He's a journalist. He's impartial and does not "owe" MS or Sony or anyone else for that matter anything.

Whether the $499 report is of any substance or not remains to be seen, but journalists should never hold back doing their jobs.

Lol at people who ever thought $399 was possible. Why would MS eat a $100 loss on a niche model? MS ain't gonna outdo Sony on costing with a more powerful console.

That would make sense if that was MS approach but from MS tone and marketing so far they are actually banking on the idea that the Scorpio will bring them back on the map despite how ridiculous that is to anyone with a logic. It's priced above what the mainstream audience can afford and won't sell very well relative to the PS4 and XO. It will not do well, and they should expect that.
