Depends which ones. Desktop ones might be faster than Switch. Also, in what conditions. Game is likely running at 720p on Xbox One. If not lower. So for Switch... well.

The best Intel GPU is the 580 found in skull canyon nuc, and I believe it has half the performance of GTX 750 which is maxwell at 1.39tflops? That one is pretty much the only Intel GPU that is probably faster than even the 400gflops Switch GPU (given eurogamer's clocks) I'm not sure that technical limitations are the issue here is all I'm saying.

With the advent of the Scorpio and PS4 Pro, that is gonna be more true than you think

So basically the switch will yet again be like the WiiU.......ports at launch and literally nothing later from 3rd party. I feel like I should hold off on this one for at least the first year or so and not jump in and get screwed like I did on the WiiU.

Whoa, hold on.... ME3 on Wii U was awesome. It got me into the series. Honest.

I don't think anyone is saying that ME3 on WiiU was bad.

Releasing it at the same time everyone else was getting the whole series at once for the same price however was bad.

This is why ME3 is remembered so badly. It wasn't a game sent out to die, it was a game killed by it's own publisher on it's way out, and is now used as example for the series having no audience lol

The face.
The animation.
The way she disarms the guy, who clearly wasn't holding his gun very well for it to be this easy.

Everything about this is janky as hell.
Probably not a real action scene and he's asking her to disarm him. Like some dumb QTE tutorial.

Exactly, unless positive word of mouth and Nintendo's infamous artificial scarcity get the Switch off to a great start, but the price will have a lot to do with deciding that.

Yeah, no surprise. I'm a technical noob, but I assume that most games, scalability aside, have some sort of minimal requirements just like PC games and Switch isn't powerful enough to run most of those or devs just won't bother when ports require serious effort. Next: RDR 2

cw_sasuke

If all DLC came tied to $13 figurines, I'd consider all DLC to be free
ME Andromeda not being on Switch is a business decision and has nothing to do with its Specs. The launch lineup will be crowded and PS4/XBX will be getting many games this Q1 as well.

Too much risk for to little potential reward - they will be happy if it sells well enough on the established plattforms.

There power of the device wasnt even mentioned - they even say if the Switch is sell and is viable plans could change. This has nothing to do with the Power of the platform - if they can make money and its worth the cost publisher will adapt.

"720P or lower" is there even a shred of evidence to make that claim. It's a 30FPS Frostbite game, it'll be 900P on Xbox One.

It's not shocking - Switch won't be the universal gaming solution some are asking of it (is any platform?). At the end of the day, you just have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself, take a look at your wallet and decide if its your thing (like every other console on the market).

People better buy Fifa on switch otherwise EA is gonna pull the plug before Nintendo can say unprecedented partnership

I thought we already knew this?

Are we going to get a multi-page thread every time a game isn't coming to Switch?

We should considering whenever a new game gets announced the thread is flooded with switch request and speculation. So a thread confirming a game isn't coming is welcome.

lol this was like

"Bioware, is the sky blue and the water wet??"

"yes, indeed, sky is blue and water is very wet, that may change in the future, but for now, things are gonna stay like that."

more interesting would have been

"if you ever considered it, would it be feasible? could the switch run ME:A"?

but of course, that's too much to ask.

I didnt expect bigger AAA titles on Switch to begin with, much less western ones. That isn't news.

What should really matter is if Switch can get ports of games it can feasibly handle. Japan is very rarely technically oriented and many of the games running modern toolsets essentially can be downgraded sufficiently to run on Switch.

I think as long as Switch can maintain Nintendo first party games and semi multiplatform viability with PS4, the switch will be an interesting proposition.

But first and foremost, i don't expect western third parties at the table.

I think the actual quote was "we're using our common sense and we'll see if there is a market there" but the journalist felt it was a bit dry.

It should be pretty clear that the likes of Mass Effect would be at the bottom of the list of likely ports from EA.

FIFA and Madden if we're lucky.
FIFA and Madden yearly if we're very lucky...

....something Star Wars if we're extremely lucky.

That's the crucial stuff for the masses.

There are probably less than a dozen or so 3rd party games that will be crucial for Nintendo to get (sadly for Nintendo... EA supply a chunk of them).

This article irks me for two reasons:

1) The source of the article is weeks old, why dredge it up now?

2) Developers/Publishers often deny the existence of titles only to confirm it weeks later. With the 12th event so soon, why not wait until after that to ask about a company's commitment to the platform?

... And threads like these will get more attention that threads about games actually coming to the system. The about Unreal Engine 4 games barely managed four pages.

That's the thing, UE4 is nothing. Lots of mobile games are on UE4 these days.

Actual titles/franchise announcement will get people's attention, it's a given.

Extremely disappointing.

Nintendo should be paying a lot of money and trying as hard as they can to get these big western third party games on Switch.
Nintendo can't pay their hardware to be more powerful

It's just the route they've chosen. Again, who is buying Nintendo hardware for multi platform games?
Previous Frostbite games, although these ran at 60fps.
Inquisition was Frostbite and ran at 900p30 on XB1.

So basically no evidence...and especially not for the claim "if not lower than 720P", when that's untrue even for the 60FPS games. Because we know this game is a 30FPS game like DA:I which was 900P on Xbox One.

Are you really that surprised? The Switch is a console after all, and for some people it'll be their only one.

Good to know. I'll ready my Unprecedented Partnership and Switch-behind-window memes.

EDIT:

That's the thing, UE4 is nothing. Lots of mobile games are on UE4 these days.

Actual titles/franchise announcement will get people's attention, it's a given.

Except the guy said already announced major titles were being released on Switch. How many major mobile UE4 games do you know?

So basically no evidence...and especially not for "if not lower than 720P", When even the 60FPS Frostbite titles hit 720P at the very least. Because we know this game is a 30FPS game like DA:I which was 900P on Xbox One.

My point though was Switch comparisons before are always about XB1 targeting 1080p. In that case, it's not likely to happen.

Does anyone remember how well Wii U!

It's irrelevant since they fucked themselves over on that front with the Trilogy package at the same time on the other systems. Self-sabotage 101. EA graduating top of the class with honors.

The game bombed hard obviously. Despite being the best version of the game (sans post release DLC support, self-sabotage part 2.). As usual.

Inquisition was also cross gen and it showed easily.

ME:A may be only 720p for all we know

This "news" is at least one week old (around 5 years for those who were paying attention).

Personally, I couldn't care less even if i tried. I didn't buy a high end PC and a PS4 Pro to play AAA multiplats on a fucking tablet.

Then maybe the games should've been included in the thread's title. People want the games, not the engine.
Ok, let me tell you about the "hey mark, will wii u run ue4?" "Ahahahah no" thread then.

Andromeda Special Edition will appear on the Nintendo console that gets released after the Switch.

On topic, no surprise.

EA doesn't make kids games, do you remember? /s

Yeah I wouldn't have expected it.

Would definitely buy Trilogy on Switch though, portable is the only way I could see myself replaying those games.

Switch would literally have to reset entire market including taking current PS4/XB1 install base out for this to make sense so obviously it's super unlikely.
