Horizon Zero Dawn Spoiler-free Impressions (for real this time)

I'll answer you and the others, it's not crazy fast like vanquish but yeah you are constantly sliding, running, rolling. Letting out attacks and traps when you can.

As for enemy behaviors I don't know if they coordinate, they just fuck you up. They don't take turns, they will straight gang up on you and mess you up. I would be trying to do a critical hit on one only to have a projectile hit me from another guy. But I don't think there is any real strategy between the enemies.

How is the fighting when on mount?

I can confirm that robot horse controls a biajillion times better than wither 3 horse.

horizon is the best controlling/feeling game GG ha ever made. It was one of my main concerns as I hated the weighty/floaty killzone feel.

How does it feel compared to RDR or MGSV, if you played those?

Thanks.

Sounds frantic and potentially overwhelming. I like it.

Nice.

If (and when) Horizon is a success, do you see Guerrilla going back to first person shooters, or do you think they'll stick to new Horizons and other open world IPs?

Sorry if that has already been said but: can you lock ennemies to turn around them more smoothly? I understand from a quote in the OP than you can't....but it seems hard to believe.

Tx in advance.

Have you tried different mounts, does the strider feel different from the broadhead?

I think they already said that they want to make a franchise out of Horizon. I'm sure Horizon 2 will be next but that doesn't mean they won't do anything else.

No way they abandon Horizon, I think it is going to be a new franchise tent pole game for Playstation. I think Sony should get someone else to maybe take a stab at am exclusive FPS.

A Ueda FPS? lol that would be...interesting.
He loves Half Life 2 and has said he'd like to do a first person shooter
"For instance, I’d like to make 2D games. Right now, that’s what I’d like to do – it may change tomorrow. Oh, and an FPS. Yes, I’d like to make an FPS. I play quite a lot of FPS games in my free time.”
And yeah I cant even imagine what that would look like

They have hinted in the past they haven't done with Killzone but might not be for a while if Horizon is a big hit and Sony want a sequel.

Unless they do another Killzone on PS4 and Horizon 2 will be on PS5.

Ok got it up. Early , maybe considered first boss battle? Quote it. Taken from PS4 Pro. Tree damage near near 1:40 was cool.

I really really really enjoyed that clip. Aloy and Rost seem to be well written. And yeah it's great to see tree damage being based on the amount of force they receive. We've seen this happen with a thundermaw as well.

5 killzones in total I think they can let it sleep for a good while a new fps ip however with their team they have could potentially put killzone 2 to shame, if they mix in the experiences from developing a story driven open world

They'll probably be staying with Horizon for the foreseeable future. I thought Cambridge would take over Killzone, but that didn't happen and I don't see anyone else taking over, so I wonder if Sony have any FPS games in development at all (maybe Sucker Punch), because I can't think of any.

Sucker punch apparently are doing a new IP but it's third person unfortunately (sue me I'd take some Infamous milk lol one of the best superhero type game on the market easily)

I knew I read something in regards to the future of Killzone.

GUERRILLA GAMES IS TAKING A BREAK FROM KILLZONE, LEAD CONCEPT ARTIST CONFIRMS
February 16, 2017

At the Horizon: Zero Dawn Preview Event in Shangri-La Makati, Sirus Gaming was able to sit down with Guerrilla Games’ Lead Concept Artist, Roland IJzermans. I asked if we are to expect another Killzone installment in the future, and IJzermans said:

“No comment on that… the team is not working on another Killzone.”

This confirms that we might not see another sequel of their main franchise soon.

Killzone: Shadow Fall did not exceed expectations as a launch title like Killzone 2. Since Guerrilla Games’ just finished Horizon: Zero Dawn’s development, he said that he can’t also comment if we are to expect a sequel and that we will have to ‘discover that after finishing the game’.

Man, they really need to knock it out of the park this E3. People seem to be rather meh on Days Gone.

Exactly. They picked the wrong portion of the game to demo off. I heard you can customize bike and do a lots of thing in that game. They really need to do a blowout for this game at E3.

Days gone will be a franchise too watch bookmark it. Ppl sleeping on it because zombies (they're freakers

Days gone has a lot of interesting ideas but the E3 demo really turned a lot of people off.

As for Sucker Punch, I really want to know what they are working on. I love Infamous SS, and I was hoping for a new Infamous game. But hey, a new Scifi from them sounds just as exciting.

Maybe on here.

Anyways this is getting off topic.

Two questions:

1. How it plays and looks on normal PS4? Any fps drops?
2. Is melee build viable or the game is built around ranged weapons?

The real highlight here is the cutscene afterward. It's just a tidbit but I'm loving the characterisation.

Yup! It kinda approaches naughty dog levels in terms of what you can garner from expressions
for instance, when Rost tells about being responsible for the people in the tribe and not just herself, you can see the by the look on her face that she's not really happy about that. Like why the hell would she need to care about a bunch of people who made her an outcast for no good reason lol
