I wonder, what if they rebranded Deep Down to MH.

Considering how I love Japanese games and how Sony usually squeeze the best out of third parties.. such a good news.
I bet MH5 will be among these announcements

We kinda assumed that Capcom and From would be on stage with Sony in some capacity. I am almost thinking about Sega now too.

Clearly the big announcements will be Trails of Cold Steel 3 confirmed for a US release on the same day as the Japanese release, as well as localizations of the Crossbell games for PS4/PC.

Oh.

Well now we're talking. Their western AAA stuff is ridiculously boring to me and I thought they didn't have anything japanese under wraps, bring it on.

Your impossible teases feel like sweet, sweet despair.

Sega was teasing that they want to bring back an old IP. Maybe Sony partnered with them to make it happen?

Also on the edge of my seat about monster hunter. So much could go wrong... but I want them to get it right. The fact that they are making a Hollywood movie of MH certainly adds weight to the idea of a big push for MH in the west.

I mean for the VFX team, they will have to come up with some stuff as a proposal to get the job right.

Well, sure, but that has only so much to do with where the film is in pre-production or how closely Capcom is coordinating with the filmmakers (which is hard to believe, given that they never coordinated closely with the RE films).

...there's a completed effects sequence from a film that hasn't even started production yet? Okay, sure.

Test reels happen all the time for anyone bidding on effects work. It's also right in line with Anderson's own vision for the film:

The central characters are very relatable American characters. You take a person from the ordinary world who thinks they’re in a dead end job, they have no future, they feel like their life’s a failure, it’s going nowhere, like Keanu Reeves in The Matrix. It’s about a normal American who gets dragged into this parallel world, this Monster Hunter world. Then eventually the parallel world ends up coming to our world. So you have the creatures from the Monster Hunter world invading our world.

The mythology is that basically monsters are real and all the monsters and creatures from our mythology, whether dragons or the Minotaur, or Chinese dragons, it’s all real. They were real. They really existed in our world. For every monster there was a hero that fought the monster. And then those monsters just disappeared, overnight. They ceased to exist, as did our need for heroes. They became a thing of myth and legend, but eventually the monsters will come back. Unless we have a hero to help fight them, our world with be devastated by these returning creatures, after we’ve chosen to put our faith in technology rather than heroes. All of our technology won’t mean anything once the dragons start raining fire.

Maximum fuckery inbound.

Things I want:

✓Final Fantasy 7 Remake info blowout
✓Ivalice Alliance JRPG for PS4
✓Suikoden 6 (despite relative unfamiliarity)
✓Skies of Arcadia JRPG for PS4
✓Xenogears: The Perfect Works Remaster
✓Shadow Hearts JRPG for PS4
✓Chrono Break
✓Onimusha
✓Mega Man project for HD gaming space

Things I'll get:
✓Resident Evil
✓Soulsborne
✓Monster Hunter
✓Devil May Cry 5 (hey, this one would at least make me happy for the fans who have waited, like, a decade)

No offense intended to fans of the stuff, of course! I just... have very specific gaming dietary needs. <_<

What is this? I thought Granblue was a mobile gatcha game.

It was. Up until Cygames held an event called Cygames Next last year!

Enjoy!

Add Something Phantasy Star related for the west, anything Mother related, Legend of Dragoon 2 and Secret of Mana and oh man... would be nice! :D

Nope, at PSX, yes.

Nope. At TGS yes ;)

The new Yakuza game hasn't even been announced in Japan yet, and I've no doubt that it'd be shown off at TGS just like all the previous games in the series. Hopefully its far enough along that we see something from it this year.

Assuming a new Yakuza game does get announced at TGS this year, then getting the confirmation of its English translation just a couple of months later would be awesome news. Would be great to actually get the games in a timely manor compared to how things were with Yakuza 5 where we waited for years before getting a translation.

More seriously, Squeenix seems to be going full force on the "mid-budget sequels to dormant B-list IPs" train, so an announcement of another one of those is a very real possibility.

I got confused, thought he said Yazuza 6 would show up.
