Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 Thread: Joy-Conference

They did good by getting the paid online and price out of the way first then hyping you up with the games.

I was disappointed at first but that game line up and no region lock makes it a buy for me.

What game lineup? There was barely any third party presence and a couple games....it seems like wii-u all over again. Zelda looked amazing though but it needs more then that,

I'm very interested in a lot of the games, but I have a bad feeling this thing is going to crash an burn because of that price.
What are the launch games even? I mean we got Zelda... what else?

They really needed to bring it with the games to justify both its price and launch date. They did neither.

Zelda looks great and so does Mario, but that's not nearly enough. Really disappointed. So much wasted time.

The whole presentation and focus of this console just seems so oddly similar to the Wii U. You would think after that disaster they would have learned their lesson and pivoted, but it feels like the same combination of "Here's a few bones for Nintendo fans and Oh yeah Casuals please put down your iPhones and come back to us!" Right down to the token western third party support (replace Mass Effect with Skyrim) I just don't see anything so far that makes this more compelling to the general audience that rejected the hell out of the Wii U. Nintendo better have a lot more wildcards up their sleeves for the post launch period.

It's the exact same approach, I was amazed.

It's a portable Wii U, that's what it is. Same visual standard, same approach to software.

Well the games did look good. I don't know why they think they'll recapture the motion stuff again. I'm not interested (no metroid) but it might be better down the line.

I hope this will be similar to the 1st E3 where we had treehouse stream.
If it is then there may be more things to go over tomorrow.

Will buy a Switch as soon as Xenoblade 2/SMT come out. Conference was strange, but they showed me all I needed to see. So glad I stayed up. I was in complete shock and awe at those two announcements.

Not a Zelda or Mario fan, but those were two amazing trailers. A new Splatoon was nice but not unexpected. Everything else ran from "meh" to "wtf am I watching?"

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
I knew most of you'd hate it, but I couldn't be happier.

Mario looks incredible. Zelda looks incredible. Splatoon 2 looks incredible. And that ARMS game looks incredible!

I'm no less hyped than I was before. Now, lemme' pre-order!

Yeha I didn't get the hate about ARMS. That looked innovative and a ton of fun.

Meh, the presentation could have been better. At the very least, it would have been nice to have some sort of delay or film segments ahead of time so they were better dubbed/with the titles.

So..launch for Switch is going to have...Legend of Zelda? 1-2-SWITCH seemed like it was coming in the "spring" and not at launch.

Seems like some of the quick fire stuff we saw might be launch stuff though. Minecraft and Skylanders: Imaginators seems like big chunks...I think what's weird is that they have a lot of stuff going on through the year which is good, but we don't really know much about launch.

"$300, no pack in game, 3 hour battery, and no games? I'm out Nintendo, I'm out!"

*Incredible Zelda trailer*

"...dammit it all."

Same here lol

Yeah... don't really know what to say but I almost did not like or got excited for any game shown except for Zelda...

It just happens that's the launch game...

I'm really considering getting the switch, finish Zelda and then reselling if no more games I want to play get announced or released in the process.

Bummer.

Didn't think it was possible after how disappointing the wii u has been, but happy that I have mine so now I don't have to buy a switch to play zelda

absolutely nothing about that conference was worth catching live or even reading about regarding 2017

I'm sure the lineup will be filled in at a later date, but damn did nintendo whiff a little by not showing what is coming at launch. That said new 3d mario this year, splatoon 2 and BOTW at launch is absolutely nothing to sneeze at.

That was one of the worst things I've ever seen. It was bad enough to make me completely change my mind on a day 1 purchase. Zelda looks damn good, but i'm not spending $400 cdn to play it...and likely for only 2.5 hrs at a time on the go. Yikes.

$300 is fine by me
Online could be very well worth paying for
Mario looks amazing
XENOBLADE 2
Fire Emblem Warriors
Breath of the Wild looks INCREDIBLE

I'm fine with the events that happened.

This preorder mystery is going to be rough.

As for the presentation, I dug Mario, Splatoon 2, SMT and Xenoblade teases, and BotW quite a bit. I don't care much for western games so whatever there. Decent reveal.

Literally just one game that matters at launch, thats freaking rough, but at least they showed 3 games that i'm interested in, X2, SMT and Mario look good, but them only bein available later kinda sours the mood

Rough presentation, personally thinking this shouldnt release in march and wait for the system to have more games

I hear you wanted a female link or a playable Zelda? Well we don't have that but we made Zelda the most Damsel in distress she ever was!

Looked great othewise.

Yeah, Zelda and Mario were the highlight of this for me. Will wait to see what else is out there, but if this is gonna end up being another Nintendo machine for me then I'm gonna wait until later to pick it up.

The Switch has potential, I really like the form factor. But, the launch lineup looks really really weak right now.

Wasnt a great showing. Definitely bummed about charging for online. Hopefully they will give free games like Sony and Nintendo. Frame rate looked bad in a lot of titles. Graphics looked like WiiU. Battery life is bad. Price is 50 higher than I though..with no pack in.. Zelda will be amazing and the Mario game will be fun no doubt.

Zelda and Mario looked fantastic.

Really shitty conference though. Almost just want to use Wii U to play Zelda at launch and just wait to get a switch till the holidays
