If it's a jpeg it is automatically compressed, no matter how you transfer it to your PC. Change the image format to png an you're good. I host all my screenshots on Flickr, it served me well.
But even for a jpeg your image looked strangely blurry. I've been playing The Witcher 3 on my Pro and it looks really crisp.
Have you checked your Share settings on the Pro (assuming that's how you're taking the pics)? If you press the Share button there should be an option to tweak settings; make sure you have the image format set to PNG and the highest possible res.Game looks great on my TV. Sharp. Weird.
And I'm on Mac so I can't comprehend strange PC speak

Er, think you got mixed up here. Game Mode is what deactivates extra junk.

I always said I'd do a Deathmarch play through once (if) they put out a Pro patch, and here we are. I'm tossing up between starting one fresh, or doing one in New Game +. Has anyone tried both, and can comment on which is easier for Deathmarch?
This game is worth it more than any other game I've played this gen. Absolute masterpiece. I already put a few hundred hours into it on pc, wish I would've bought it here when it was on sale.
We're not worthy.
Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption are my favorite games of all time. Worth it. Both games completely took me by surprise too as far as that goes so I didn't walk into either expecting greatness.
They also cemented the idea to me that I don't prefer the silent protagonist - not when you can have a protagonist you love to play in your own way and learn more about.
it's the best game of this generation
Put 300 hours in doing everything on a single playthrough over the course of a year and a half. I wish it lasted another 300...
Any chances they are using FP16? Imagine if they aren't and they could still squeeze more power to introduce more improved assets alongside the Native 4k res (if they ever plan to release a bigger patch later).
You're kidding, right? You can't just toggle a switch to use half-precision floating point numbers. In fact, you'd probably have to make massive changes to the engine itself and possibly rewrite entire sections of the core code.
The Division is not native 4K on Pro (yes I know the thread here about Pro enhancement says that but it's an error). PAnd doesn't AC Origins use CBR along with dynamic res on One X? It stands to reason that the Pro won't be able to do better than that. That's right. Tbh, not even Sony First party studios did use it yet. Just some few games and other upcoming games like Far Cry 5 and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus that have it deeply integrated into their engine codes.
I really hope Cyberpunk 2077 will be using it in the future (if it is not a next-gen title already).
Speaking of this: If Ubisoft managed to hit Native 4K with games like The Division, For Honor and Assassin's Creed: Origins without the use of FP16, it is not unreasonable to imagine Far Cry 5 hitting it and maintaining it more often (and wny not even have better assets) especially if it has FP16 hard rooted into it.

Perhaps the pro patch might need some further optimization...
Even with 1.51? Ugh.
Being fair he's right, the texture quality and foliage is a mile behind PC. Seems that the original shot is a jpg rather than png so maybe a slightly unfair comparison. But there is clear night and day differences in the two, but then again there is also clear differences in the prices of the hardware running each shot.
A fresh Deathmarch run is pretty brutal in the earlier levels, if only because of a lack of skills available. New game plus was much easier in my experience.
So much for the fp16 math "plot twist"...
Why it is a twist? F1 2017 is using it and allowed improved graphical assets besides the bumped resolution. Games like Far Cry 5 and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus will support it from scratch even on PC with the newest Vega GPUs.
I don't think that in The Witcher 3, they used FP16 since it needs to be hardly implemented into the engine code. Something, not even Sony First party devs did use yet.

Fresh DM was awesome in the first couple of levels. Game was tough and you needed to be on your toes.

Avg. framerate according to NXGamer was 29.67 or so. I'm happy with that if we're getting native 4K.
Also, the rest of the video shows performance is pretty good overall, considering the crazy bump in resolution. There are even instances where the Pro fares better than the standard.
Is that bad frame-pacing?
In another comparison, Pro version holds up in areas that are actually demanding.

I have yet to play TW3 but aren't the swamps usually one of the most taxing areas?

But it isn't native 4k. But whatever, I highlighted the most extreme I could find in that video. Stats are in the details of the video for anyone who thinks that is interesting.
Well, there's still debate on how they're achieving the resolution, but for the most part it appears to be native, even in motion. So far, only NXGamer has spotted reconstruction arctifacts, and this appears to happen in a specific area, so.. if you have more details, please share them.
The texture quality will be ten miles behind when HD Reworked finally gets its 5.0 vanilla oriented update out. Honestly, I could not play the game without that pack anymore. It might have a few contentious issues, but they are mostly solved at this point. The base game even on PC has some really weak texturing in a lot of places.

The video I posted actually has a description which contains pixel count pictures and they say that it is 4k cbr, as well as they contain framerate statistics.
Any benefits to 1080p users such as down sampling?
