Well well well... I thought the first game was good but nothing more.

Had zero interest in this one but damn, I can't say I expected these reviews at all.

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

I feel like these guys don't even like videogames anymore
Yeah, they've been absurd for at least a decade at this point IMO. It's just a bunch of attention craving headlines.

It's great to see Rebirth reviewing so wonderfully. I loved the FF VIIR on PS5, but I still haven't checked out Intergrade. So I'm thinking about just waiting until Rebirth hits PC, and just playing Intergrade + Rebirth there.

Kotaku: Sephiroth is gay rights icon.
You know what's hilarious. Back when Kotaku was invite only in the mid-2000's. I somehow won a comments contest for the most voted comment (I did not know was going on) and it was a pic of Japanese male designs, and my comment was very similar to the one you quoted. It was along the lines of,

"Yes, Japan is very good at drawing effeminate men." or to that effect. I get an email from Bashcraft saying I won the contest and they sent me a free Xbox 360 controller, a game (forgot which one, might have been The Last Remnant which is still sealed) and I think Xbox Live sub card.

Crazy how polar opposite the globalist brainworms have made all our institutions and entertainment now, and in short order.

Great scores, as expected.

No doubt the game is probably a 9 or 10, but the demo's performance on PS5 was a 4 so I'm still going to hold out for PC.

Thats hilarious. I think 2000s era gaming era websites were still being run by the Gen X generation. after that, it was mostly millenials and now gen z who just dont know how to have fun online, and turn everything into a preachy lecture.

My thoughts too. If the Demo (which I liked) was anything to go by, Rebirth will share some of the issues people had with Remake, and it’ll hurt its overall score. If history has taught us anything, Square are absolutely terrible when it comes to side quests. I think people who are waiting for a single player FF game to break the curse and finally hit 90 or above, will need to keep waiting.

86 - 89 is my prediction.

So glad you were wrong. Life is Good!

b…b…b….but the graphics!

once again all that whining about graphics whining amount to nothing…just like Elden Ring and RE4Remake. 🤷‍♂️
The graphics whores must be in crisis. Games are getting excellent scores without AAAA visuals where every pebble has to be immaculate and every puddle ray traced.

Another one for the books. Graphics Whores really need to start accepting that unless they want to wait 10 years for a game to come out, they better get used to visual and performance imperfections. Human beings can't work miracles and get modern day games this big, with little to no graphical flaws, out at a reasonable time. Even a company as large, experienced and talented as Rockstar has needed at least a decade so far to develop GTA VI.

Great graphics are great for a little while, but great gameplay, music and story are great forever.

Yup, elements like the soundtrack is much more important to me than the visuals

I expected the critical success.
It's the first real uncompromised AAA modern era single player Final Fantasy.
No more super linear maps, HD towns are hard bullshit, side contents that are just fetch quests while delivering on story and gameplay.

Hopefully Square Enix understands that this is the template and kind of effort to go on with for the future.
Can't wait until next week, I'm planning to platinum this.

Scored a little higher than what I expected, though some reviewers criticizing the ending and pacing isn't too surprising.
Save for FFXIV expansions it should end up as the highest scoring Final Fantasy since FFXII and with so many reviews already out it seems unlikely that the Metacritic score will drop any further.
