I just cant beleive people are legit thinking what we are seeing now is gameplay quality.

Do you guys believe bullshots as well? The replays are essentially that when you compare it to gameplay.

GTS is shaping up to be the greatest replay video player ever.
I know it's not the in game quality, duh

The quality in car view during the demos is gameplay quality. The post-processing is off and it is a clean 60 fps with solid lighting and draw distance and overall detail.

Exactly, I don't get why so many people here are puzzled by this. Download the demo and see for yourself, cockpit views are totally representative of gameplay conditions.

Also, it's easier to hide a few rendering issues when looking at small, downsampled gifs.

Unless I’m missing something Replay is essentially gameplay in 30fps with added motion blur for external cameras.

For cockpit view Replay is exactly gameplay in 60fps.

So yes we are seeing gameplay quality.

PS. My girlfriend was impressed with how good it looked... I showed others racing games to get too but it didn’t come close (pCARs 2 and DriveClub).

Don't get me wrong, the replays will look better. What i'm talking about is why they look better. It's not because they suddenly add higher quality cars, lighting, textures etc. during replays. It's because of the angles they use. GT's biggest visual strength is probably its lighting engine. In many ways the lighting engine is handicapped during gameplay because you're only able to see it from one angle. Whether that be in the cockpit, chase or hood cam. The replays allow PD to put the camera in the best spots on each track that'll really make the lighting engine shine. It's the same reason that Kojima doesn't just show raw gameplay during trailers he puts together. Instead he'll show them from cinematic angles because it simply makes the games look better.

This has always been the case with GT games. The nice angles of the replays made it seem somehow better than the gameplay camera views. I remember big discussions about what makes GT2's replay seem so good. A guy even brought up a example about driving his car to work everyday but seeing his car in a new way as he watched it driven around the block after getting detailed. The legacy continues.

I'd just like to point out that this will be the first game since GT5:p and the first mainline entry in the series to not include ANY JGTC/Super GT cars at launch and I'm totally not bitter about it at all.

Ehhh, he has a point dude. Some of the shitposters on here, may have been Forza dudes IDK, were fucking lunatics in their rage against this game at certain points.

Now that the game is looking like a beast visually people are tamed and sitting in their cages without throwing anything.

I'm not a Forza guy but how about we wait until we can all play the beta in a few hours before making ourselves look funny later.

It's going to be hard to pass up on a new GT, especially if it plays and looks so good. But a lack of any real campaign or strong offline content to focus solely on online championship is just not a viable reason to fork out nearly $100 CAD.

Best wishes.

Weather your a GT fan,PS4 fan or whatever, theres no denying this title will be a top level showcase for the Playstation 4 platform.

Bring it.

I used to think why the ps2 GT titles had 60fps replays and now we’re getting 30fps replays. Simple: Car count. ( or you can play in 1080p mode on Pro and get 60fps.) ;).

So ps4 pro 1080p mode is 60 fps gameplay and replay?

Also how are the reports so far in terms of how the game is with a wheel? Does it just work or do I need endless tinkering like pcars?

These are good examples. Look at the external views and ask yourself what is clear and in focus and for how much time. Much of the frame is blurred very nicely. The smeared scenery retains beautiful color and light while destroying detail. Only the green lambo is in focus an not 100% of the time; It gets hit with dof sometimes.

Then look at the gameplay view and the impression is immediatly more down to earth because you can actually see everything quite clearly without the motion blur and dof.

So does the gameplay look worse than the replay? Depends how you look at it guess. They definitely look different.

Do you think they add in better quality AA?

I see plenty of jaggies on the external views on my TV. I think it's one of the weaker aspects of the graphics on my regular ps4. If it's any better, it's not by much.

Of course, anywhere on the frame that motion blur is smearing pixels, jaggies will be obliterated.

External views meaning the replay camera angles?

I just downloaded the demo and now understand what you all have been watching with the clips and screenshots. Wow. My gawd...

There are extra post processing effects in the replays than compared to gameplay

Didn’t know the replays were 30fps. Do we know if this increases the image quality during replays minus motion blur? Going from 60 to 30 allows them to do a lot more in the graphics department.

GT's replays are a massive part of the experience for me: after every shortish race, I'll generally sit and watch the entire replay, and have done for a couple of generations now. I didn't realise how much I'd miss them until I played Project Cars.

I'm not the biggest fan of racing games (although I played Driveclub a heap) but this one is making me want a wheel anyway :)

Any recommendations for a good setup without selling a limb? I see some folks spending $1K plus and I am sure that's some good kit but considering my lack of love for racing games something entry level will do me just fine to add to the immersion without paying money on something that's garbage either.

I'm guessing not many, if any wheels works across PS4 and XB1 out of the box? I can buy a Drive Hub if needed anyway but thought I would ask the question out of curiosity.

I’m in Australia so obviously prices will differ but just after opinions from those who’ve tested particular wheels or even better, various wheels.

As soon as I download and install the son of a bitch, I get hit with the "server is under maintenance" message. I was never meant to play this game...

Again this hdr video played in sdr... Hahahah...

Real rendering here.
I don't get it. Are you laughing because you think that gif looks bad since its hdr video played in sdr and we who like the gif don't know any better.

Or are you laughing because you think the gif looks good only because of hdr/sdr mistake and the real rendering won't look as good as the gif.

Anyway the video you posted is not even the same time of day or weather.
