-Specializations (confirmed to be next week, hoping for some good info)
-Maps
-Covenant weapons
-Vehicles
-Armor Abilities
-Gametypes
-Ranking system
-Weapon drop system
-Promethean weapons
-Playlists

Then toss in the sweet podcast about the weapon sandbox. Leave campaign out of it. No spoilers pls

There's 10 scheduled bulletins before release. Next week will be specialisations and there's two more on Covenant and Promethean weaponry.

They should be able to cram a lot of info into 7 more bulletins.

Well, ten Wednesdays before release counting down the calendar. I doubt they'll stop posting bulletins on schedule this close to release.

There has never been a Halo FPS on Xbox LIVE that did not have a skill ranking system. I think this is one of the things people shouldn't have to worry about.

Actually, I think H2v does have truskill if you use the matchmake button. (Or was it called optimatch?)

Either way, I think you are specifically talking about a visible ranking system, so whatever.

I am just hoping that if there is a rank system it will be used in multiple playlists and not be a one playlist show aka reach..


I've gotten more competitive matches in Halo 3 today than in the past 2 years with Reach.

It is possible to have competitive matches in reach?? /mindblown

It is between this and a Halo 3 runthrough. I can't see myself doing a full Halo marathon, school and all that :( (thank god it is my last year)

4 pot/2 pot upgrade. 04-05's didn't get them. I think I'm about done with the car, I've put about 9k into it and have upgraded or replace damn near everything -- only thing left is a full blown motor build, which I don't think I will do. Instead I might just buy an E92 M3 next year as a second car and start things off with an easy 420+ whp.

I was there that day when my tuner put his on the dyno.^^^ I almost went and bought one right after I heard the thing roar with each downshift lol

02-03 didn't have the 4 pot/2 pot either. I did the same upgrade on my previous 02 and it was awesome, but its much nicer on my 06 with the more awesomer calipers. Nice upgrade, you'll love them. They really are much better, and look good too.

Your car sounds like a lot of fun. I don't think I'll do anything else to mine really. Maybe on my next car.

I think its totally reasonable to expect a more detailed info dump and ramp up to launch. Should be fun. :)

Over no-bloom? Not really.

As we've seen, TU can be even less consistent than non TU with the glitches you guys have recently pointed out.

But I also think it throws off the balance of some of the other sandbox elements.

Like I said, I would prefer if the game was made with a non-blooming sandbox from the getgo, but If the sandbox is sufficiently tweaked as with MLG, then it's alright.
I like playing MLG on occasion, but I also want some more variety and I love BTB.

BTB was more fun for me pre-TU, for a variety of reasons.

Other than being smaller, and organized into an episodic delivery method, how are Spartan Ops missions different from Campaign?

You can choose your loadouts in Spartan Ops, so the progression of your Spartan IV seems to play a role. Besides that yeah, I have no idea.

I do see where you're coming from, concerning the sandbox. With the TU, the majority of the sandbox becomes even more useless. However, I just cannot stand 100% bloom. I'd rather not use the Needle Rifle than to miss shots because the mechanics are so bad.

My brother had that E92 M3. Convertible. Let me tell you something, top down, M mode, paddle shifting. It's a lot of fuckin fun.

And that's my real concern with Spartan Ops. It's a "replacement" for Firefight in the sense that it's a four player co-operative mode against enemy AI in missions that leverage the combat sandbox in a more focused way than Campaign.

But Firefight let us experience that sandbox in a wide array of contexts, from the wacky (Arcade) to rough, do-or die situations (Limited). Last Man Standing scenarios are my favorite parts of Firefight, where the burden of the entire game is on your shoulders against steep odds, your back to the wall. Firefight is and will always be a survival mode to me.

I know Spartan Ops is not Firefight, but if we gain a narrative context and a sequential structure for the missions, but lose customization and the survival aspect, I'm not sure that's a trade I'd have made. I'm not yet sure that's a trade that has been made, but it's a possibility that worries me.

I played Halo 3 last night, and it made me so disappointed when I pulled out the hunk of garbage that is the Halo 3 Magnum. So worthless.
 
The least played ranking system in Halo history given Reach online numbers. Not very accurate and I even let the system compile numbers for trueskill to kick in. What a joke of a "Rank" system.
It is an excellent ranking system, with poor feedback. Your claims to its innaccuracy are baseless or "a joke" as you put it.

I played Halo 3 last night, and it made me so disappointed when I pulled out the hunk of garbage that is the Halo 3 Magnum. So worthless.

This seems better than Halo 3's but worse than Reach's for what it's worth.

Halo 3's magnum was possibly the worst gun in the entire series.

I am loving the new medals, such an improvement over the temp art and to be honest these may be my new favorite look.. Time will tell.

Same here, love the look and what it does overall for the HUD and immersion of the game.

Feels like a digital award coming into your HUD letting you know about your current progress in Infinity. Awesome.
