I hope Nintendo isn't pushing back the reveal for some dumb reason. I don't know of many major video game title announced and released within 3 or so months let alone a video game console.

Unless Nintendo lied straight to our faces I don't think there's a new Metroid Prime coming anytime soon. They said there's no Prime game in development right now.
Because of this, any rumor/"leak" that mentions Metroid Prime 4 is automatically a fake to me.

I missed seeing whatever was in that list before it was taken down, mostly curious about the smash characters. Anybody catch it?

For smash, they claimed 8 new characters, who would also be available on Wii U and New 3DS
If I remember correctly, the list included Ice Climbers, Wolf, some unannounced Sun/Moon Pokemon, Dixie Kong, Toon Zelda, and Jin Kazama. I think Chorus kids were also on the list?
While I think in this day and age there could possibly be a way to use social media to shorten the time between a reveal and a launch if done correctly, I do not trust Nintendo to pioneer that approach.
Announcement and reveal this month. That leaves a safe amount of time between the reveal and the launch to establish a brand.
I don't like all this talk about detachable controllers being used for local multiplayer and sharing controllers. I don't want my core experience at all compromised for the odd edge case where two of us want to play micro machines on the same screen. I'll gladly buy another controller for that thanks, just like with almost every other console ever.
Likewise with docked mode. maybe that situation is simpler and you'll just plug the controllers into a screen sized bit of plastic with a battery and Bluetooth chip so they feel the same as usual but can talk to the docked unit.

Nothing seems unreasonable as a Atlus character seemed likely tho I'd expect Yu instead since he's their main and Namco working on it makes sense for Tekken. All first party characters look good too.
It would be a dream come true especially since I could keep playing 3DS version. At 624 hours I could actually reach over 1,000 hours with eight new characters but its just text. It won't happen...probably.
Yep. Couple people said it's a reliable site, one person said they know an editor there and that it's a hoax.
Really hope that too, i love that game, right now i'm enjoying Megamix on 2DS, i liked Rhythm Heaven for DS better but still a great game...first we should know what NX is though, games are the next step

We are talking about Nintendo after all, they don't care about others, they just follow their way, it would be so funny if they announced NX out of nowhere just one day before Ps4 Neo and iPhone 7 events.
That said it's still pretty unlikely to me, an announcement at the end of September is what i think will happen

So when I play games on TV, I just get half a controller? Am I supposed to play games with a single analog stick and no buttons? But wait, I suppose there are two pieces that detaches. So, I am suppose to join the two pieces together? It looks extremely uncomfortable paying with such a tiny controller then. Or I am suppose to hold the two pieces separately each in one hand? That looks even more uncomfortable.

With the rumours so far, using the controllers as Wii Remotes would probably be the best option for most game genres.
Considering if you've seen the mechanism the controllers use to attach, there will most likely be a shell/module you attach them to, to play games with a traditional controller.
Going by the size of the controllers, they are small but they fit in the palm of your hand.
Both of those on a system that potentially has circle pads and no analog triggers? Not a great situation :\.
I really hope it's more ergonomic than the 3DS, which is absolutely brutal for my hands (o3DS).
Besides that, it's still going to be kind of mindblowing to have games of WiiU(and more) visual fidelity on the go, and i think that even some AAA games might come at launch, especially from Ubisoft, who always support new platforms. Could you imagine a proper Assasin's Creed game on the palm of your hand?

Considering Nintendo's stance on copyright enforcement, that "Share" button should be renamed the "Give" button.
If we have learnt something about ninte do and nx in particular I think they are not going to follow usual PR practice

the presence alone of ice climbers alone makes it unresonable...they can't work on a 3ds hardware
also the rest of the list is just a bunch of fan favorites that didn't make it to the ballot basically
They'll call it the Click button... because that's all I could come up with after Camera button, Photo button and Selfie button. Edit: Just thought of the Snap button.
Or maybe it will just be called the Miiverse button so that it takes you directly to Miiverse but, there's supposed to be video capture features now from that rumour.

What worries me about this late reveal is that Nintendo won't have too much time to change stuff around if needed.
You guys remember how the Wiiu controller had circle pads instead of analog sticks? People complained and they changed it.
The Gamecube controller originally didn't have a Z button. It was added later after people complained the controller had too few buttons.
So with the NX, if people complain about the controller, they might change stuff IF they have enough time like before, but I don't think there's enough time to make significant changes to the controller anymore.

I think that's the part I still have difficulty wrapping my head around. So playing on the TV with the pad docked and in multiplayer settings on the go, you play it Wii style, but in handheld mode you play it like a traditional controller? That means every game should support two or three really different control schemes.
That would mean you either get a separate pro controller in the box (or need to buy one), or the revolutionary thing they haven't revealed yet makes this somehow manageable.
Or, and we shouldn't rule this out, it's going to be a complete mess DoA.

I think that doesn't really clarify what happened. She was peeved because someone brought her up on Twitter in a sense to cause "drama" and she didn't want any part of that.
She clarified that the WSJ article from last year was accurate and that was it.
She then stated she was pissed off that fanboys were dragging her into this crap brought up by SuperMetalDave.

Only New 3DS for the new characters is kind of clever, because the reason Ice Climbers weren't in Smash was that the OG 3DS didn't have enough RAM to handle them and 3 other characters on screen, or 4 sets of Ice Climbers. WSJ's story on NX has evolved a lot since their October 2015 report about "industry leading chips".
WSJ is now reporting that NX is a "handheld-console hybrid" that uses cartridges. Both of those things would support Eurogamer's report.
In terms of "big" console games its probably the most likely IMO. Harada himself seems to have a strong relationship with Nintendo now and they ported Tekken 5 and 6 to the much weaker PSP so NX being weaker than Xbox One probably won't be an issue for them.
I hope you can attach the two controllers together, maybe with another part in the middle to make it a bit bigger and more comfortable.

I was thinking the battery and rumble motors would be in a middle "hub" but after a few months of use I could imagine a controller that clips together would get a bit creaky.
Tegra and pascal rumors confirm WSJ industry leading chip, in the portable segment. A wiiu like level of graphics on a dedicate handheld is a huge leap even over vita.
Still better than just connect together the two sides, that's going to be one tiny-ass controller.
But i'm pretty sure Nintendo will sell a WiiU Pro Controller-like from Day 1.
