So, anyone go to Old Yarnham and see if it helps the framerate when you first enter and are by those fire pyres? Also, any known release date for general public on the upgrade?

Tested Killzone, uploading now, but do not expect much. The game was quite fine before, so do not expect massive improvement. Handling does feel smoother though, so probably frame rate is higher, but hard to say by how much.
Single player with unlocked framerate ranged from 30-50FPS so it could be a good boost. The MP as well ran at like 40-60FPS.

I'd expect that game to perform better.

This is awesome news, took me by surprise that's for sure! Had my beta email too so can't wait to try it out.

Being a big Battlefield 4 player I'm hoping frame rate holds up abit better when things get hectic :)

I'm seriously going to have to work through some of my backlog now just to see if there's much difference!

BF4 already has a Pro patch...

So its sounding like this is a pretty decent little performance boost in most games, but has anybody run into any oddities/crashes/glitches while running in boost mode?

ok good, that makes me feel better. Were you able to login to the 4.5 PSN community portal? I wasn't able to yesterday.

I don't think so. Nothing on my end.

I know before, EU accounts received the update before us but I just want to know If I can throw a temper tantrum yet. I was able to log into the 4.5 thread.

I think you are thinking of BF1.

I wonder if games with a "pro patch" could still see minor improvements if all they do is a "HUD upscale"? Like, if the devs are lazy enough not to actually use the extra power and just upscaled some UI shit so they could say, pro patch!!!!!, and now forcing beast mode might do some extra work?

Unlikely, but if this is using reserved power some devs didn't bother fully utilizing in their pro patches it may help.

Welp...This just made me go out and buy a pro.

you're probably eating on the hype way too much. i don't think the upgrades are gonna be more that few frames...

don't they usually release a 0.5 firmware around e3?

Someone please try out Rocket League. That is one I'm super interested in because the FPS drops are very noticeable on different maps.

Is it normal that even after fully uploading a video to Youtube is still doesn't show on my channel? lol Kinda noob on this.

Can someone test Killzone Shadowfall? That game had a locked and unlocked framerate mode if I recall and I'd like to know if it improved a bit.

Fuck yeah, I'm really curious about the benchmarks now, especially Bloodborne.

Yeah I'm not expecting 30 to 60 in ANY game but 30 locked or almost locked in games with dips would be sweet.

Ok, I've read about people here who were not able to login to the 4.5 beta community portal yet they received the beta email from Sony. I hope I'm one of those! I have U.S. account (NYC), so hope I get that email before I leave the office at 5 so I can test out all my old games starting with Until Dawn!

You guys need to wait for DF or that NX dude....gaffers don't know shit about framerate. And they certainly can't measure it using their eyes only.

Maybe some data were still in the cache and that's why second time it loaded faster?
Hummmmm it is a SDD not SSHD... SSHD use this cache data in the SSD part... SSD the full disc is the same read/write.

Others games are saying loading time boost in Beast Mode... I think it is due having more CPU to make the transfer from HDD to memory.

OK beast mode is fantastic. Have tested

Until dawn - much better performance
Bloodborne - better still frame pacing issues though
Just cause - a revelation a different game.
Mad max - better performance
YAKUZA 0 - better when roaming city
Games seems smoother overall. perhaps where would of seen 1-2 frames dropped . (tried destiny)
Side note: vr 3d is fantastic.

Great feature, glad they have decided to allow this, after first saying they wouldn't.

I don't think I've ever seen people this excited about Pro before, Sony should have done this from the start because Pro interest seems to have sky rocketed now lol

Let's hope they can get more into shops so anyone that now wants one, can actually buy one.
