Excellent skin/hair shader.
Not only that but the game has the best use of volumetric clouds in any game and its tech was detailed in last year's SIGGRAPH, all that in open world settings.
Excellent skin/hair shader.
Little-Aloy's hand looks too waxy, at first I thought it was wet and out of focus but the wrist band's in focus. The face is fantastic.Excellent skin/hair shader.
The Witcher 3 had some awful trailers from that standpoint, so I'm hoping this is a similar case. Like I mentioned before, people are taking issue with this because of Guerrilla's track record. CDPR gets the benefit of the doubt because they've proven themselves.
I still don't understand how they've proven themselves. For one, PlayStation gamers know them for only one game - Witcher 3. Two, it has some seriously lackluster combat with some of the wonkiest controls ever. Third, it was plagued with terrible slowdown in several main areas that required a year's worth of patches to fix. If there was ever a developer that did not deserve the rap they get around here it would be CDPR.
I know, right?I will HAVE to have a NEO to enjoy this game to its fullest.

You can tell this guy just fucking hates that the PS4 has some awesome games.
Hates it in his core.
On topic: Why the hell are they still calling this Zero Dawn? Please Guerilla, axe this stupid ass subtitle or whatever its called.
It is terrible. Just call it Horizon.
I framed through where she's fiddling with the earpiece and even with little movement it's very waxy and lacking in detail.PSY・S;205896452 said:it looks like motion blur.
To all the people dissing the story based on this trailer, name the upcoming games with better story trailers that have you more hyped. Genuinely curious as from games with released media this is one of my most anticipated.

Well, them proving themselves as devs does not have to be only on Playstation. Also the game has excellent combat.
Yeah it had some slowdown, but that was patched, and it is one of the most technically impressive games ever released.
They also have a BEYOND excellent trackrecord with post game support.
It looks great, but everyone I see footage of it, I'm reminded aboiut how stupid the concept of this game actually is. High-tech tribe and mecha-dinos? Someone must have found his junior grade drawing book in a closet. Actually thinking about it this way makes it somewhat interesting, but the tone is so serious instead....
It needed a better title in the first place. "Horizon" is generic as hell and provides no information about the game. Even Halo had a meaning in its title.

Maybe the title and subtitle will become apparent as the story unfolds? Zero Dawn HAS to mean something. Its just too convenient. It needed a better title in the first place. "Horizon" is generic as hell and provides no information about the game. Even Halo had a meaning in its title.
I have no problem with the story; there is no such thing as a 'new' story and using tropes as an excuse to put down a game is weak. Everything is a trope, its just how the story is presented, which is the only thing about H:ZD I'm not feeling at the moment. You talking about being anTo all the people dissing the story based on this trailer, name the upcoming games with better story trailers that have you more hyped. Every time I see a post like this I'm reminded of the astonishing limitations some people put on their imaginations.
The premise is good. It's just that you lack the imagination to see the potential.
Release a complete game at the beginning and you don't have to provide that much post game support.
What? They have always launched complete games, and by post game support I wasn't talking about just bug patches but free updates and improvements to gameplay, graphics, content, etc. the Enhanced editions of 1 and 2 were amazing updates to the base titles, and Wild Hunt has received not only a ton of free DLC but ghe most bang for your buck paid DLC we have seen in years. Not to mention the awesome stuff they throw in with the game, like a map, soundtrack, Manuel, game world guide, thank you letter, etc into the standard edition game.
Second, the fact that they had to patch in alternate control schemes BECAUSE combat was slow and unresponsive suggests the opposite of excellence. The severe lack of any real difficulty and the amount of cheese builds the game has shows how badly this game is balanced.
It's an alternate option based on preference. They didn't patch it out completely, they added an option for people who prefer it bay way, some people still prefer to play with that option disabled.
There are redeeming qualities, like great story telling and like you said one of the most technically impressive games yet, but that all came with a serious downside: boring gameplay. The trailers were especially cognizant of this fact, preferring to show as little of it as possible.
There were HOURS of gameplay shown by CDPR before launch. Literally, hours.
Horizon actually looks quite fun to play based on what we've seen.
Yes it does look quite fun, and GG is an amazing developer. Shadowfall is an underatted title, as is Killzone 2, and Mercenary. As fun as Wild Hunt? We shall see.
Holy shit lol
Guys, mecha-dinos are up their with the most commonly used internet fandom clichés along with pirates, ninjas and zombies, they're not an original or imaginative concept in any way. Now the execution could still be damn good, it's not like any game involving those elements automatically has a bad narrative, but this trailer doesn't at all lead me to think that the story isn't just going to be as reflectively cliche as the concept. Now please stop with the imagination bs, it's obviously just you guys trying to feel more secure in your liking of a product by being condescending to people with any sort of critique toward it.
I know, right?
Can't wait to spend another $400 to play this game as advertised.
So awesome.
Holy shit lol

That's quite the YouTube account you've got there.
This looks like a banned gif.
Will all due of respect to the devs, but it's hard to believe they squeezed that out of a vanilla PS4...

Am I the only one that wishes that they were organic dino-beasts and not robots?
Otherwise game looks very pretty. Shame about all the "outcast" stuff, but I'm hoping the story won't be too terible.
After The Order, Uncharted 4, MGSV and Witcher 3. I'm ready to believe.. Obviously not the best examples but hey look at GTA IV and compare it to GTA V on PS3, its literally a gen leap on the same console. Will all due of respect to the devs, but it's hard to believe they squeezed that out of a vanilla PS4...
Story seems slightly less interesting with this latest trailer. You know, more 'mainstream bullshit' being applied it seems. But everything else seems as impressive as ever. Hopefully the game can pull through.

Funny thing is some of those mech dinosaurs are +100k polygons each....wtf
A trip to the seaside sounds like a really boring and generic story but what happens on the journey there and how it impacts the characters is what makes or breaks a story. We don't don't know that journey and so we can't judge the story yet.
Holy shit lol

I mean, i can judge the trailer, yes i can indeed judge that, which is what im referring to.

You can't possibly know that yet. How is it used? To what end? How does it play out? What happens that could possibly change the characters? What are the scenes sandwiched in between the basic plot? What exactly IS the overarching plot?

You're really reaching now. Story trailers are the devs putting their game out there and letting people get a feel for it. Im responding to that, as is everyone else. Of course details arent known but what they are presenting is what im reacting to. Still optimistic as it looks great but just saying i much preferred how it was presented in the first trailer.
He said "seems", and I'm inclined to agree with him. I don't think he's saying the story is crap, just that the trailer maybe left a bad impression on him story-wise.
