I'm going with it having a 3.68 tflops GPU from moving to 14nm from 28nm & fitting 36CUs where it used to be 18 CUs.
Hahahaha
No fucking way lol

PS4k sounds like a glorified PS4 Slim. 4k media capabilities, maybe include and have more HDMI/USB ports, consider VR gaming by incorperating the VR box inside, maybe an HDMI in port, a better HDD maybe. But ultimately running games better is the least likely.

My most educated guess is that the TFLOPS will change but not dramatically while the HDMI 2.0 would be in place along with some other bells-n-whistles. Similarly priced at today's market value. 4k streaming should be within the realm, but nowhere near 4k gaming. Probably can ensure a good FPS click for VR whereas the base PS4 would probably struggle. I can see marketing for "added FX" from games but the same resolution. Perhaps more consistent framerates too.
Problem is wouldn't the system be extremely bandwidth starved? Unless they double the bus from 256 bit to 512. (Doubt it)I'm going with it having a 3.68 tflops GPU from moving to 14nm from 28nm & fitting 36CUs where it used to be 18 CUs.
Not at all, it's the same apu just running at a higher clock speed. Thus better framrates. And how would games use it ?
They cannot cut out "old" PS4´s with new games.
Games must run on both PS4 and PS4K
So devs would have to make 2 different versions of the game. Maybe 2 sets of textures. Different Level auf Antialiasing and so on.
Well ... why not
Is this going to be a bombshell announcement Sony's going to make at E3?
People keep bringing things like this up. Would be a Pretty big FU to early adopters looking forward to PSVR.

Devs need to target a spec, and that will likely be the better PS4, which means current PS4 owners get a worse version of a given game on the same platform. There will not be PS4. There will be a PS4 and a better PS4. It fractures customer base, games, performance, media coverage, you name it. It divides a platform into two systems.
A 4x Leap would be PS5 territory.
There'd be no reason to brief game developers if it only had those things. The fact that they briefed game developers and even told them that it would be more powerful suggests it will have more power to make games run better.
4k on ps4 looks real nice.

That doesn't change it that devs will have multiple hardware specs to address and that the current owners are getting something different. Gb color did this. Failed.

A game or Blu Ray?
36CUs with the same bandwidth as the PS4 Ram & the GPU is clocked the same as the PS4
if this is a movie forum then yes blu ray

That'd be one expensive refreshHBM/HBM2 preferably or bust.
Wonder if they'll switch to GDDR5X. Doesn't make much sense to upgrade the GPU without a bump in bandwidth.

But a sexy one! So it's def worth it.That'd be one expensive refresh
PS4 memory is clocked at 5500mhz so it has a theoretical bandwith of 176gb/s.
However it seems it can only go up to 140gb/s.

All I want is for this model to support external HDDs. Please Sony.
Teasing isn't cool. PM me.
Interesting. Given you have seen this game it must be a first party AAA game because even select third parties don't have kits yet!
Can't wait to see what the specs are.

It mentions a more powerful GPU. Which in turn would improve VR. A more powerful GPU would benefit anything devs want it to
