Persona 5 |OT2| Someone must have been helping you go to bed early. Talk!

Okay, so do I still get the free time if I finish Palace
6
early?
Obviously I need to get captured at some point, should I just wait until the last possible day to steal it, or can I do it now?

Yes, you still get the free time. Very light spoiler to explain why:
even if you get to the treasure early, you can't send the calling card until the last available day. So once you reach the treasure, hold a meeting and the characters will decide to send the card later and this will unblock your party member SLs.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is pretending that Ann is actually Junko Enoshima masquerading around as a phantom Thief before she plunges the party into
ultimate despair.

Now I won't be able to get this comparison out of my head lol.

I really like this Hawaii section. Nice to change up the scenery briefly, and Yusuke making that surprise appearance, too! Also got two options for my last moment of free time: Ryuji and Makoto. Looks like dudebro Ryuji will be short a friend lmao.

Question about this:
is the number of options random here? I thought I saw a screenshot earlier with just Ryuji as an option.

No it depends on your confidant levels.
I was rank 10 friendship route with Makoto but she didn't show up. I was dating Ann so she obviously was an option. The interesting thing is that Hifumi was available as an option too eventhough I was only rank 7 (which means I wasn't dating her)

So let me know if I got it right.

Immediately fallout after palace 6 spoilers

The group realized that Akechi is up to no good. They see up a cognitive version of MC and put it inside the integorration room of the palace which looked exactly like that of real world's.
When MC was captured in real life, Sae integorated him and got the phone from MC. Sae gets out of interrogation room, shows Akechi who was going to kill MC in real life. At that moment Futaba hacks into the phone, activated the metaverse nagivator and instantly changed their location to that of palace. And with that, Akechi kills the cognitive MC while the real world MC survived. What happens next confused me. Futaba had sms played in the phone that tells Akechi's plan to kill MC to Sae.

But wasn't Sae still at meta verse? How did she not run into Akechi after he kills cognitive MC? Did Futaba manage to turn off the metaverse during the sms so Sae was back in the real world?

Damn, Becky is legit

I had it occur at school for the first time.
That was above and beyond calling the other teach to the school office over the mic. I did not expect that to occur. Wow.

Weird.
I have both Ryuji & Ann (friendship) at Rank 10, while Makoto is only at 5 because of the Charm block.

+I really, really, really like the overall aesthetics of it. A ship filled with people who feed Shido's ego, while the rest of the world is ruins is perfect. In another life it would come across as rather silly, but considering how American society elected Donald fucking trump, it's basically prescient.
+Long final dungeons are my jam, and it really does feel like you're chipping away at this massive stronghold.
-This is more of a flaw with the game in general, but enemies shouldn't respawn when you leave rooms. The dungeon is littered with rooms and dungeons, so it drags.
-This is zany action / A crazy contraption /The fun is catchin' / It's Mousetrap! / The fun is catchin' / It's Mousetrap!

I'm pacing myself so it's not a straight shot to the end. Ultimately, so far so good though it could have been better.
Make Japan great again !

You can easily go past the rooms without fighting almost any of them if you use cover. The rooms are filled with sofas and desks to take cover behind.

I'm in NG+ so I already had confidants leveled up quick. Infact I have just begun palace 6 and there are only two confidants remaining to level up Fortune at 8 and Empress at 4. Nothing else remains.

Is palace 7 like 6 in that
I can only send the calling card on a specific date or is it like 1-5 where I can complete it early and use the remaining time for social stuff
?

Wow, the entire plan to trick Akechi was super elaborate. I'm not so sure about this huge ass info dump, though. Props for the MC going through all that interrogation shit just for the plan.

On another note, Futaba getting happy when Yusuke praised Sojiro for being a great man was cute.

Max leveling Crow was a mistake!

I'm about ten hours into the game, started the 2nd palace and I love it. The only gripe is that doing just one activity such as washing the dishes, reading a book, or eating a burger ends the day.

Did you fully grasp the whole plan? I mean how did Sae not run into Akechi on her way back to the interrogation room? After all they were still in the metaverse?

So I'm at the end of the game (last Palace) and I have a question:

Game says I have "FEW" days left before shit happens. What does "FEW" mean? How many days do I have left?

Yeah. Pretty much just have to think about it in gameplay balance terms.

Order of events (11/20):

Sae interrogates Joker in the IRL room, placing a cognitive Joker there as well in her Palace.
Sae tricks Goro into entering her Palace while she exits. Sae remains in reality while Goro does his business.
Sae returns to the interrogation room in reality to confirm that both the real Joker and the guard are safe, Goro leaves her Palace via the hallway 'entrance/exit' while Sae is still in the interrogation room.

So I'm at the end of the game (last Palace) and I have a question:

Game says I have "FEW" days left before shit happens. What does "FEW" mean? How many days do I have left?

It means "Hold on to your butts"

it won't let you progress time anyway so it's moot

Hahaha I was wondering that too. But I just ended up working through it.

It's late so I don't think I got everything,
but I'm assuming a fair amount of time had passed between Akechi killing MC's cognitive self and her leaving the interrogation room. So maybe Sae was loitering around after she spoke to Akechi and then got messaged by Futaba.

I don't know, I'm tired, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

Edit: I guess Jintor answered it, which makes more sense. I did keep a save before the entire thing so maybe I'll play through it again to understand the details better. Then again, that huge ass info dump was not something I was expecting at 1AM in the morning.

the game has an irritating habit of being waaaaaaaay fucking longer than you are prepared to handle

Palace 7

Lets fucking do this
Akechi you piece of shit
!

So middle of palace 6 and I feel this plot is gonna more or less play out like this BIG END GAME SPECULATION
the game keeps beating this drum about how close/similar the mc and Akechi are, so the latter is likely another wild card user which explains his black mask when killing people and the red mask for joining the team. Akechi's adult that pissed him off is likley the politician guy the mc pushed in the opening, and because this game's story is hack they'll probably be related where Akechi acted like he was helping him but was actually using his powers to create his own justice. Half the shut down cases were to advance the dad politically, the other half were to make Akechi look like a super genius. Since Akechi must have only awakened to his powers around the time the mc did, politics dad must aso have persona powers since someone needed to kill futaba's mother years ago.

So I just got through the first area of Palace 5 and I think I can see why people aren't too enthusiastic about it. I think the music is probably the biggest letdown, though, and if it had been as good as previous dungerons (3 especially), it wouldn't be as big a deal.

edit - man, listening to Price again, definitely one of my favorite tracks so far.

What you said made sense, but I remember Haru said Sae had to return to the interrogation room to return to real world?
That part I don't understand. It leads me thinking she and Akechi are both in palace. That's why Akechi kills cognitive MC, but Sae somehow already returns to real world and proceeds to save real world MC who is alive.

I seriously said "Oh no" when Morgana mentioned bringing the chair to the middle of the room.

I've only seen that done when someone commits suicide.

From the moment
he joined my party I knew there was something off about him. I didn't spend a dime on that asshole and never had him as an active party member.
Previous Persona games lead me to doubt that story development instantly, lol.

I was just doing my monthly shopping trip where everyone gets the best available from the Shop. Should have used some thought, but whatever.

Ah well, I still have 450k from Memento's extortion (can't think of any other word for asking an enemy for money before killing with an All-Out attack, lol) anyways, so it's not that big a deal.

The problem with him is that
it was so obvious that nobody else could be the traitor that I didn't think he'd actually be the traitor. His actual identity wasn't the twist though, and once you actually watch the whole thing it doesn't feel cheap.

Yeah, I was actually expecting the game to use my knowledge of previous Persona games against me and that
he'd turn out to not be the traitor. But just in case, I put him aside until I knew for sure.
But I was always more intrigued by the Morgana mystery anyway and I don't really have a guess yet as to how that is going to pan out. I assume they're not going to go the Teddy route but I honestly have no idea at this point.

Getting close to enter Palace 3 and the game is getting somewhat boring/repetitive. There are some nice scenes like that
hot pot
, but the main character being mute is a big negative. Also, after you come home to Leblanc after a long day of investigation or whatever, I absolutely hate when immediately the phone beeps. And then you discuss the same thing that you talked about during the day. FFS!

The persona fusion aspect is keeping me going though. I want to unlock Gallows Fusion, so I can really go deep into it.

And then you head in after two days.

I'll do a full NG+ game with English voice later on. Now just going for that plat.

Nah, i don't think I will anytime soon, I've played for 118 hours(with a few hours idling around, so I guess 110 hours of total playtime in reality) which is a lot and I kinda got bored of the game after around 100 hours in. I also think that I won't be able to stand the introduction tutorial that spans about 10 hours so soon after finishing the game.

I have a NG+ question though: I hope it's possible to reach platinum in the second play through when you don't have the "play all games" and "watch all movies" or "read all books" achievement and still want to max out all the confidants. I didn't even know those three trophies exist and I think they are very dumb choices as my stats are maxed out now and I don't get any benefit by reading, playing or watching stuff.

My NG+ since I no longer have to care about social stats

how did you get up there? lol..

Meh the fact that confidants dont show up when you need them kinda sucks, I know thats how the game works, but 19 fays left (9 since is for the calling card) and iwai isn't around tonight for example, and who knows if haru and/or shinya will be the next day.

Boooo I say.

So with NG+ confidant ranks carry over?

There is no way I'm maxing any of them this playthrough, too much unfocused time wasting.

You don't have one for the movies. I'm in early November and Empress, Hermit, Star, Moon, Strength and Tower are the only ones I haven't maxed yet. That's mostly because I need to go to mementos to do their requests first.

Read all the books. Scored a homerun. Caught the Ichigaya guardian. Almost done with the videogames. Bought all the drinks from vending machines.

Movies, crosswords and gifts don't have a trophy attached to it. The only trophy that's a pain in the ass is the craft tools one.

Reaper, compendium and the NG+ fight with Caroline and Justine won't be a problem.
