"Will I be able to play Titanfall on Switch?" "No. hahaha" says Sr Designer @ Respawn

I mean, the Titanfall port on Xbox 360 was really good, so I don't see why TF2 technically couldn't be downscaled to the Switch.

Though I think he was laughing not because the Switch is underpowered as much as he knows EA is no longer going to support the Titanfall franchise.

Ask me about the moon landing or the temperature at which jet fuel burns. You may be surprised at what you learn.
TF2 was like 27 bucks 3 weeks after launch.

There is less than 5k people playing on pc right now.

So was Battlefield 1, Call of Duty and Skyrim Remastered. Guess all those flopped too according to your logic.

I'm just gonna go ahead and say this... But if you have the time to play a videogame while you're on the toilet, you need to reevaluate something with your diet or posture barring some legitimate medical disorder.

Hey hey man. I'm usually on the toilet for some quiet time. Nobody is going to barge in when my pants are off.

This game was so huge of a fail sales wise that they should consider every option really carefully instead of just be dicks. Not even their publisher trusts their products, given how close it was released to battlefield.

THE Nintendo defense force is out in droves.

It's funny and ironic their rebuttle is low sales and tanking when Nintendo has been doing that for years now.

Oh please lets not act like the MS/Sony defense force wouldn't be out in droves if he made similar remarks about their respective consoles.

Hardly surprising.. regardless of power.

Even if EA were to give Switch decent support and the hardware was a massive success..

...I'd have thought Titanfall would be one of the last IP's they'd consider bringing over.

It was provoked actually. He was asked a question if Titanfall 2 would be on the Switch and he laughed and said no because it was clearly too much for the Switch to handle technically.

He also said he was excited and hyped for the Switch reveal.

And how can you like the Switch so much to get this defensive before you even own it? Christ.

Oop!!!

All the people saying "it's just a piece of plastic" are getting just as offended when you point out that Titanfall 2 also underperformed 🤔

But he didn't because they aren't underpowered consoles :)

And I'm pretty sure PC devs make similar comments all the time and the threads don't blow up like this.

And to think I actually liked Respawn and Titanfall 1. I know one person doesn't equal the whole company but he certainly made it easy for me to not pick up Titanfall 2.

It did quite well Nov NPD, I don't think it's doing as bad as some of you think, besides, it's a great game who cares how much it sold?

It could be, but that would likely take a developer on the same level as Bluepoint, if not Bluepoint themselves, and they're in pretty short supply.

Is it just me or should a developer of a game that is currently selling very poorly really be laughing at the idea of releasing it on other platforms?

It's not a viable platform for their game. That's sort of the whole point. If this thread was about him being asked if they were bringing Titanfall to iPhones and his response was the same, I doubt you'd get the same kind of reactions in here. In fact many of the people concern trolling about how he hurt the poor Switch's feelings would probably be the ones wondering why he was asked such a dumb question in the first place. Some people have a weird, unhinged, almost religiously fanatical allegiance to these console manufacturers man. It's fucking scary and honestly pathetic. Get it together.

The devs that will understand that, for a little bit of a downgrade in visuals, most would buy a portable version, will make money.

Skyrim? I've owned this game since it's release on steam. Portable ? Day 1
Dark souls ? I own all games on steam, if From offers portable souls? Day 1
Overwatch ? I own it since launch, portable? Day 1

But, it's way more edgy to just say NO,HAHAHAHHAHAHA. OMGZ SWITCH FOR KIDDIES

Wow, the Nintendo fans here have been so salty I almost lost my liver entering this thread. How about you thin skinned princesses click on the YT link and listen to what he says instead of making stupid remarks of TF2's sales numbers ;)

Stupid question anyway. If you've played TF2 it's obvious it wouldn't run on Switch, especially at its breezy frame rate. You could have made that conclusion before a single Switch game was shown.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
hopefully they learned from their mistakes and make titanfall 3 more like titanfall 1 but with more maps, modes, and a campaign at launch. thats all they needed to do. They didn't need new weapons or new titans or changes in gameplay. just new maps a campaign and more game modes while keeping old favorties.

Did you play Titanfall 2 or is this some elaborate troll post?

Also this thread makes me wonder why the Switch isn't powered by Salt.

I know some dont like when this happens but I find it funny.

Just to see the reactions to it.

People keep saying "Nintendo fans getting salty/defensive" What benefit is there to specifically chewing them out? Why do you care if a guy who likes the Switch didn't really like what a guy on youtube said?

cause they're getting riled up about a non issue and it's funny. most people getting salty are don't understand the context of what was said.
