Xbox At gamescom 2017

They are also wrong because before there wasn't so much of a possibility of digital releases, so being retail only excludes a big trend.

For instance, at launch Ori, which is one of the best games Ms ever published, wouldn't be counted because it was not retail.
Agreed. Lists are dumb as fuck.

Watch Codename Hollywood be an indie like Ori.
I have no faith in Xbox trying to build a powerhouse like Halo and Gears again.

I dont think someone expects this to be a aaa title. It could be a aa production like recore. An indie normaly doesnt get a Retail Release right ?
I dont expect anything new at GC tho

Shangheist was the last time they tried right? Ah 2014 was full of such hope. Doesn't even feel like the same company is still running things at times.

I don't get this Shangheist thing. It was pretty much a tech/concept demo right? But cos Gears superceded it turned into a Great White Whale that can be mourned cos booo Gears etc.

Or am i missing something?

well we have 2 views. Phil spencer has said it was just a tech demo/ proof of concept. CBOAT said to was this great concept. choose who you believe

But both concepts? Don't see disparity. Don't get me wrong, variety would be good, but saying 'Shangheist was MS trying' seems off on several levels. Also smacks of one of gaming's worst things: fetishising entries on lists as if an announced or rumored exclusive is definitively great and will be in your hands soon. Hype monster at its most desperate.

Anyway, i am rambling.

I should've clarified better. CBOATS post said it was a great concept and it looked great and MS messed up by "canning" it.Essentially implying that it was an actual thing. Spencer essentially said it wasn't even a game

1. I love Gears. Actually really enjoyed Gears 4's campaign. I'm happy they are making another but hope they take it in a new direction.

2. What's not to get about Shangheist? Microsoft came out at E3 and said it was going to be their next large AAA franchise. It had a cool concept and a top team behind it with a large budget. Then it was canned in favor of Gears. It was the last time, at least publically, that Microsoft invested in such a ventrue. Not exactly boo let's complain about every little thing Microsoft does wrong controversial material here.

So do you all think they'll give a free game along with X pre order?

Probably not. Mostly likely though you'll get some good stuff from the Mixer Pot during the stream if E3 was any indication. Anyone want to take a guess what will be in there? I was almost thinking Recore, but it seems the Definitive Edition is going to be large part of the show. Sunset was already given out on Games for Gold so probably not. Can't think of too many other Rare Replay type first party games they could give out.

Watch this being some family game or something. Perhaps the Studio Gobo game?

Nothing wrong with a family game if its fun.

I'll take pretty much anything at this point

Yea and Codename Hollywood is listed at €70 on that store's website. If it's anything, I think it's an AAA title.

It could be a placeholder but MS dont so much put their smaller titles at retail so I would think if is an MS title it might be Recore size at least

Let's not even start I'll get my hopes up for the fabled second coming of 1 vs 100 lol

Nothing is more Hollywood than Bob Saget, nothing is more Bob Saget than 1 vs 100. Oh god it's happening this is it

Project Hollywood is a open world cyberpunk RPG

How do I know this? I believe in Phil Spencer. Its still real to me dammit!1!!

So what solid evidence do we have of a new unannounced game other than a listing of untitled game on a foreign site?

I really don't understand why it matters if its a AAA or indie game. It's 2017, and some of the best games this year have been indie.

I remember some rumors about Ninja Gaiden, Borderland 3 etc running back at E3 time.
They said they hold back a lot of announcements at E3, could be one of those, especially new Ninaja Gaiden, since Phil's Japan trip seems really effective.

That team is still working on Nioh DLC and will probably start working on the sequel after that. I think the Japan trip at best insured that easy multiplat titles stop getting cancelled left and right. Stuff like DBFZ would probably have skipped the platform if it wasn't for co-marketing.

I think DBZF was always planned to come to Xbox. When was the last time a DBZ game was console exclusive? That one PSOne game?
