Switch Stream Predictions

We are now just about 8 days away from the full Switch reveal. We are supposed to find out the price, launch date and lineup, as well as system features we don't already officially know about.

This thread is for your predictions as to what you think will happen. My only stipulation is that you don't JUST rely on the rumors/leaks we already know about. Go out on a limb and have some fun with it! So, with no further adieu, let's start fortune telling!

The show will last 55 minutes. In that time, they'll show the new Mario, which will be large worlds around a hub world like 64/Sunshine/Galaxy. It will be a launch title. Zelda, Splatoon, Mario RPG x Rabbids are 1st party launch. They show a 3rd party sizzle reel of Skyrim, NBA 2K17, Madden 17, Fifa 17, Bioshock HD Collection, Tekken 7, Return to Arkham, Kingdom Hearts 3, FFXV, Dragon Quest XI. Some are launch, some are not. Skyrim and 2K17 are launch. Indie sizzle reel showings Yooka Laylee, Stardew Valley, Bloodstained, and some lesser known games. They mention app support. 1st party sizzle reel for games "coming yet this year" features Mario Kart 8 Plus, Smash Bros For Switch (has new characters, maybe Snake, definitely Squidlings from Splatoon), New Metroid Game(maybe 2018), New IP from Retro, Xenoblade Chronicles X port, Pikmin 4, Mario Maker. They spend time on VC, announcing GCN support. They only have Nes, Snes, and GCN at launch, with Sunshine, Smash Brawl, and Luigi's Mansion. GCN VC is $15, but there will be an introductory price of $10 for the first week or two. During the VC video, they show off console specific Joy Cons that mirror the original controllers. There will be an upgrade fee for vc games previously purchased, 3ds or wii u. They talk about the screen being touch screen, but spend little time on overall system specs, other than storage amount, micro SD card support, and cartridges. Finally, they say something like, "You'll be able to get this groundbreaking new system on March 19th, for the price of $199-249. However, we know some of you are looking for more out of your experience, and for you, we're offering the Switch Pro. At $249-299, you will get the ultimate Switch experience. Featuring twice as much internal memory and coming preloaded with a digital copy of Splatoon, you'll be ready to paint your way to success right out of the box!" It will then end with a new game reveal. Maybe F-Zero? Probably BG&E2.

55 minutes is official? Missed that. Edit: Oh thats the prediction

People will be underwhelmed because so much stuff leaked an GAF always expects was too much.

Price will be 250€ launching in March 17 th in Europe.

No way is it being delayed in Europe, March 17th launch worldwide.

No, 55 minutes isn't official. That's part of my prediction.

They'll go over all the games we saw in the reveal trailer.

Then move onto Pikmin 4, a new Fire Emblem, a new Animal Crossing, the Rabbids game, an indie showcase (featuring Undertale!), Assassin's Creed/Just Dance/Rayman Legends Ubisoft kind of party, ports of other PS4/Vita games like Danganronpa, Bill Trinen being a qtpatootie, and then the stream will conclude with a teaser for a new Metroid Prime game. Then after the fake conclusion we're getting the Smash logo with a port announcement and 3-4 new fighters announced.

The system is $249 with only one SKU, Splatoon is the pack in for the west and Zelda is the pack in for Japan.

Pokemon will get its own event later on.

FFXV uses its own engine, if I recall correctly.

I'm so addicted to that game. I need it on the go. ;_;

Yeah it runs on Luminous, I was poorly trying to imply they would skip 15 and port over all their other projects. I can't imagine the engine is easy to port with but I would love to be surprised.

After all the leaks (which, knowing NeoGAF, won't count as new announcements to many here) I expect at least one or two games we know nothing about. Third parties will mostly be kept to a sizzle reel, with a few more prominent ones such ss Square and Bethesda getting a bigger chunk of the limelight. It won't be a very stylish conference but I'm not expecting it to bore as we have the equivalent of 2 years of Wii U announcements being condensed into one conference.

Disappointment and (fake) outrage.

I can see all of Square's Unreal Engine 4 projects coming to Switch, perhaps even the console announcement of Dissidia at the show.

Even if SE does want to bring all of their UE4 games to Switch(doubtful) I'm fairly sure Sony is financially involved with Dissidia.

close to an hour long
no mention of specs, just games and apps (youtube and browser app mentioned at least)
a lot of talk about how mobile it is when out of its dock, not much shown off while docked.
maybe a price given, if not it will come in a press release later on.
one or two mentioned launch games but nothing else confirmed until closer to release.
A tech demo similar to the bird in the flower garden the Wii U had, not from any game at all just a gpu stress test unrelated to actual games coming out.

That's what I expect, anything better then that will make me happy.

The big "oh what?" will be games like Skyrim are part of a streaming service provided by Nvidia and not native games for switch

oh my, yeah I can expect that to be a thnig now with the nvidia game streaming service they have.

And even i am moderately surprised

I predict GAF will crash, many will be excited, the to cool for school folks will post threads with titles like "that's it?" or "switch? To the off position, maybe"

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
Nintendo really needs to come out guns blazing and show what the Switch will offer for this entire year.

Dont hold shit back, dont beat around the bush. Wii Us been dead in the water for over a year, if all these projects supposedly got moved to Switch then we need to see them.

Mario and Zelda arent nearly enough. Show trailers or teasers for everything you're working on. They need to have something for everyone. It needs to be an information overload. For once Nintendo can't afford to be selective or secretive about what theyre working on. The Switch will live or die based on the games.

Instead they're probably going to show 4-5 titles and spend 10 minutes talking about Skyrim Switch. Prove me wrong Nintendo.

1) No specs, no discussion of power at all
2) Big focus on Zelda
3) Official Announcement of MK8 and Splatoon ports, both framed like they're not ports (but they are)
4) Tiny bit more of Mario
5) Beyond Good and Evil 2 is the only third party game officially announced. No Skyrim.
6) List of partners shown with lots of logos of people who have expressed interest
7) Price is a bit too high
8) IR pointer is confirmed

I expect the stream to lean towards entertaining than 'factual' as such. Much like the 2014 Digital Event but less 'silly'.

Expect a lot of interviews with 3rd party devs. Trailers for games. In short I don't think it will be a boring conversation with lots of information. That will drop in the press release.

The phrase 'the world of Nintendo Switch' will be expressed within the first 5 minutes.

Considering the only game we saw being played on a plane in the original trailer was Skyrim I doubt this is the case.

I can see them having little clips of devs saying "I love the switch!" Yves Gullermot saying something about IP and nintendo being cool people, Michel ancel maybe that sort of thing.

Damn this is almost spot on. There is probably a sizzle reel of titles(mostly Japanese) currently announced for PS4 coming to switch. Kingdom hearts, tekken, dq10/11 etc... I do think skyrim will be shown tho.
