Y'all actually genuinely think he converted to Islam?

This whole thing reeks of a really shittily thought out false flag.

not sure about false flag but the "Allah Muhammad" makes me believe he didn't seriously converted or thought it about it even less than the usual people

Perhaps. It's hard to speculate on what exact plan he might have had without sounding tinfoil-hatty.

The problem I have with this line of reasoning is that his victims could've been literally anyone else and it would elicit a "stronger" emotional response from people who read about the story.

I mean, who's going to feel sorry for neo-Nazis?

Oh no! Looks like someone I'd go on a date with. Seriously though, what a nutcase.

If someone ever had, it probably would have prevented this.

Not Fox, but multiple pieces of trash in the article's comments saying exactly this.

And ignoring the fact that his Nazi roommates were stockpiling explosives and part of a hate group that calls for terrorist attacks. This guy might have saved dozens or hundreds of lives in the long run.

perhaps he did this to make it seem like islam was fighting against white america so his brethren will be more fearful of brown folk and then be even more violent towards them and his pals were the sacrifice for the agenda

Give it some time, the thread's still young.

I live in Tampa, so this is quite surprising. The city has a sizable Muslim population, but what a massive shift in ideology. Don't feel a bit bad for either the arrested dude or his friends.

"Arthurs stated that for some time before the murders, he had been privy to Russell participating in online neo-Nazi internet chat rooms where he threatened to kill people and bomb infrastructure."

so...neo-nazi threatened to kill people, kills people.

No, the story is pretty confusing so I had to read this statement a few times. Arthurs was the one who shot the nazis, not the one who made online threats. Russell was his roommate, Arthurs watched him threaten people on the internet. Russell was also the one with the explosives, but he didn't shoot anyone. I'm sure if Russell was home at the time, he'd be dead as well.

Who converted him? How? This sounds like a great Chappel skit. Ofcourse I'm sad lives were lost, but this is too deranged to be true.

So I take it you missed that heartwarming story about a son born into a KKK family rejecting his family's values.

I did miss it, thanks for pointing out something irrelevant to me!

My point is becoming a Muslim isn't going to change whatever violent tendencies this kid had when he first self identified as a Neo-Nazi (which wasn't born into, so he chose to be a part of a violent group).

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
That picture is crazy, it makes his head look flat as a pancake.

A war between Nazis and other terrorists is fine by me.

Lets gather them all up and put them on an island.

Leave the rest of us out of it.

From the title, I thought his friends killed him, not the other way around.
Although I guess "them" is typically plural (even though it sometimes gets used in English for gender-neutral singular)

Radical Islam and Neonazis targets the same kind of people so i can see it

Specifically Daesh hyper-zealotory match up so well. "You are blessed by God to slaughter the enemy, no mercy and make an examples of your enemy to scare them". The fact that NeoNazis would even be surprised about the comparison to radical religious terrorism is irony that you could use to power whole civilizations.

Hell there are now 2 separate topics on OT on neonazis killing in response to literally nothing of import and somehow people will still call angry liberals "snowflakes who need a safe space"

My biggest takeaway from this is there is an actual, named Neo-Nazi cell in that area and some of their members were constructing a bomb.

That's terrorism, right?

While searching the garage, investigators found a cooler full of a white, cake-like explosive material known as HMTD, or hexamethylene tiperoxide diamine, according to a criminal complaint filed in U.S. District Court. Nearby, they found explosive precursors — chemicals that can be mixed to create explosives — including potassium chlorate, potassium nitrate, nitro methane and more than a pound of ammonium nitrate in a package addressed to Russell.

Investigators also found electric matches and empty 5.56-caliber ammunition casings with fuses that could be used to detonate destructive devices once HMTD was added to the casings. The materials could be used to make a bomb, according to the complaint.
In Russell's bedroom, investigators discovered Nazi and white supremacist propaganda including the photo of McVeigh, who was convicted and executed for detonating an ammonium nitrate and nitromethane fertilizer truck bomb in front of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City in 1995. The death toll from the blast was 168.

According to the complaint, Russell admitted to being a national socialist, manufacturing the HTMD and owning the precursors. He also admitted he is a member of a white supremacy group called the Atomwaffen, German for "atomic weapons."
The Atomwaffen Division is a small, loose group of neo-Nazis that formed in the last couple of years, according to the Anti-Defamation League. Considered a hate group by the league and the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Atomwaffen Division circulates white supremacist fliers urging students to join local Nazis on college campuses around the country. Universities targeted include the University of Central Florida and State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota.
These dudes are the foot soldiers of evil. Dive them out. Drive. Them. Out.

As for Florida man, the conversion reminds me of Arnoud van Doorn from Wilders' Dutch Freedom Party.

You'd hope, right. But people are too busy singly demonizing Muslims while America puts up with terrorists that they know will go after minorities. Things, sadly, might only change when terrorism by white supremacists/neo-nazis actually starts to negatively affect the lives of the white majority populous.

These dudes are the foot soldiers of evil. Dive them out. Drive. Them. Out.

Like I said above, too many people in American will see this and give a response about as threatening as saying you won't get ice cream for dinner (i.e. Trump's "Stop it." line)
