While IDK if it was nerfed on 3DS (still haven't bought this version), Shieks water shield seems to make most missions safe to get a A rank damage wise. Especially with imprisoned fights.

Are the adventure map A rank requirements the same as on Wii U?

Kill 1200
No more than 4-8hearts of damage taken
Finished in less then 15 minutes

I think the water shield is nerfed. Seems to go out more often on average. And it doesn't save you from the "don't get hit" missions.

1200 KOs still required.
Can't take more than 4000 damage (as reported on the pause menu), though it seems to be 8000 on the top two rows or so.
Limit is 20 minutes now, to compensate the lower enemy density. I think time trials were also extended to account for this.

I can assure you that most of the missions still have the 15 minutes requirement. There are hard missions around with more lenient limits (I believe it's 1000 KO's/20 minutes/10.000 damage taken for those), but most missions still rock the regular limit (1200 KO's, 15 minutes, 4000 damage taken).

Most on which map though? A page ago, where I posted about a glitch, I definitely took more than 5,000 damage and still got an A on it. And other challenges definitely gave a B for exactly 4,000 damage.

Thanks for all the info. What's a good ranged attack for Fi? She has a battle where she needs to take down an imprisoned in a confined area and the third round of stomps always knocks down my hp.

Use her combo where she transforms in a sword and swings around, I believe is XXXXXY

Anyway any tips to beat the dont get hit missions in the master quest map? I dread them since they are normal missions but a single hit drops you to half a heart :/

Been getting back into the game recently in anticipation for the DLC and finally got to try out the new characters in-depth now that I've started on the Wind Waker map. Tetra and King Daphnes are okay, not particularly ambitious but not awful either. Daphnes kind of feels like a faster Ruto. Skull Kid is pretty fun but Toon Link is my favorite, his final combo where he spins around and just decimates everybody is great.

I also like the Wind Waker map a lot better than the first map, mainly because it's more focused around pure action than anything else. Most of the missions basically boil down to "kill a bunch of enemies before the other guy/within a time limit". It also shows just how broken the fairies are, those things + Young Link's ability to turn yellow meter into green meter is a recipe for mass destruction.

Man, I need to actually unlock the ability to play on the Wind Waker map. It says I haven't obtained all the items necessary for the battle. I did get a sword for Link early on that has the Hammer+ ability. Doesn't do anything, of course. I've cleared all the tiles on the first Adventure Map, which is more than I did on the Wii U version. It must be because it's definitely easier this time around.

That sounds odd. Did you finish Legends mode first, including the new Wind Waker chapters?

You probably need the hammer item. You get it from legends mode. You'll need to clear cias story and probably linkles, as well as the main story mode in order to play the WW stages.


You'd need the hammer for any of the stages involving the new bosses, so it makes sense to block you from playing without it.

Today is DLC day! Getting excited! Do we know what we have to do to play as Medli? I only ask because I still have yet to beat the first adventure mode map..

I think I messed up the DLC... I mistakenly went into the Extras menu to the DLC section before downloading the update, and while I couldn't download anything new there (the only option was for the season pass which I had already purchased), upon exiting the menu a bunch of blank notifications popped up saying "You received!" with no name or picture or anything. I assume these were the My Fairy outfits, because I seem to be missing them after downloading the update... =/ Anyone else have this issue, too? What can I do to get my outfits??

I'm pretty sure the pop-ups said you unlocked the new Master Windwaker map, and the outfits are probably on that map for you to unlock.

I got those notifications after I downloaded the update from the eShop, though. I never got any notifications for My Fairy outfits after that, and I don't appear to have any of the 16 new outfits, either. I hope my save file isn't messed up now, because I've put a lot of time into this game... =/

Just checked myself. You don't "get" any new fairy outfit from the dlc. You have to unlock them on that new Master Wind Waker Map.

The "You received!" messages you got were definitely from the Wind Waker map unlocking. It just triggered twice because you downloaded the update after you downloaded the dlc, which automatically happens when you enter the in-game shop.

Medli is really good, clearly a character designed for 1v1. You can juggle enemies for ages with her air dodge.

I think you just have to have it enabled in the settings.

Lol I did this too. Am I screwed? I thought it was like Smash where it downloads and installs the update for you if you go online in-game.

You have to be connected to the Internet, have Spot pass enabled, then close the 3ds and put it in sleep mode. The spot pass data only downloads in sleep mode, so close the lid until you see a blue light.

Actually you may get the blue light while the 3ds is on and playing, I'm not sure... Just close the lid and wait though, it'll pop up.

So I've been playing a bit of the Master Wind Waker Map now (still working on the first Adventure Map, so I haven't played the normal Wind Waker Map at all yet), and...I was expecting more missions to use the new Wind Waker stages, but so far I've seen none. Are there even any missions on the new stages at all? 'Cause if not that's a bummer, I was hoping to see more of those stages outside of the end of Legend mode.

Fyi, if you know there is spotpass content out there for HWL, you can hit 'Check for Spotpass Data' under Network Settings and you'll get the stuff right away even if you don't have spotpass enabled.

They only appear in the actual Wind Waker Adventure map so far (and it's mostly the island set, the dungeon only starts popping up by the time you're reaching the locations of the actual Earth and Wind temples on the map). I haven't played the Wind Waker Master Quest map yet though.

I just realized, the Master Wind Waker Map is also available on Wii U, right? I assume that's why the new stages aren't in it... I finally unlocked the Great Sea Map, though, so at least the new stages are in that.

No, it's not available on Wii U. Wii U is only getting the characters.

Aw man , so something weird happened and I didn't get the 500,000 rupees and Fairy Food. So I got those prizes when I was in mid mission, and I quit and resumed the mission a few times, and once I cleared the mission it said that I had received 500,000 ruppees at the mission cleared screen along with the Fairy Food... And then when I get back to the main menu I go to the shop and I don't have the money, just the normal 100k I got from my last battle and I do t have any of the fairy food as well.

Which is also weird because I got the medal for collecting a million ruppees too! Lol oh well, I guess it's some glitch where if you received the prizes in the middle of a resume battle, you don't actually get it. Bummer


Also the DLC pricing makes no sense. It's .99 but that season pass is freaking $15 for five map packs. Is the .99 a special limited price?

Master Wind Waker is so cheap because:
A. it doesn't include two new weapons/characters like the other packs do
B. The Adventure mode map is a harder remix of the Great Sea map rather than having totally new assets and gimmicks like the others will
C. Medli's weapons can only be obtained on 3DS by playing that map, so even though she's "free" you can't actually get the most out of her unless you buy the DLC. Pricing it at .99 makes it a lot more palatable.

I know we just got Medli, but I am ready for a trailer of what we are getting next month. I want to see Marin in action and the new weapon! I looked up when Twili Midna was revealed before the TP set came out and it looks like they didn't even announce her until the week before!
