It just hit me.

Whats so NEW about it :) Seems like Halo, sub 30 fps same FoV no new modes like spectator no dedis so well probably still have blackscreens and all weapons spawning again when people quit. No news on a ranking system to know if anyone will care about it competitively. Small amount of Forge updates. Can buy the game for 99 dollars if you want a lot of paper stuff about Halo canon. Seems like every other Halo to me... !

That wasn't even limited to MLG, that was just the one Gemini strategy that could work every time. Team Preview was filled with that nonsense. Snipers switching which arm overhang they'd camp out on every time someone tried to push so nobody knew where they were, two shotguns in close proximity and giant ass doors that made a loud sound anytime someone got close. In my experience, the fourth guy primarily watched teleporter in case they all rushed it.

Gemini was not very good.

My new opinion of Halo 4:

Even if the Armor Abilities suck like Reach's, we have faster, better movement, I don't have to spawn with the AR, and there will be no terrible forge maps.

I haven't played Reach in a week, and I definitely think Halo 4 will be better than Reach. It almost has to, haha.

edit: Although something I recalled this morning : Is faster shield recharge confirmed to be a specialization/perk/etc? Because I guarantee that will be combined with Hardlight Shield.

how'd people find that screen though? I don't remember seeing a view of the dude's little medical iPad in the actual cutscene. Did they pull a "Chief has another helmet under his helmet" and rotated the camera or something?

I'm pretty sure some of that intro scene gets cut if you have certain preferences set on the Xbox, since it also acts as a basic calibration for the game.

Yeah, the fourth guy usually watched the portal. I remember a Str8 vs FB game where one player just stood in front of the portal while constantly swinging the energy sword. I think that game ended 11-8. So bad.

I just can't justify spending $60 on a game that I'll play through one time, when I know it will be on sale for $25 on Black Friday.

Haha, I'll still probably break down and get it on launch day though. Same for Borderlands 2 and Resident Evil 6.

I really need to work on budgeting. Stalker, gimme some of that magic.

Hell yeah, what you doing? I recently did SS lines, StopTech Street Performance pads, and ATE Super Blue. Cleaned the calipers up nice too. Braking is awesome now, but got some build up on rotors already and they are wobbly. :(
 
No, he's not. He's saying it's unreasonable to judge the combat based on one variable such as how many shots it takes to kill with a BR. Even setting aside the firing cadence of the weapon, Halo 4 is a different game with an entirely different combat sandbox, a host of new variables in the mix beyond weapons.

Even basics such as grenade damage and radius and melee damage were altered significantly by Bungie from game to game. They were not "just for the sake of change" as you put it, but because they were making a new game. I hesitate to draw much from that one variable - how many shots it takes to kill with the BR - and infer the speed and nature of combat in the game.

I just got that impression from reading that since he's okay with the game falling "flat on it's arse" as long as it tried to be different. And I know that certain things like grenade damage weren't changed just for the sake of it.

My problem is the 5sk BR's minimum kill time is ~1.8 seconds, which will lead to even longer average kill times (obviously). That is way too long IMO.

Thankfully the DMR is ~1.5 seconds and I think the carbine is even shorter, so I'll definitely be using those.

Obviously as a Halo fan, I don't want the game to fall 'flat on it's arse' (as I so eloquently put it), I'm merely illustrating that the other games exist, and they aren't going anywhere. I have no doubt I'll enjoy the game, and play the shit out of it. My enjoyment certainly won't be impeded by the extra 0.3 of a second it takes to perfectly 4 OR 5 shot an enemy player.

Because to be that anal about something is pretty silly and quite idiotic in my opinion.

(and yes, I'd consider myself a fairly competitive player before we go down the 'you don't understand my view because you play the game at a lower level than me')

4 pot/2 pot upgrade. 04-05's didn't get them. I think I'm about done with the car, I've put about 9k into it and have upgraded or replace damn near everything -- only thing left is a full blown motor build, which I don't think I will do. Instead I might just buy an E92 M3 next year as a second car and start things off with an easy 420+ whp.

I was there that day when my tuner put his on the dyno.^^^ I almost went and bought one right after I heard the thing roar with each downshift lol

There's 10 scheduled bulletins before release. Next week will be specialisations and there's two more on Covenant and Promethean weaponry.

They should be able to cram a lot of info into 7 more bulletins.
