Alright, I was able to get it done like I said I would try to do. I think I added all requests up till now. Whew.

I know the perspective of the avatars is off a bit but I will have to lean how to fix that tomorrow.

Did Turtle Beach just confirm new Wireless Tech on the Scorpio?

"The STEALTH 700 & 600 will be the first two officially licensed headsets for Xbox One available at retail using Microsoft's new Xbox Wireless technology to connect directly to your console, just like your wireless controller does. No wires, no base station, no adapter needed. Just turn-on your headset and start playing"

I'm sorry if old, and I don't own a Xbox one/S

Edit:

"The STEALTH 700 & 600 headsets on Xbox One use Microsoft's new Windows Sonic for Headphones to deliver immersive virtual surround sound for your games, movies and music."

It's very stupid because I feel like this would've been the perfect time to unveil a new Banjo platformer. Super Mario Odyssey is coming out this fall, and Banjo could've served as Microsoft's answer to Mario. Plus it wouldn't have hurt to have a game like Banjo to be a launch title for the Scorpio. Or at least somewhere close to launch.

Hell, even Activision has been doing things with Crash Bandicoot lately along with the "Crash surprise" that's said to be happening at their conference this year. Why can't Microsoft do the same with Banjo? Or something like Conker? Why let these great IPs that have lots of potential just rot? You paid almost half a billion dollars to own these IPs, MS. Do something worthwhile with them for once! Something like Perfect Dark could've been perfect around this time as well (no pun intended).

Microsoft seems to think that there's no audience for a game like Banjo on Xbox. And I cannot really blame them for thinking that.

So why buy Banjo in the first place then???? Why did they buy Rare and just do jack squat with their wealth of IPs? I just simply don't understand.

If they knew or thought that a game like Banjo has no place on the Xbox, then why pay 375 million dollars for it and do nothing with it?

They claimed that the reason they bought Rare was to use the studio to diversify their lineup with games that are usually not seen on Xbox. But why just let their IPs rot then?

That was 15 years ago. The management at Xbox has seen several changes since then. The ones who were responsible for the Rare purchase aren't in power anymore, and the Xbox first party strategy has also been completely overhauled since then.

That didn't work well, did it?

Just because there has been management changes since then doesn't mean that today's Microsoft can't do something with Rare. If they were smart, they would use Rare as their Naughty Dog, so to speak.

As for things not working well, that was the case during the OG Xbox and early 360 era, but Kinect Sports and Avatars have arguably been successful. Although any Rare fan would tell you that's not what the studio should've been doing. I feel like bringing back old Rare IPs would garner some goodwill from the gaming community and would help diversify their portfolio. Seems like a no brainer to me, I dunno.

Look at Microsoft's first party strategy right now. They don't want to take big risks anymore. Crackdown 3 and Sea of Thieves are the biggest risks they are taking for the foreseeable future. Outside of that, we have more Halo, more Forza, more Gears of War. In addition, there are smaller projects like Recore: Definitive Edition and the rumoured Ori and the Will of the Wisps.

I honestly don't see how the audience for those old Rare games would come to Xbox anytime soon. As such, it would create goodwill. But goodwill alone won't pay the bills. And that's what seems to be more important to Microsoft.

Frankie just made me the lead writer.

But for me Halo 4 is the first Halo game that I feel gave me the master chief I read about in Eric Nylund's novels. Master Chief has never been portrayed better. In halo 4 both he and Cortana were much better developed and more interesting than they ever were in previous Halo games, and I felt the game was all the better for it. No Halo title makes the Chief look more like a badass, and for someone like me who is really into the fiction, the characters and the universe, the little things 343i did with Halo has led to me enjoying the last 2 more than I've enjoyed all the others..

Yea, you have to respect the originators, but I think 343i's Halo titles are better. At least I've personally enjoyed them more.

Whilst not my favourite Halo, it's definitely a good Halo and I agree with your points on the characterization of MC and Cortana. Well said.

That's exactly what I'm upset about. MS doesn't seem to want to take much risks anymore, and their current approach to making games with the Gaas model has me concerned. I feel like at some point, they would need to change their ways.

I feel like if MS gave these IPs a big marketing push and put some actual muscle behind these games, they have the potential to do good in sales. I admit that something like Banjo is a question mark, but I could easily see a Perfect Dark game be a huge success if MS actually did something useful with the IP. Hell, even PDZ was a million seller despite its negative reception by gamers. I feel that something like Conker could do well too given its nature as an M-rated series. Seems like a perfect fit for the Xbox. In a perfect world, Conker would've been the mascot of the Xbox right alongside Master Chief.

One could argue that they already tried these things back on the original Xbox and 360, but that's not really a fair thing to say. MS did a terrible job of marketing these franchises back then. Not to mention that the entries they did put out were either unfaithful to the originals (Nuts & Bolts) or botched sequels or remakes (Conker Live & Reloaded, PDZ). They barely even put these IPs to good use, or even used them much at all. They could easily redeem themselves in the eyes of gamers by doing all this stuff. And if they actually market these games well, they could turn out to be successes. Just look at how well Killer Instinct was handled. Why not do something similar with other IPs?

That's not true.

Whilst what we know to be coming may not seem particularly risky to some (though CD3 and SoT negate that opinion), it's a bit foolish to say that their approach will be to stop taking risks ahead of their E3 conference, when we have no idea of what they may reveal.

Haha, this is so funny, Im most excited for the press conference for the plattform I don't own. :p

Disclaimer: I did own an Xbone, but I sold it for a Switch, so MS has a lot to prove this time.

If you don't know what they will show at the E3 conference, then you keep up your hope for another week. But if you expect big and unexpected first party reveals, you'll be let down.

There's nothing in the entire Halo franchise that I would ever replace Halo 4 with. It's probably my favorite game in the franchise.
We are in the minority here, but 4 is my favorite halo also haha.

Chief and Cortana's journey was done so well, and I agree with you in that 4's Chief was the closest to the one in the Nylund novels.

Giving Chief emotion and a personality beyond a few lines here and there was the best thing for the character, and the whole campaign was lifted by it.

Personally, I'll be happy as long as the titles that we know are coming are as good as possible, that Scorpio lives up to the hype and we see what it's capable of in terms of 3rd party games and already released X1 games. Anything else is a bonus.

Buy io and get them to reboot PD as a 3rd person stealth/spying game.

Platformers still exist, ratchet, Mario, acti giving crash another roll of the dice. I think that banjo could work. They could make something stunning looking on Scorpio.

As others have said, it's a shame to not use these rare ips.

Side note, can't wait to see what the ki looks like on Scorpio

I'll just say this: Whatever Rare shows of Sea of Thieves will need to be so impressive it would rock my socks off in order to make up for there not being a Banjo Threeie lol

It's over boys. These guys really are a bunch of fucking clueless idiots. Unbelievable.

And some people don't get why I'm salty.

Yes we don't get it.
You're salty because of your actions and personality.
Because you read to much into twitter posts. Make up stories about stuff. Hate both being teased and getting you back into reality the same.

And then you also complain about all that non-stop on the Internet. You very own one man drama.

I don't get this at all, yes.
I even still don't know why exactly you're salty.

U are there , just zoom behind the train.at bottom
Ha I think that was joke :)

EDIT:
As much as a lot of people want another Banjo game, you have to think that the entire Rare team is being used to get SoT done. Perhaps discussion can open back up once that game is shipped.

The problem is not being teased, the problem is being teased with nothing. They must have been totally aware what they are doing, it is of course right for them to make now clear there is nothing other than that damn pirate sim, but why do the teasing in the first place? no one is upset that they now make clear that there will be nothing, but we now have the confirmation that all their teasing was either incredibly tone deaf or ill-spirited. It just makes clearer that the teasing beforehand was a giant shitshow that is completely disrespectful to their fans.

So they have been trolling people with Banjo again and it's not happening?

They can't keep getting away with this!

Okay so what has been going on here? I guess I'm out of the loop. I would agree that knowingly leading people on is in poor taste if that is indeed what is happening.
ah, my bad . must have missed the joke.
Ah no worries. I think it was because the avatar was put in the picture not on the train, but behind and off in the distance. Thus, the left behind comment.

Gregg Mayles posting several rhymes just before E3, that point to a new reveal, other Rare people like Duncan chiming in on the rhyming, several photos of a Banjo-Kazooie bag posted, including photos that solely show the Banjo bag. All of which coming a short time after Mayles first commented on what he would do with the level design of a new Banjo (which sounded great by the way; and note that this particular posting is not part of what I am criticising, it's jsut for the context of the other ones). A posting about extending the show to be able to show all the new stuff and Rare making clear it's about them, where it was obvious that Sea of Thieves would have been on the show one way or the other.

You may think this is not much, but it has been 12 years since MS bought Rare, 12 years for Banjo fans to beg for a new game. 12 years in which there was a spin off title instead of a sequel to Banjo and then first a turn towards motion games, then some online stuff that isn't even gameplay focussed much (and was teased in advance as very typically Rareware, where Rareware is the name that was used only in the Nintendo era. What exactly is Rare-in-the-Nintendo-era about an online pirate sim?), they have really strained the nerves of Banjo fans well enough. Considering all the hype and disappointment at E3 2015, you'd think they'd really be more careful in that regard.

Yeah, I enjoyed my time with Destiny too (put like 1600 hours into it). I just think it's silly when people pretend like it's the "one that got away," since there was so much engineered hype around it due to its massive marketing push that just wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Activision (and Sony pretending like it was first party). But yeah, I think it would've been a better game, quality wise, under MS than Activision (just nowhere near as popular). Then again, despite their fuck ups, I think Halo is better off with 343 than Bungie at this point, but that's mainly me not trusting Bungie at all any more.

I think Destiny it would have had similar marketing if it an xbox exclusive title. There would be no "pretending" it was first party...

I'm going to correct you and say that they were bought 15 years ago, not 12. :p

Somewhere deep inside of me, I still believe like a complete idiot that something has to come out of all these hints and tweets. I just feel like everything is so on the nose for a Banjo announcement, but I know it's not going to happen. Like always.

If Sunset Overdrive, ReCore, Banjo N&B, Viva Piñata, or Quantum Break indicate that it's not that easy. Even Halo Wars 2 performed badly despite having the Halo IP attached.

Ah yes, thank you.

I really don't know any other company that does such stunts. I long for a new F-Zero or Metroid, but I absolutely did not feel teased with one at all. I'd love a new Monkey Ball, but Sega does nothing to get my hopes up just to have them crashing down soon thereafter. The same about a new 3D Rayman. I don't get it what it is with Rare's contempt for Banjo fans. At least during the Kinect Sports era, they kept quite about Banjo and no one in their right mind would get hyped about the possibility of them announcing one. Since 2015, I feel they are making it a specific goal of theirs to make Banjo fans suffer.
