Man, I remember when I was first playing KHII with friend (who had already played it), and I totally thought the death scene was fake and Goofy was gonna come back, but he swore up and down that no, Goofy was actually completely totally dead. He was so persuasive about it that I ended up believing him and then started getting really pissed at the game for killing Goofy LMAO

I think the main point of the person you're responding to is that nothing to you is not nothing to everyone. While NeoGAF doesn't seem to obligate any action in this particular case a little bit of consideration would be a generally nice thing to do with no down sides that I'm aware of.

I put more value on accruing knowledge (even garbage pop culture knowledge) than on accruing "unsullied" Media Experiences (especially garbage pop culture experiences). Every spoiler you read contributes to the first without meaningfully detracting from your ability to pursue the second.
Just witness all the delightful Goofy memes I got to see because I didn't sweat the Kingdom Hearts "spoiler" in this thread. If I was trying to keep myself clean, I would've missed all this joy. The memes are all better now that I know that someone, somewhere, once thought that sloppily fake-killing Goofy in his video game would be an earnest emotional beat.

It's more the absolute nothing of the scene than the age of the game. If the title spoiled anything Ansem or etc I'm guessing the title would have been adjusted to mark the spoiler and I would have fallen asleep a while ago.
