Blaster Master Zero |OT| A Blast from the Past

This will probably be my first digital switch game. Does anyone know if there is any kind of sharing of digital games on switch? My wife and I both have a Switch, which is why I'm wondering if there's any way to get it on both of our systems without buying it twice.

Regardless the game looks awesome! Glad to hear about the HD rumble.

I turned it on with my pro controller and thought I'd got my first ever desync lol.

Turns out it wanted me to switch to Joycons.

One joycon in each hand while lying down is pretty damn comfortable though. Still prefer the oozingly perfect propad overall

Man this game is a blast. I'm in area 2 after about an hour. Simple exploration but fun combat and bosses so far.

HD Rumble is awesome, especially the feel of explosions after beating bosses. Hadn't really noticed what the fuss was about as all I'd playes really before this was Zelda, but i finally get what the big deal is!

There is not. You both have to buy it if you want it on two switches at the same time.

You can''t believe how psyched I was to find I still had this poster. It's crazy to think there was a time when they would build a physically articulated model for a magazine shoot like this!

I thought there was some mildly complex workaround where you could log into another Switch, change that one to your primary Switch, download the game, and then each time you want to play on the other Switch you have to change it back to your primary Switch, and so on? Or something like that? Probably too complicated to be worth it when the game is only $10, though.

Bought pretty much because HD Rumble and $10.

Glad to see a decent price for a game near launch. Feels too rare most of the time (sadly)

(HD Rumble post)

Has anyone tested BMZ with a Pro Controller yet? Was the rumble just as profound as the joycons (which I assume is what most people are using)?

Why is it so hard to find an answer to this? lol

Well I remember dying a lot back in the day, getting lost finding the next upgrade to advance further and all...first time,if you never played I guess around 8 hours maybe...games back then wheren't that long.

Oh man, so many people playing Zero now, are in for a treat and a rude awakening if that go back to play the original lol.

The OG was super difficult, still never beat it. Gameplay is so smooth though. The opening cut scene with that soundtrack was just awesome back then.

This game makes me so happy though and I appreciate the pricing.

Is the Co-Op the full game or a separate mode? How is it?

It's not full co-op. Think Super Mario Galaxy two player where the other person controls a reticle and can help you out at times.

Edit - here is a screenshot from destructoid review showing the "co-op" i believe, player 2 is the reticle.

Thanks. Hmm that wasn't very fun in Galaxy. But its something at least. Ill get it when the Pro Controller patch comes out.

Ahh that's unfortunate, I was hoping to play with a friend at some point this week.

The game is no pushover, either. I've died a couple of times so far. I think the foot sections are by far the hardest.
Oh ok, that sounds promising. I'll get it eitherway bc I love the original so much. But I got burned with double dragon IV on ps4, so I just wanted to wait a sec before getting it.

Does it bother anyone else that the aspect ratio isn't 16:9 on Switch? For some reason, the black bars on the sides weirdly driving me nuts. I need to get over it and just enjoy the game.

The music is solid.

Edit: I also really like the pixel art. It looks nice on the Switch portable mode and on the TV.

So, when I look at the recent output from this developer, this is the only title that isn't very multi-platform (yet). Does anyone know if Nintendo has an exclusive deal (and, if so, is it a permanent or a timed one)?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!
Guess it really is a remake of sorts as the first level is near identical to that of the NES game. Albeit some major changes are made, but the layout and design concept are near identical. Far less punishing obviously than the original as well.

Only played the first level so far, but seems like a more accessible way for those to experience this classic.

It's a premake.

*ahem*

I'll see myself out.

Anyone else think this game is really ugly? The art and color palate is such so bad. I'm enjoying the game still though!

I find some HD Rumble implementation to be a little too aggressive but I love the more subtle vibrations like jumping out of water and using a charge shot. Explosions are just a tad too heavy.
