Half-Life 3 is literally the only rabbit out of the hat someone could pull out to match last year.
Doesnt mean they cant have a solid year though.

Ultimately it comes down to preferences how it compares to TLG/S3/FFVII:Re. They seem to be equally beloved and hyped. Hence without a good way to differentiate quality, it ultimately comes down to quantity, and the holy trinity wins.

The only way to do Half-Life properly would be to schedule the release and make it at a time when there is a major increase in GPU performance (e.g. HBM2) so it can be another technical tour de force like Half-Life 2 before it.
But we all know Valve doesn't give a fuck about it and isn't even trying to make it.
Plus we shouldn't be surprised if they don't even know where to take the story next. Most of the Half-Life story revolves around having answers to nothing in the first place anyway.
Half-Life 2 was one of the most seminal PC games of all time, maybe the single most important PC release of that decade. Anything that comes after would have to be the most absolute amazing shit for PC FPS games again in the same way or it will seem like something half-ass next to HL2.
Erase everything from your memory that you just read. It's for the best.

Nope. Half-Life 3 is almost the Holy Grail of video games. It left us with one of the biggest cliffhangers in gaming history and has been one of the most often requested video games of all time. Half Life 3 being announced would absolutely crush last year just by itself.

According to some GAFers, R* San Diego are/was working on "Project Remorse". I would assume this is the new Red Dead, perhaps Red Dead Remorse..?
So strange to have the word Remorse in a game title but I wouldn't mind it, I'd still buy this shiz.

HL3 announcement can single highhandedly bring GAF to it's knees probably. Not many games left that can actually do that these day, ya dig. It is the ultimate dream.

A Red Dead sequel is totally expected sooner or later. Final Fantasy VII Remake and Shenmue 3 were not.

I would say it qualifies, but I can understand his stance since something like RD makes bank (like most of their games) so you expect Rockstar to come out with it at some point.
