Mortal Kombat(Vita) |OT| Blood in the Streets

Its a shame that the Vita only has 128MB of VRAM. Perhaps had it been 256MB like the PS3 they could've had the same level of textures as the PS3 version. Furthermore, they probably could've turned on higher detail models/bump mapping during the Intros, X-Rays & Fatalities where 60 FPS wouldn't be necessary.

The Vita has more total ram then the PS3. Someone suggested on the other thread that it could also be a memory card size issue.

I'm considering double dipping on this. Anyone know what the new costumes are?

Gives all the male/females ninjas their MK2/UMK3 costumes if they were in those games plus gives all the DLC characters their alts (Rains is just the UMK3 one though).

Previously most of the males had MK1 costumes but only Smoke/Noob had MK2 costumes, Sub-Zero had his MK3 costume and no one had their UMK3 costume. On the female side, two of the three had their MK2 costumes previously and all had their UMK3 costumes previously.

MKII variants for:
-Skarlett
-Mileena
-Sub-Zero
-Scorpion
-Reptile
-Ermac

UMK3 variants for:
-Skarlett
-Scorpion
-Sub-Zero (masked)
-Ermac
-Noob Saibot
-Smoke
-Rain
-Reptile

Alternates for:
-Kenshi
-Skarlett

Contrary to original reports (at least so far), Freddy and Rain don't have actual/new/secondary costumes (Rain's UMK3 variant is his alt).

vram is not the only thing that is required to display higher end textures. VITA is still not as powerful as PS3 in general so cuts have to be made in various places to get the game running at 60fps.

Wow. I love the UMK3 costumes. Think this may have put me over the edge.

I believe Reptile also has his UMK3 costume, right?

Added a link to this OT in the other one too, in case others stumble onto that one and want to check some more details/reviews of the Vita version.

Vita has party chat. Unless you mean chatting with someone in the game that's not on your friends list then that I don't know.

Apparently this game has direct in-game chat without using the party service.

I haven't encountered that yet.

So this version has the most Kontent?
Yep.
-16 extra costumes (for a total of 59 alt-costumes)
-More unlockable artwork
-150 extra challenges (on a separate Challenge Tower including Vita/related challenges with motions, touchscreen, etc.)
-AR-arena (for training) lets you play on whatever the camera is aiming at

There's apparently a reward for beating the extra 150-challenges, but haven't heard word about it.
The reward for beating the original Challenge Tower was:
an alt costume for Mileena -Flesh Pit Mileena-

And the developers appreciate that :p
Nice avatar.

Played the game again for the first time since the 90s. Only played it on PC but the PSX version has blown me away. No idea how they managed to pull it off at 60 fps without sacrificing the visuals.

So, is this going to have the digital discount whenever it hits the PS store (some time later tonight im assuming)? For $36 instead of $40?

I so wanted to believe in this... MK on 360 is amazing
but ehhhhhhh... Vita

Thanks for coming by to shit on it. Much appreciated.

I'm hoping so. I bought my 32 gig card for keepers like this one. Store needs to update so I can buy it.

man I want this so bad. But have to finish Golden Abyss and NG Sigma before getting into this. Looking forward to hear everyone's impressions of the game

Yeah whats the PSN price on this? I want to have it on my memory card ALL THE TIME :D (but if its over 40 euros i'll have to get a physical copy)

I do prefer to lean on arcade sticks, but the amount of content and smoothness of this port makes it hard to avoid. I loved what I played of the console versions, so having this content rich game portable will be a dream. Unfortunately I wont be buying this game until I get a Vita.
