People don't want another DKC game. Especially if continues to take Retro FOUR YEARS to make them. Ridiculous timing by Nintendo if that happens. Retro needs more teams.

Speak for yourself. there are plenty of people that loved tropical freeze despite not getting a fair chance on wii u.
Metroid also needs to return and there are also plenty of people that want it to but i'd give it a break until someone has the balls to go back and make a proper 2d game.
Let retro finish the trilogy and give metroid to Koji Igarashi.
Just like you are now.
The difference between DKCR's and TF's sales are massive. If people wanted another DKC game, the gap wouldn't have been that great.

The only developer I really want to work on DK now is Playtonic (with Sumo Digital assisting them). With that, Retro can work on Metroid or even better a new IP.
I also would love Camelot to get a chance to make DK64 2 as they said they wanted to years ago.
Was never a fan of Retro's take on DK. One aspect that REALLY didn't sit well with me was... them upping the pitch on Diddy's voice for no reason. Why was he so squeaky? I love his voice and that always bugged me in their games.

Yes, people like to forget DKC Returns sold more than the Prime series combined. Even Tropical Freeze, hobbled by the Wii U, outperformed two of the three Prime games (including 3 which was on the red hot Wii)

I don't think Nintendo would outsource sound development for Metroid.
Regarding the Tropical Freeze sales discussion, DKCR sold 6.48 million against 101.63 million Wii consoles sold. DKCR:TF sold 1.62 million against 13.56 million Wii U consoles sold. DKCR acquisition stands at 6.4% while TF stands at 11.9%. You can't look at sales figures in a vacuum.
I think it stands to reason that had the Wii U experienced sell-through on par with Wii, TF figures would be have matched (if not exceeded) DKCR figures.
My guess is F-Zero

Yep, easily my favorite studio. I'd love another Metroid, but I have absolutely zero apprehension about the quality of whatever their next game turns out to be. Retro fucking brings it every time.

Edit:I guess interesting to note is that they haven't had information on Nintendo before with this being their only one. Though the bit with David Wise...hm

American studio who has worked on two of Nintendo's most NA-centric IPs after both went through long hiatuses, being given an IP literally made specifically for NA that's been on a multi-decade hiatus.

keeping my expectations low, but fuck it, Gimmie a Metroid with Brandon behind the music and I will buy the HELL out of it.
Thank you DMONKUMA, this is what I was referring to, and I hadn't seen all of it. Serenitynow, I am hoping DK and Metroid fans can both be happy. Like if Retro can indeed now make two games at once as has been hinted at. (Or, if we get a DK/Metroid crossover.)
