2017 feels like a pressure valve. All sorts of stuff that I've been hyped up for over a year about is finally coming out, then there's the "wish that'd get a sequel but probably won't" bunch, with some overlap (NieR and NNK come to mind first). I think 2017 might be up there with 1997 and 2004 for me, my favourite game years so far.

Outside of "Coming Winter 2014" - which is already used for the Import OT - what are people thinking sounds good as a Persona 5 OT Title?

Coming up with 5-6 options for a poll, so suggestions that get a ton of support are more likely to be chosen for it.

Well, if the best meme title was already used, we should go with something simple instead of another joke.

Persona 5 |OT| Take Your Heart

Persona 5 |OT| Happy Valentine's Day

This one is fantastic, though.

I'd go with Lupin the fifth.

The Woman Called Ann Takamaki :p

Persona 5 |OT| Robbin' Da Mood

Persona 5 |OT| Who You Gonna Scold

Persona 5 |OT| Here's your Pay Back

Another review thats pending on metacritic for the game has no score yet but considers it to be "brilliant"

Thanks. The article in question...

There's no point in beating around the bush: from what we've played so far, Persona 5 is utterly brilliant. We're around 20 hours in, and although we still have potentially triple that amount of playtime to go, we can't deny that we're absolutely enraptured with Atlus' latest. Even as we're sitting here right now, writing this article, we're thinking about what's to come when we take our next trip to Tokyo.

Eh, it's more of a preview than anything. Don't know why Metacritic singled it out.

i've heard nothing but great things about the Persona series

i hate turn based gameplay and i think i won't enjoy Persona series because of it

the only game that was turn based and i really liked it was Child of Light

That's my problem. Only turned based game I don't mind is Pokémon. I'd love to give this series a good try and I've been wanting to mixup my gaming lineup, so this may be a good chance to jump in.

So why is there a thread with 12 pages about a game getting one review?
HYPE

people have been waiting for this game for more than eight years at this point and the release of the first review, a 10/10 at that, is a tangible mark that the wait is coming to an end.

There's a lot of combat in the Persona games so you either crank the difficulty down or you pass honestly. Persona 3 had an insane amount of combat, P4 less so but still.

Combat in Persona and SMT games is quite good though and pretty damn fast (minus the bosses at high difficulty as those take a while). Plus with new dungeon designs you will be able to avoid enemies and combat looks to be improved further from P4G.

On a sidenote, I went to bestbuy.com to preorder Persona 5 and it said it's not available in-store and I have to have it shipped to me? That's pretty strange, I always have the option of picking up in store on pre-orders. Maybe if I wait closer to release it will change?

Okay, these seem to be the most solid/popular options so far:

  • Persona 5 [OT] My Neighbor Dorobou
  • Persona 5 [OT] Lives Will Change
  • Persona 5 [OT] Lupin the 5th
  • Persona 5 [OT] Unfuckwithable Coolness
  • Persona 5 [OT] Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There
  • Persona 5 [OT] Take Your Heart
Any other suggestions before a poll is created?

Not sure if I understand any of those and I've finished 4 out of 5 Persona games so far.

  • Dorobou is Japanese for Thief, P5 is about thieves, and the rest is a My Neighbor Totoro reference.
  • "Lives Will Change" is a slight variation on one of the main songs in P5.
  • Lupin the 3rd is a manga/anime about the grandson of Arsene Lupin. P5 takes heavy inspiration from both, and has a lot of references to them in it.
  • "Unfuckwithable coolness" was a quote one of the previews used to sum up the game, and it's pretty accurate.
  • "Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There" is the name of the main theme song of P5.
  • "Take Your Heart" is the big slogan for P5, since the game is about 'stealing hearts.'

All right thanks

|OT| You are slave. Want emancipation?

Once seeing that phrase on the initial reveal it's stuck to my mind, we are all gonna slaves to this game.
