly don't get far more orders than they purchased from the manufacturer maybe?

That's a very reasonable guess, the demand for this game is probably high. Though I still remember with SMT IV and p4a ultimax being able to be reserved on the midnight of the release day

Best Buy is sold out online of regular editions this week. I don't think it will be impossible to find though.
Good to hear it'll happen for all those who ordered during that sale. I ended up contacting the Better Business Bureau last week after a few unsuccessful attempts at trying to reason with Best Buy Canada Customer Service and explain how the 30% off the $99.99 placeholder price was misleading consumers on the actual savings earned. They should be honouring 30% off the actual $79.99 price and not fleecing consumers.
I received an email from an "Executive CSR" yesterday evening (with a lot less detail than that forum post) stating they'd be adjusting my order accordingly. Think I might have also missed a phone call from them.
In other news...
I couldn't find the post(s), but I think one or more people were looking for a New Nintendo 3DS Pokémon 20th Anniversary Bundle.
I plan to cancel my order with Amazon.ca. It's just regular price; $240 + 13% HST here in Ontario. If I cancel my order, does Amazon.ca make it available for someone else to pre-order?

Nintendo games do sometimes disappear for a week or so until a second shipment hits. If you look hard enough you will still find a copy though.
I don't think it's anything to stress about. Finding a game day one should be easy.

The SE is pretty much non existent here as I don't think it will have any in store presence
It doesn't look like the patterns I seen for other games. It appears as complely sold out on Best Buy's website
