I remember GAF nevertheless shutting up about this game, maybe it's time to see what all the hubbub is about.
It has one of (if not the) best combat systems in a RPG game. Just don't expect much from its story and characters.I remember GAF nevertheless shutting up about this game, maybe it's time to see what all the hubbub is about.
STEP#1
Buy Dragons Dogma
STEP#2
Start Dragons Dogma
STEP#3
Meet Rook
STEP#4
Might as well consider the mainline series dead for now.
The MMO is where it's at for them.
You have problems with chocolate bars?Did they ever get rid of those black bars?
Bring it. Never played Dragon's Dogma, but it seems like something I'll really get into.
That is what I'm really looking forward to. I love magic spells and what not.amazing game. You are in for SUCH A TREAT. Even by the end of the game I was still amazed by the Sorcerer's abilities...
Really hoping it's 60fps, my low end laptop can do that.

Never played the game, but I've hoping to play it on the ps4 since I learned that one can pretty much play as Guts from Berserk.

Good stuff.Everything past "Stage 6" in the game is fantastically written though, and so is Bitterblack Isle honestly, so I wouldn't write it off completely.
Afaik they unfortunately had to cut the berserk related stuff from the game (armor etc) but yeah, fighting with a great sword is good fun haha
Never played but but all the hype has piqued my interest. Since the trailer in the OP spoils the game, can someone link a non-spoiler trailer or gameplay so I can get a better feel for what all the fuss is about?
How long/much content is in the game?

Fuck...
I don't know what it is but there is something extremely satisfying about picking a character up in games and then throwing them off buildings or just in general high places. As much as I dislike Saints Row 4 I loved to throw folks off buildings, awesome fun. I've always been hoping GTA would add that.
That's a fact 😆Game is filled with masterworks all, you can't go wrong
I did not see improved current gen visuals, They must of reuploaded the PS3 version.
Man, I've got to stop letting games sit in my backlog so long they get HD remakes.

I remember the pc version having mods that re-enabled the armor set so if you don't mind gaming on a pc that might be the best option for you. Content wise it should be the same aaaand it's already available probably at a discount as well.
edit: scratch that, apparently the creator ran into some problems.
Thanks, that's good to know. Did anything stand out that this game does better/different than other games in the same genre?I played the game back in the days on 360 and put around 50-60 hours into it without the dark arisen dlc
I don't have a gaming PC, but thanks either way. I'm sure there's some armor that closely resembles at least one of Gut's.
Edit: Back view with cloak
Good stuff.

Is it true that there is no longer "wind is pushing meeeeeeeeeee"?

Now I wanna go back and play the PS3 version again...Homie ...
Magic in DD is so far above other RPGs of any kind it's not even funny. Other games only look good when you summoning gods at level 600 or some shit. DDs fireballs are fun when you're a starting mage... then the electricity starts and you notice that lightning bolts feel like proper fucking lightning ... then you get some ice spells and think damn that's intense... and then Maelstrom and Bromide and all the heavy hitters come out and your summoning rocks from heaven and pointing fucking tornados at people.. it's wild and amazing and exactly how magic should feel in a game. Powerful. Dangerous. high risk reward but god-damn .. so pretty.
The combat is easier to compare to something like DmC or something than any other action rpg. The skill involved in chaining different attacks and tuning your character to be whatever kind of dangerous you want them to be is more intimate and intertwined than in any other game you'll play. There will be a point where you are running scared through the dark from goblins and it will feel amazing. And then 70 hours later you are hunting chimeras in the dark and they should be scared. It's one of the best power trips in gaming.
The atmosphere, scale, build up of power and consequence in the world for this game is pretty stunning. Creature design is perfectly Dungeons and Dragons. Classes are clearly defined but have room to breathe if you want to experiment. Weapons and armor all look different and show up on your person when you equip them. The agency you have in the world is amazing - whole plot lines can be skipped or delved into. Characters can and will die and disappear forever if you aren't careful. Evil af bad guys can be silly and stupid while also being actually creepy. Dragons can be sympathetic and dangerous at the same time. There is a lived in feel to this world.
At some point in the future you will have a story of being in the middle of nowhere, not sure about which direction you should be traveling, in the dark with nary a brew sauce or grass on hand to give you life. You'll think that there's a light maybe past these trees that could maybe be that one cave you saw before the sun went down and at least that would put you in the right direction towards town. It'll be not completely quiet and you pawns will be droning on about wolves or some shit and you may just get comfortable before you hear a whooshing sound, see red eyes and then HO FUCK you're fighting a dragon! And you will fight the fuck out this thing for a whole day in game. The sun will come up and set again cause this thing is so fucking strong and it has how many life bars(??!!) and two of your pawns are dead thank god your healer is still here and finally... after all that... when you climb his head and stab him one last time and come out the other side a dragon slayer when you were just trying to escort some girl to some fort???
This shit is magical and you will get lost in it and it will be on of the greatest experiences a game will ever give you.
And then you go to Bitterblack Isle 0.0
Now, now. Don't get me too hyped lol. Some of my favorite moments in games period.
wall of awesome text

It's head and shoulders above other games when it comes to combat.
Playing Witcher 3 right now and its combat is a complete joke compared to DD. DD's animation quality is also on another level.
This game better be good......
Heard so much praise from GAF about it.
