Paper Mario: Color Splash - Official E3 2016 Trailer

Right here, folks!

I'm aware there's another Color Splash thread right now but it seems more of an opinion piece, plus it doesn't link to no trailer.

Speaking of opinions, as someone who never tried Sticker Star, this video makes the game look so damn fun. Colorful, vibrant, wacky, funny. Surely the much maligned SS mechanics can't be THAT bad? At any rate, I'm interesting in trying it out.

Game looks absolutely gorgeous...but the game play is not the Paper Mario I love.

This is where I'm at. I'm half tempted to buy it because the trailer makes it look fun, but the card system, the thing system, and lack of partners reminds me of Sticker Star too closely. Also the world map from the reveal trailer in March.

It's Not like that stopped people from loving Super Paper Mario

No, but it stopped people from loving Sticker Star, which this more closely resembles.

Well at least I have something to look forward to and pickup this fall for the Wii U.

Depending on what NX is, I may even also double dip on Zelda at launch.

It actually looks great. Totally agree with many of the complaints people have (the character gallery most of all) but still, it's gorgeous and seems fun.

Fuck man this game looks so beautiful. The presentation is incredible but the actually gameplay is just wrong. maybe it will be good, but it's just not the Paper Mario game I wanted, which is a damn shame cause again it just looks amazing from a presentation standpoint.

Sticker Star was the first PM game I ever played properly and let me tell you, getting to a boss to find out you don't have the right items to be able to beat it is annoying and rather depressing. It's not easy to guess, either. I had to use a guide. Otherwise you're stuck hitting the boss a gazillion times with items that aren't that strong when attacking them. Just WHO at Nintendo thought this is a good idea? What a bloody joke. I really hope this stupid feature doesn't return in Color Splash.

Looks so pretty, but I dislike everything else. Oh well. Maybe the next game will he a return to its RPG roots

Aesthetically, Paper Mario has never been better.

The writing seems on point both on the trailer and during Treehouse.

I just hope the mechanics aren't as frustrating as many seem to suspect.

Game looks amazing. People are way too down on this. Honestly it's games like this one that really make me wish NX would have full WiiU BC.

No, but it did stop people from loving Sticker Star, and thats the point.

EDIT Lol rardk64, damn you :p

There are more reasons that sticker star lost than gameplay though.

SPM still had aspects that let them love it even if it wasn't like TTYD.

For a company with their big game of the show having the main idea you can go anywhere and do anything you want, having the boss fights go the exact same brainless way every time or you lose has to be the most disappointing thing about all of this.

pretty much my situation.
sticker star was my first paper mario and i loved everything about it apart from the bosses needing a particular sticker to beat which sucked.
It's a massive shame to see this mechanic returning again but other than that it looks great to me.

Is that Draggadon from Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker?!

And Morton is in the game!! Some good humor, too.

Shit, I'm not sure about the gameplay, but the graphics and creative content look tops.

Nice to see this and Mario Party Star Rush both look good.

I have to admit, I'm always amazed at the new things Nintendo is able to do with the Mario Franchise. You'd think it would get old eventually, but it never does (at least not for me).

I legit laughed out loud at the paint bucket quickly forgiving them and being like "let's grab a burger, you're buyin'."

I like that the Koopalings are in, poor bros they dont rest anymore and are reused more than new super mario bros music, but i still like them

I've warmed up to visual design of the game, and the scenarios and dialogue remind me of what I loved about past Paper Mario games. I'm still really iffy on the lack of unique characters as well as the battle system, but I feel better about the game than when it was first shown.

Considering there's an actual progression system, quite a few of SS's issues are alleviated.

Guys don't let your hate blind you from a potentially great game, actually think rationally about these systems because they look really solid and thought through.

Lots of feelings for this trailer!!!!!!

It looks amazing and beautiful and fun and all...

But the gameplay man... I just don't want it to be like Sticker Star .-. , but it definitely looks pretty.

I want to love this because that trailer is oozing charm and it just looks absolutely gorgeous, but I get the feeling it's gonna be a disaster.

As a lover of Sticker Star I loved everything that was shown of this. Game looks so good, and the gameplay looks so fun. Day 1 for sure, going to have a blast with this.

Looks great! Definitely getting this, as I loved Sticker Star. Do we have a release date?

October 7th, shown at the end of the trailer

Oh god this comment is too good:

">Repaint

>epain
>Pain"

Uhg it really is sad to see my favorite series as a child turn to such absolute shit. This is one of the only times I've ever disliked a video on youtube

That's visually stunning, but not a fan of that gameplay. I've got the latest 3DS paper mario and it's just not for me. I much prefered Super Paper Mario on the Wii.

Man, how big is Intelligent Systems? They are cranking out game after game. Wouldn't be surprised if there's a new Warioware next year.
