"revealed"

It's not "revealed" until Nintendo gives us the specs sheet or somebody opens that thing up.

Get the hell out of here with that.

That's what you're focusing on?

This thing sounds like it's made for yearly or bi-yearly hardware interations.

You just don't like what's being revealed.

And neither do I, but still.... this is likely true.

Going to be interesting to see third party games on this thing. I wonder what's that going to look like going forward.

Well, they sold a lot of DS-es with N64 era graphics, so I guess they don't really care about specs.
N64 graphics across two 3'' screens with 256x192 resolution was a huge performance jump in an era when people were mostly playing colour versions of Snake, Arkanoid and Tetris on their mobiles. Even the N-Gage (the most powerful mobile phone of the era) only had a 2.1'' 176x208 display.

Surprise surprise, Nintendo is not going to compete directly with Microsoft and Sony. Gonna wait for the official confirmation (if ever) though.

Geez, really low clock speeds while mobile. Almost not surprised because Nintendo does value low power usage for their devices lately.

And it's supposed to run with an active fan in the device?

Just what I expected. It's absolutely hilarious see people being disappointed. I guess they missed the last 10 years of Nintendo.

Disappointing for 3rd parties I'm sure. We should all be used to underpowered systems from Nintendo. They always want to sell the system at profit.

I feel like something doesnt add up - especially if this is getting Skyrim Remastered...i dont see Bethesda being interested in this if it were as weak the article suggest.

it's bethesda though. it might run but i wouldn't expect great performance. they don't have a problem releasing games that have terrible performance.

Yeah, it's getting Skyrim remastered, Dragon Quest XI and so on. It can't be a portable Wii U, facts are denying that.

What did you guys expect from a console that's a hybrid? The fact that it'll be a portable console and run games that look as good and better than Wii U games is still an incredible feat.

Disappointing but fully expected. I'll still be there day 1, this isn't a device I was planning to play Third party multiplats on, that's why I have a PC.

Welp. I was wrong. It really is just a portable Wii U and bumped-up one when docked. Can we officially call NateDrake a fake now? This really is just where the successor to the Vita would land. Skyrim will chug on this. It's weaker than the PS3 by a huge margin when portable.

It's fucking shit, but it isn't weaker than PS3. Architectural advantages are a thing.

Could this mean a $199 launch price?

I certainly hope so, because i'm not paying a penny more. I don't like overpriced stuff.

Any explanation for non-engineers? When you mean "low" you mean "not even a Ps4" low or "not even scorpio* low?

yep. i don't care how it compares to a PS4/XB1. if it's a decent improvement over the Wii U i'm happy.

This thing better be dirt cheap. Seems like Nintendo has accepted that they'll be a secondary purchase rather than a primary go to console.

Their sources also confirm X1/Maxwell.
I think that's that.

As usual, the Nintendo faithful were being too hopeful for their own good.

I'm sorry to all of the naysayers I argued with. You were right. I'll never be optimistic about Nintendo again.
What on earth is this hostility towards a member of the GAF community?

I buy Nintendo hardware for Zelda, Smash Bros, Fire Emblem etc.

I'm sure they'll look fine and be as good as ever. I tend to play third party games on other platforms anyway.

Skyrim is a last-gen game with better textures (and Switch is a last-gen console with more RAM) and DQXI probably isn't based on the PS4 version.

That's alright with me.

As long as it handles Nintendo exclusives well, then I'll have no issues with it.

My PS4 Pro/PC can handle everything else.

A portable PS4 could never be called "low".
What we are talking about here -- if accurate -- in portable mode is more like a Wii U with a faster CPU and more flexible GPU than anything else.

Yeah and when you compare 2017 hardware to 2005 hardware newer tech and architecture optimisation and stuff it's definitely more stronger than last gen consoles

Fucking hell that's a lot worse than the worst predictions here.
Good for a next gen handheld, awful for a wiiu successor.

the problem of skyrim on PS3 mostly has something to do with memory. it would not be a problem with the Switch.

Lol Nintendo.

(That would be 153 GPU GFlops in portable mode)

Oh man, some people in the Switch specs thread are going to have a meltdown over this. Utterly convinced that it was going to be at least 500+ GFLOPS.

Wii-U speculation thread 2: Electric boogaloo.
