Was actually really surprised that Cornbread allowed it for real.

It's a dodgy place that advertises changing your look, which is enough to draw Kira in and just make a bet on a hunch. Maybe he brought someone along and said:"make me look like this guy" and then he would dispose of that body if he wasn't pressed for time. He didn't know how Aya did the thing but it worked out somehow. See people have thought about this before you and you're not the most bitchy someone has been on the series. We can fall back on at least a decade of discussions on weird details of the series.

The place's advert reads "My makeup will help you encounter love" which is in all likelyhood the full extent of his knowledge of the place. Certainly that we know of, cause he wasn't even shown witnessing any of Aya's clients rejoicing at their success. Hardly a place to run away when running for your life. And he brought a ready body to boot as if he knew in detail what her Stand does and what he needs in order to gain a new identity.

Someone explain how Kira went from not even being sure whether Aya was a Stand user, to knowing the very specifics of her ability within one episode and in 4 minutes of in episode time, that he mostly spent getting his teeth kicked in. Phrases like; "Bizarre", ":Araki", "It's Jojo", "It's funny" are all verboten.

Honestly, I don't think there will be satisfactory answer in-universe and instead it'd be more useful to know if the Cinderella part was planned on well in advance by Araki or if it was used as an out for some week to week writing putting a character up against a wall.

I can understand why thinking about this point would raise questions, but I don't think it's impossible for it to make sense within the confines of the narrative presented.

More like not being on Amazon (in the US). Now that the show is over and there's still no sign of it on the site, it's looking increasingly unlikely that they are intending to follow Netflix US' model of putting up anime in batches.

I did my part putting it pretty high up on my list. Hopefully it somehow manages to sneak up on to the top 10 for the year, but I seriously doubt it. It's a shame, I thought it was slightly inferior to Rakugo, but the argument could also be that the latter still has a second season to go and is therefore not a complete package when compared to The Great Passage. For me what really killed it was that time jump, which I understand in the concept that the show was going after, but again, the jump was too damn big and cut a lot of potential storytelling. Still an excellent anime nonetheless.

How can I make my ranking of openings if I don't see the special version of Great Days though ? End of year ratings are srs business.

It's not really about getting hung up, I pretty much gave up on caring about the series within first cour. At the same time, since I'm watching (for .... reasons), if I see something particularly outrageous I'm going to mention it, cause really, that's what impressions are for too and that's what I'd point in other shows. I don't see why Araki should get a pass from making his writing make sense at the most basic of levels though I certainly don't expect him to.

I'm really surprised at the amout of Rakugo love from the general GAF growd; color me surprised.

Another anime like Shirobakka and OPM I didn't really enjoy or stay engaged in.

I can't believe this episode have a very emotional touching scene at the end which you have some sympathy for the villain who try to kill Yao. Also, Yao isn't as bad in this episode even though her personality does spill a bit here. I guess the wacky stuff is push aside with some serious tone which make the show a bit more better in some way (in a way, push my expectation of the show a bit higher...just a bit).

Rakugo had an even bigger time skip! (Though of course that was cushioned by starting out in the later time and framing the earlier time as a recounted flashback.)

The Great Passage's time skip does seem to have bothered a lot of people who, I assume, wanted to see more focus on the romantic relationship between Majime and Kaguya. Personally I felt like I got enough time on that and that it was well balanced with the other character's plot threads going on. The core of the story was ultimately the creation of the dictionary and what it meant for the people involved. If the core of the story was shifted to the love story, I think it would have been a more typical and less interesting story, at least for me.

I'm pretty sure you've read more of both those authors than I have (since I've read exactly none), so then you should find it more believable than I do!

It's probably more common than we think but most authors don't have such strict deadlines to come up with solutions. I could swear Tolkien wrote in one of his letters that he'd written himself into a corner with the Nazgul chasing Frodo after Weathertop and at the time, he had no idea how Frodo would get out of that jam. ofc I can't remember which one exactly to verify my memory.

Koro Sensei Quest! Episode 2 – The Red Devil

This is such a perfect anime. I really love the setting for this it works so well but even more than that getting some moments that the tv anime didnt.

Probably the best moment were these moments. Easily Berserker Itona is the best but so is the red devil Karma kun. I wonder what bug Itona will have.

Finished Concrete Revolutio: The Last Song
I thought it was fantastic and this before rewatching it, since I'm sure the show will benefit greatly from it.
The anime is difficult to recommand, because it's so out there.
I suppose the best I can do is to break it down into pieces:

The good:
- colorful art style,
- non-linear narrative
- themes of justice ,good and evil
- very unique setting

The bad:
- story can get messy at times
- feels a bit rushed at certain points.

Well, that was lame, but I'm not sure how else to talk about this show.
