Is it just me or should a developer of a game that is currently selling very poorly really be laughing at the idea of releasing it on other platforms?

which is what boggles peoples minds. If you know your game, while great, basically limped out the gates and died in the opening weeks, why try to down someone else when your shit obviously isn't in order? It's liek a guy going bankrupt laughing at the dude who lost just out on a investment.

The Nintendo Switch is not a person. He gave an honest response as a western developer on how he views the Switch as a viable platform. The Switch doesn't have feelings to hurt.

Bringing up sales is not only stupidly and bitterly irrelevant, it borders on the stupid "how can you criticize a game for you've never made one?" argument. This guy works in AAA games, he probably has better insight on the specific question he was being asked than 90% of NeoGAF, yet I'd never hear saying all the complaining and potshots taken at the industry and games on here on a daily basis are "douchy" or out of line.

Yeah, this thread is some top-tier shit. It won't last long.

Thought this forum was a bit more mature than that.

Some people just want every negative Nintendo thread closed huh? Too many negative things? How about it's Nintendo's fault.

Funny part is it'll probably be closed because of "lol embarrasing"

I wonder if the same people who get offended at Switch being called weak also get offended when PS4/XB1 get thrashed.

The developer's response is indeed dickish, but the question is dumb as hell.

The Switch has a different kind of third party support that fits in well with Nintendo published titles. Titanfall 2 is not a bad game, but I'm getting tired of people asking for AAA PS4/Xbox/PC multiplat X.

It got a huge boost in November only below CoD, Battlefiled and Pokemon.

Unfortunately, that came at the expense of being heavily discounted even before Black Friday rolled around. I'm not sure how much good that did it in the long run, since it doesn't seem like it's had any real staying power on the platforms it released on. Nothing but bad, bad timing all around for the game.

Loving Titanfall 2 and I wish there could be a way to make it run on the Switch, the only serious dedicated portable gaming machine, but completely understand the point of the Respawn developer.

Hopefully we'll get some stuff like CoD Black Ops II on Wii U which was godly because of IR aiming. We'll have to do with Splatoon 2 for the moment on the go.

Will I be able to play Titanfall 3 anywhere?

hopefully they learned from their mistakes and make titanfall 3 more like titanfall 1 but with more maps, modes, and a campaign at launch. thats all they needed to do. They didn't need new weapons or new titans or changes in gameplay. just new maps a campaign and more game modes while keeping old favorties.

As long as Nintendo gets those japanese 3rd parties and some good exclusives I really don't care. I think they'll hold their own as a machine for indies and Japanese 3RD party support (To an extent).

I don't think anyone expected things like TF2 or even the next CoD to be on Switch. And for me personally, I really couldn't care less. The only games I really enjoy from Western devs are from indies. I'm so sick and tired of western AAA games it's not even funny.

Switch is a juiced up 360 and the closer people accept that the better.

What's that supposed to prove? There are 32k playing BF1 on the PC right now, by comparison there are 132k playing it on the PS4 and another 100k on the Xbox One. Most shooters are predominantly console-oriented in terms of where their popularity is now.

It proves that the game bombed.

He started it by shitting on something I like it was unprovoked Seems fair to say I don't like his company or his games

But he didn't tho? He was asked if TF2 would be playable on the Switch, he responded, albeit while jovially drunk, that you couldn't.

It's the OP who seemed most hurt that has everyone confused about what actually happened.

You know GAF isn't that much different from Gamefaqs right?

It's become quite evident.

And the worst part is that I'm certain that if he would've made a comment like that about other console the answers in this thread would be completely different.

Like, come on.

The guy is drinking watching the event with his friends, and gives them an answer. Some how he is douchey for echoing what hundreds of other people probably felt?

Like fuck, not every game developer needs to carry themselves like they are Mark Cerny.

Oh no, how can Nintendo ever recover from this scathing criticism?

Again, it's not the core of what he says that's douchey. It's the delivery.

For example, if you're carrying groceries and ask me to open the door for you and my response is, "Fuck no. You can do it yourself" while throwing my head back in laughter, I'm being honest but at the same time, acting douchey about it.

EZ Allies were disappointed by the Nintendo direct and brought up a lot of valid criticisms but they didn't get backlash because they didn't do it in a douchey way, even when grading the presentation in the C- range.

I really like Titanfall 2, might be my 2016 GOTY (didn't vote this year as I did a lot of backlog games) but there's nothing about it I wouldn't still like if they had cut down the graphics and kept 60fps on WiiU/Switch. There was a passable port of the first game on 360 after all.

There's a lot of cool physical things going on in a game of Titanfall. Titanfall 3 could have been a game to make great use of the HD rumble.

How wrong can you be? The first Titanfall was pretty compromised on 360. Where do you get this "it can run on a toaster" stuff? Or is your logic that the engine is old so it must be able to run on anything?

How wrong are you, Titanfall 1 had a reasonable bluepoint point, I own the game on PC and have played it on a range of devices. Have you even looked at it's benchmarks? What on Earth are you on about.

He's not wrong, but that won't stop Nintendo fans from thanking the gods that Titanfall failed or something similar, just because he said something about a piece of plastic.
