Took em long enough but I might revisit this game now with this in place. The constant ragequitters made me, well, ragequit the game for good.

It's a significant amount, yes.
I think you need...3000 LP to be Gold. So that'd knock you down quite a bit.
Very significant I'd say, and a 2 day ban on top of that, I like this.

What happens when both players are DC'd due to the crappy servers, does that count as 1 of the 3 quits? would suck
It gets a bit tougher towards the end and you also unlock a new difficulty after you beat it the first time.

Depends on if it works. Some reports indicate that a player will get penalized if they're the one who gets repeatedly rage quit on, even when they're not the one doing the rage quitting.
The characters are free though, they just cost 100k FM, you don't need a season pass or real money to get them.
Don't bring up guilty gear as an example because those characters were only free during the launch period. And also Arc didn't do it for every region either.
If you were to buy Revelator now, both Kum and Dizzy are $8 each, whereas playing through the general story mode and the character story modes can get you Ibuki and Juri without any actual money spent.
You need 4k lp for gold, but yea, 1000lp is a nice chunk. Let's hope the system accurately detects who does the quitting so the right people get the penalty.

People said the same crap about Mika. "People aren't gonna actually play Mika. They just like her burbs." Then Mika turned out to be REALLY GOOD. Now, lots of people play Mika. AND, some people like her burbs. Try to stop them. You can't.
Anyone want any character in the game for whatever reason they want.

It would take losing around 15 to 20 straight games to drop 1,000 since we're only being matched up with people with a similar point total. So yeah that's a pretty significant amount. Nobody will be rage quitting anymore if their points are really that precious to them. Or they will try to limit quits to one every once in a while.

I really hope capcom servers can tell who rage quit and pure server disconnects.
Damn, Capcom isn't playing around.
Hopefully this puts a bigger dent in rage-quitting.

Would it be a good idea to have the data itself from the match analyzed to see the round and energy differences, just to have as a back up way of reinforcing the disconnect info?

Seems the system can't tell who's the Rage Quitter and who's the Victim, if someone RQ on you, you also get penalize, so 3 players RQ on you, you get banned for 2 days also..
That's ridiculous.
It's almost the same problem KI had with the jail system early on in its life then... why implement the system then when all the rage quitters will do is drag you down in the hole with them?
And I think I know why. If you look closely at your profile box before each online match, you'll see two squares connected by a white squiggly line. That likely indicates a peer-to-peer connection. Because most matches are done peer-to-peer, there's no way for the server to know who rage-quit (at least right now). This may be what Capcom meant by working out the rage quitting specifics.
That said, you can get server-run matches on occasion, but they aren't common.

I doubt it is that simple, wasn't SFIV p2p as well?
How did they know then, i never lost points when someone else rq'ed on me, i did lose them when i had connection problems.
