If they are going to show games running at a higher resolution than the current console can provide then yeah, I don't see why you would run out to buy a PS4 this winter. It's honestly not that complicated.

Because you're arguing that all the dev kits they have sent out, all the talks they have been in with various retailers, all the preparing will be for absolute naught because of a spec rumour?

Upping the clockrate I guess would be possible, but i'm assuming that even that is hard to adjust when we're this close to launch.

I hate to break it to you, but a lot of games are often presented on PC's at higher resolutions than current consoles can perform i.e. watch dogs, witcher 3, division

This new "more powerful but 100% forward compatible" trend is interesting - back when the SNES came out, there were complaints that NES owners couldn't play the new games, and were forced to buy the new console if they wanted to keep playing new games. Now here we are like 25 years later, and finally those complaints are being answered! It's an interesting new business model for the console industry, it'll be fun to see how it turns out.

Sure does sounds like a semi-custom designed PC based on x86 architecture. Oh wait thats exactly what it is . It's almost like a console upgrade is just like a GPU upgrade on PC.

People really want them to pointlessly preserve a few months of sales? I think its stupid. There will be millions of eyes watching your event at E3. Its in NA as well were you sell a lot of consoles. Show off the Neo and start taking preorders so that you push millions out the door at launch.

Wrong, it means that the PS4K will be revealed a lot closer to when it actually releases. We still know it has to be out this year based on Sony's cutoff date for when a game must be made compatible with the PS4K.

You're not making any sense, and refuse to see other peoples point when countering yours. Fact is not everyone wants, or can spend $400 to $500 on a console. Those people are perfectly happy with a sub $300 or cheaper PS4. Neo is not aimed at those gamers. It is aimed at the gamers who want, and can afford an extra $100 to $200 on a console.

Look at sales number. They just don't back up your rhetoric. PS4 is still selling like hotcakes.

Do you think pc gamers stopped buying GTX 980s or GTX 970s when the 1080 was announced.

Some people might be hyped for it but not everyone will jump in right away. And even if everyone all of a sudden stop buying OG PS4 and start buying up Neo, what's the problem? Sony makes both!

In reality criticism flies freely around GAF, usually when backed by evidence and facts. Hyperbole doesn't go far, even if well reasoned, so be prepared to be critiqued if you post far out there things. You're not a victim, just being scrutinized. Sony-GAF, MS-GAF or Nintendo-GAF is just frowned upon, as is GAF-hivemind chat. It only serves to shutdown discussion and make others feel bad.
